i think they did a fantastic job on the dress!  i can see where you would want the front pleated panel to come over a little farther, but other than that, i think it is great.

...and i would keep the train at the length it is, i think it would take away from the dress to shorten it.

D14me -  I think they did a great job.  With the bow on, I think it will look amazing!

Happy8shley - wow, I think your dress turned out gorgeous.  What a steal.

All your beautiful dresses are making me regret buying the real deal when all these knockoffs are turning out so well.

D14me: I think your dress is stunning and that they did a very good job. My actual dress turned out better than the proofs, but I can see how you would want more pleating at the top, maybe ask them for more "scrunching and more sheer layers for the sweeping part over the bodice to create a more "pleat-like" look..." I actually went out and bought a separate flower to clip on my strap to create more of a fuller flower strap because I felt that the original flowers weren't quite enough... but by the end of the night, I had so much fun, I lost my flower clip and no one noticed... I guess I partied too hard...It will wear more beautifully than it appears on the proofs because it's designed for your body shape and I can just picture the elegance of the train, so keep the train... you can always ask for a bustle.  I think they charged me about 10 bucks but it was all I needed.  Best wishes on your wedding!

Cindy: Thanks hun!  I thought it was a pretty good deal too.  I really went in on this knock off thing without intention to expect a glamourous dress...and maybe that helped a lot when I got it- although you'd be surprise of the polyester taffeta that I was so worried about!  It's actually a great weight and no one would have ever guessed my dress was under $200 smackeroos!  The other reason was that since I didn't wish to preserve the dress, I'm getting it chopped above the knees and hugged for my anniversary... I'm so frugal in that way...lol, but it's only because I loved the versatility of the bodice!  If you went for the real deal, don't feel bad, that's a permanent guarantee on the beauty and quality!  I wouldn't feel bad at all, you'll be beautiful! Just think of this knockoff route as an outlet for when you may need a different kind of dress for a future event you can actually risk the authencity of it!

I googled "bustle" (because I'm ashamed to say I had no clue what they looked like) and from the results that came up,I'm still trying to figure out how that would work for this dress? Did they give you a choice on the bustle for your dress? Or,did they just do the type of bustle they deemed better suited for your dress?

Hi D14! The main issue I see is that it looks like they either didn't put a layer of that chiffon over the bodice (the bust/wait area) or only put one layer - making it seem much lighter than the rest of the dress. I would ask them to put an extra layer of the chiffon over the bodice and to try match the colour of the skirt better. I would also definetly ask them to lower the back - it will look much nicer. I asked for ALOT of changes to mine and they had no issues! Don't be afraid to ask for what you want!

I didn't really ask for a specific, but I was familiar with the "loops" that they do at David's Bridal where it hangs onto a button they put on the back of the dress... that was the kind of bustle I was expecting... but they actually sewed in these "clasps" under the dress where they snap on... so there was a "line" of snap things along the inside hem part that snapped into the "closure" part of the snaps the attached further up underneath the dress... it gave it a better look than I had intended since I saw my cousin's dress was hooked with the ring loop for if you want to hold the train.  I would google pictures of the different kinds of bustles and go with one that would fit your dress best...or you can even ask them to send you pictures of how they would recommend it for your type of dress.  Good luck hun!

All of these dresses from Gianinar Bridal look fantastic!!!  I am looking at a few different Maggie dresses.  Once I decide which one I want to go with I am going to have Gianinar make it.

Just wondering... has anyone ordered a dress from inweddingdress.com?  They have a huge selection at great prices.  It's kind of tempting, but I am not sure about them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
