Do you have the info on the booze cruise?  How much does it cost?

Thank you!

As far as the D.J., I had tried to book a better outside company, but they all emailed me back and said they were booked. Hopefully whoever we get will be in the mood to be active and involved. I'll be sure to let the on site coordinator know that is what we want. I will be sending a list of music to the d.j. along with specific songs to play for when we come in and I dance with my dad etc..

We have 60 guests. The ceremony will be on the beach along with the cocktail hour. I wanted the cocktail hour on the beach so that when we were taking photos we can have as many people involved as possible. I am not doing a wedding party, so I don't want all the pics to be of just the two of us. We are going with the complimentary soloist for the ceremony, probably a saxophone and the mexican trio for the cocktail hour. The reception will be on the south terrace. i will also be having a breakfast on the south terrace the next morning for all the guests. Because I have a lot of guests we qualified for unlimited private functions. I didn't know what else to use them for so I figured all the early birds could get up and have breakfast together!

The night before our wedding we are doing a booze cruise to Isla Mujeres with all of our guests. It is a one hour boat ride to Isla Mujeres with all alcohol included. Once there, you have dinner on the beach, see a Mayan show and play games. Then an hour boat ride back.  I still need to book transportation to and from the boat port but it should be a lot of fun. Hopefully we don't get too drink happy and do it just right.

I have not heard from the on-site coordinator yet but I wouldn't be worried. From what I hear they do a really great job catering to your every need. I suggest bringing all the paperwork that you have with you and writing out a list of all the things you want. I would also print out all emails that you have saved that have specific information about your wedding day. From what I read, once you get there the coordinator will sit down with you and go over everything as far as the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.

We paid about $4500 for my fiance and myself...and that's for 5 days at Beach Palace, and four days at Sun Palace for the honeymoon, including airfare. We are going with the complimentary wedding package. After putting pen to paper, and realizing we were going to have a small group, this just made more sense. Now that they've changed the rules on how you can use your resort credits...any of the packages will be over $1000 out of pocket. I wanted to put that cash into my photos. We've also opted to just go with dinner at one of the restaurants. But again, we are going to have a very small group with us of less than 10. My advice is, as easy as it is to want to go overboard with decor...I think less is more. The resort is gorgeous...and whether you're on the Sky Terrace or the beach....the ceremony will be spectacular. As my FI says...no one will remember what color chair coverings you had, and you're just as married if you pay $3500 or $0. In the end I know he's right. So that's my two cents worth. You'll do what's right for you.

I'm looking at one of the new packages called Lavender Luxe and I would love to see some pictures of a wedding on the beach. Thanks for your help! Also, how much was the reception on the rooftop terrace?

Julia14...I am also planning on a may 2013 wedding at beach palace..just wondering what your date was.

Julia14 and kdkotyla619, what are your wedding dates? I am also planning a May wedding at Beach Palace. Mine is most likely May 3, I have not made the commitment quite yet, I was hoping to hear about if they were extending resort credit into 2013. What collection are you ladies picking? The photographer package that comes with it is SO small and you cannot have an outside photographer :( it would be great to keep in touch throughout our planning processes since we are in same time frame. Congrats!!!

Did you use the BOSE system after dinner? Where did you do this at? I was thinking of upgrading music system but I think it is a set up where we play our ipod and its for only a few hours. Which is basically the same as a BOSE and I already have one. What do you recommend? Thanks!!

I am using an outside photographer at Beach Palace this May...and a lot of past brides have done the same. If you ask to use one, they will most likely allow it. We only have to pay the fee for day passes.

Good luck with your wedding planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
