I'd love to know as well.  Also, did anyone do a trial there first?  I would hate to pay all that money and end up looking like a "callgirl."  Has there been any talk of trials, and how much they charge for a trial?

Hey Mrs. Smith what time did your ceremony begin? We picked 4:30 for ours, but now I'm wondering if 5pm is better.

And yes, the $800 privatizes the restaurant and pays for dinner but the $18 per person covers cake and champagne on top of that.

CONGRATULATIONS MRS SMITH!!!!

You looked beautiful!  Sorry about the privacy issue.  I completely understand.  I only have about 12 guests coming so i wont be able to have a private event either.  How did the Music Bar work out for you? Was that private or are other hotel guest loitering? What did you do during dinner? How was the mood? The tableware/china.. did you provide those or did the hotel?

The music bar was great, we privatized it for $350.  For dinner we just ate and everyone mingled, the mood for everyone else seemed relax, i was on edge because we were running late and we only had the music bar privatized til 10:30 (we didnt finish dinner until 9pm) The hotel provided the tableware and used my centerpieces.

That totally sucks that you couldnt have a private reception. Sounds like everything worked out ok though. So stupid and annoying that rule. And you had 2 extra guests (from Jamaica) show up? I know another bride who got married at the beach resort and had OVER 20 people show up (from jamaica) She was FREAKING OUT. She already had over 100 ppl so it was crazy. Seems to be a cultural thing. LOL

Yes, May is definetly busier than December (my wedding month) - but its still a day-to-day thing. Like my resort was completely booked for the dates of my wedding trip - some friends who wanted to take the same plane as us couldnt cause they were totally booked - up to the day of my wedding. Then it slowed down a bit on my wedding day (it was a friday)

Definitely is a cultural thing!  BangHead.gif

Mrs Smith,

This may sound like a silly question but I was wondering: What do you rehearse at the rehearsal dinner?

We did the rehearsal during the day. Nicole arranged that.

The mango disco walk was pretty large, it's bigger than the music bar and the music bar was large for my 33 people.  We pretty much just used half of it.

5pm was good, I actually showed up late so we didn't have much sunlight left for pics, 4:30pm would be good.

Do you have any pictures of the music bar? Do you think the terrace or music bar would be a better place for the speeces/first dance etc.

We finally made the decision about our ceremony.  We booked the Cinnamon Hill Aqueducts! If we may have to give up on the private dinner we wanted at the restaurant we wanted, we are going to have the private ceremony we wanted. It took us a couple of weeks to decide if we wanted to pay the extra money but I think it will be worth it. I am so excited now!

Oh MsSmith I've been dying to talk to a bride that used Rashel.  I booked her and she told me she did the wedding but I didn't realize it was yours.  She was waiting for pics from you so she could post them.  What did you think of her and her services?  I'm having her airbrush my tattoo as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
