Well ladies it seems we are all on the fence lol.

I have checked out a few destination wedding photographers and they all seem to be around 3000-3500. I am just not sure if i want to put that in my budget!I think the recent work form digipix is really nice! I think i should go out to one of the other brides who has gotten married and used them recently so i can find out how they felt about them. I will check into this and let you both know!

Hey Ladies, I have found that most of good quality photographers in Jamaica are pretty pricey. I got really lucky snagging a local (Toronto) photographer to come with me just before she got really big. She gave me an amazing deal but her packages now start at double what I am paying - she is really good.

I know alot of other BDWers who got great pricing from Nate Broshot. He's a destination wedding photog based out of the states who takes amazing photos. Worth a shot!

Hey ladies, ah yes, I’m still on the fence. Julie, I felt how you did too when I saw digipix webpage. It does look pixilated, not a very good representation of their work. They are very reasonably priced. Exactly, these recent pictures Wendy posted are great. Haha, what to do…Jonesr, I’m not into putting 3000 on my budget either, ouch, a bit steep when there's lots of other things to spend money on. Thanks for looking into what previous brides have to say about their experience! Hopefully there are some good results. Sabrina (Bree), glad to hear you were able to get a local photog to come to Jamaica with you at an amazing price. The one’s I’ve looked at surrounding the Toronto area charge a pretty penny just to travel with you.

I am thinking of using Digipix for my video. I wasn't going to bother with videographer but we have family from all over the world who wouldn't make it so I am thinking of using them for Video. I only have a few days so I don't know if I can get another alternative right now.

I can bring a photographer from home (close to Toronto, ON Canada) for $3500. They'll do pictures before, during, and after the wedding, including trash the dress. If I'm going to spend that much, I may as well bring a photog with me. I think digipix does a pretty good job from what I've seen. Maybe we'll go with them...I just want to make sure they take some pictures of us getting ready, during the ceremony, couple pics, family pics, and reception...bouquet toss, etc. Hmmm...I'm gonna keep evaluating this one...I wish they'd get back to me...I'd love to see how long they spend with you, and for what price, and how many pictures you get. I just have the basic package Nicole gave me. The largest package is only 70 pictures + CD for $875...does that include more than 70 pictures on the CD? I donno.
DigiPix has larger packages on their website that work out better than the hotel's limited package and are reasonably priced. I'm not sure we can use those packages or if we have to use the ones through the hotel. I'll figure that out when I get closer in, Nicole is too busy now to bother her.

I think we should be able to use those packages on the website. It probably just additional to the cost that including in our package. But who knows!?!??!

Hopefully Digipi gets back to one of us lol

Not to give you more to be confused about but I ended up choosing Marcia Roberts. Her prices are very reasonable and the quality pics are very good. She responds to emails and will even call you to talk about details. She has very good reviews on this site as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
