Did you meet your fiance online?

Recommended Posts

My fiance and I met on match.com . He was recently divorced, and I was looking to at least make new friends, maybe more, after the end of a long relationship. We chatted for a few weeks before we actually met, and we've been together ever since!

We met 3.5 yrs ago on Plentyoffish.com! We started out dating, moved to friends, lost touch for about a year and then 1 year ago, we found each other again and here we are! We're best friends and in that year we lost touch, I missed him terribly. I always knew he was IT... it just took him a little while to realize it wink.gif

Okay, I know I'm incredibly geeky but in an awesome way. *grin* I met my FI while playing one of the first online games called 'The Realm' when we were both in highschool. We were both prominent members in the community and became friends. We maintained this friendship over the course of a number of years and a number of different games ( everquest world of warcraft ) to name a few. When I finished Uni I decided I wanted a year off to travel.

I decided to make the UK my homebase as it was a gateway with cheap flights all over europe, and decided that it would be cool to meet my long time online buddy. So we met up down in brighton, and one thing led to another and here I am ... engaged.

Still kinda wondering how that happened and why I'm living a continent away from home lol. Except I know, it's because I love him. :)

Very cool to see so many couples that have met online! My FI and I met online on plentyoffish.com about a year and a half ago and became engaged a little after one year. It's funny though, because I don't hesitate to tell people that we met online. My FI, however, doesn't like disclosing that fact and when asked where we met, he tells people the name of the place we had our first date and first face-to-face meeting. wink.gif

HEEHEEHEE we did too!!! We chatted on an AOL chatroom that was associated with our High Schools and realized we had some mutual friends and decided to meet up. The rest is history!!!

Funny thing too is that BOTH of his sisters met their husbands online too!!! how crazy is that??

My fiance and I met online. We talked for a little over a month before we met. I think we really got to know everything about each other before we met in person and that's what made everything so great when we actually did. We weren't nervous at all and it was so natural. He's my best friend and I love him so much. We really are a perfect match.

I met my fiance online. I signed up for E-harmony on October 19th my mother's birthday and my fiance was "matched" to me within 2 days. We began talking online for about a week and met up at a restaurant. We have been together ever since. He is everything I could ever want in a husband.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
