Beach Palace Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

We thought it was perfect for us.  We had kind of a formal entrance (not intentionally done on our part) since we came in right after the mariachi band played, so we turned on the Bose after that, and it was great to just have some casual and fun background music.  We danced to a few of the slower songs, but mainly it was just our overall background sound.

Hello All!

Congratulations to all the brides to be in 2012 and beyond! I'm in the process of trying to book my wedding at the Beach Palace for November 2012. It has been extremely challenging to say the least. In fact, I'm very close to just throwing my hands up and going in a different direction. The communication has been poor, the information has been inconsistent and it's difficult to get answers to very simple questions.

Can any of you share your experience with the booking process? How did you actually confirm your date and location?

Also, I recently visited Cancun and did site inspections at the Beach Palace, Moon Palace, Le Blanc and Cancun Palace. I took lots of pictures and I'm happy to share the photos and info I received to anyone who's interested. Clearly this can be a frustrating and time consuming process - I figure the best "weapon" is being well informed and learning as much as we can from each other as possible!

Look forward to hearing from y'all!

Hey Kabby....

Ok...do it with me....deeeeep breath. It's going to be fine...I promise. I know that when you are in the throws of planning and you are being bombarded with wedding emails every day from The Knot, BDW, Wedding Channel....and every other bridal site out there, you think "OMG...I must do EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW". And when you are in that zone, you want answers. But I can tell you, in my dealings with Palace Resorts....nothing really happens that quickly, and that's because they can't dedicate too much to you for your November wedding b/c their resources are being utilized for their March/April/May weddings right now.

As far as booking...I did everything through my travel agent. She handled everything for me, and I would advise going that route. Find someone who has booked destination weddings before, and they will already be familiar with the contracts and rules that go along with booking this kind of trip. My agent did all of the communicating with Janessa in the Miami office; and when I had specific questions I emailed her directly.

Try not to let the frustration get the best of you....they are going into their really busy season. But everyone I hear from on this thread says that as soon as you get there, the wedding staff is at your beckon call...and that's really what's important. That when it comes down to YOUR day, they are there for you. I haven't really heard anyone complaining. On the contrary, they say...."Wow I was so stressed out for nothing. Everything worked out great".

I totally get where you're coming from. I started having a full on panic attack about ordering navy seat covers and figuring out how much it would cost to send them to Cancun until my FI gently put his hands on my shoulders and said "You have to STOP this. We are getting married in Mexico so that you didn't have to worry about this stuff" And he was right. We want to have a destination wedding b/c we want a gorgeous, casual getaway with family and friends. We did this b/c I didn't WANT to stress about decorations, or flowers, or nit picky things that I saw my sister and cousins go completely bridezilla over. At the end of the day, I realized, I'm going to be at a fantastic resort with all my friends and family on a gorgeous beach with the man of my dreams. Does it really matter if I have navy blue seat covers?

Destinationweddings.com is a great service...I almost used them myself before my future MIL gave me the name of our agent to use. I think they charge a $50 fee that is then credited to your trip....but they can do EVERYTHING for you. They know the resorts...they know how to book the trips.

Everything will fall into place. Find a travel agent and enjoy being a bride-to-be with your fabulous FI.

Best wishes my friend!

Alysam,

When were you able to book the Sky Terrace? I got my contract yesterday. My TA was trying to get the location added to the contract, but no such luck. My Miami WC said that the location is decided when my onsite WC is in contact 3 months before my date. I am okay with waiting if this is a policy they use for EVERYONE. My fear is some people talk their way out of it and are able to book it in advance and it will be booked on my day :(. I have the 6 PM time on April 26, 2013. Any advice welcome! Thanks BP Brides!!!!

Hi Jenni!

I will be seeing you in 2013! I'm getting married at the BP  April 20th, 2013. I'v read numerous different stories about everything working out fine and then some not so good ones where spaces were already booked. I chose the BP specifically for the Sky Terrace. I got the same response as you from our coordinator in Miami. I told them I wasn't going to pay the deposit until they could confirm the locations I wanted and 2 days later I received an email confirmation. I feel that the coordinators are a little all over the place and the only way to get things done and answered is being very direct and firm. Hope this helps!

Hi Ladies,

I have been communicating with Janessa from the Miami office- she said the same thing. That i have to wait 90days out to book the locations. I also chose this resort solely for the sky terrace. I have a temporary hold on my time and date and I am waiting on confirmed rates from the Tour Groups to book.  I will take your advise Shan- hope it works! I have anxiety over this!

Shan! Congrats! So exciting that we are just a few days from each other!!! Ill be making you go through this with me every step of the way ;) Who is your Miami WC? I haven't had direct dealings with mine (Charmaine Vervuurt) because my TA has been handling everything so far. I just got my contract the day before yesterday...havent done anything with it yet. You think it's ok to email her myself and tell her I'm hesitant to return my contract and deposit without confirmation of the Sky Terrace? I'm so non-confrontational I'm likely to never make it through this, ha!!! I'm so glad to have found all you guys!!!

I know communication can be slow with the Palace Resorts, so I thought I would give the heads up for any 2012 brides...I received an email today stating that the Colin Cowie packages will currently not be available until June 1st of this year. I know many brides do not like the new packages, but I am now in a serious predicament because I booked the nautical package months ago for my May 28th wedding. In fact, I initially chose the Palace Resorts because I have always dreamed of a Nantucket wedding and planned to bring Massachusetts to Mexico. I have purchased everything for my wedding surrounding this theme (bridal party attire, invitations, accessories, etc), and I am now told that I have to pick an old package. Anyway, I did not come here with the intentions to rant...I truly hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
