I confess that even though I lost my job in March, I don't really have the desire to look for a new one. I'm kind of enjoying the "not working" thing. FI told me to take the summer off and enjoy, but I'm worried that once September comes, I'm still not going to want to look for one.

i confess that i did pretty much NO work today. too much BDW, looking at family's pics from the wedding trip, chit-chatting with coworkers, etc.

would you be able to afford your DW (along with life's normal expenses) if you didn't go back to work (without going into debt)? i think if you'd be alright with one less paycheck, that might be why you're not feeling a sense of urgency about it. that said, my company isn't doing too well, and DH keeps asking me if i've started looking yet (even tho i currently still have my job), and i can't bring myself to do it.

I confess I want to quit my job that i started in February and resent DH a little for making us move and leave my old job that I Loved and was so good at it. I mean granted he has a better job now and we moved to CA (where i grew up) from Boston and I love being back in the bay area but I feel liek Im wasting my time in this job and its about to get SUPER stressful

I already have enough saved for our whole wedding on my own! We're in a really good situation financially, which is why he told me to take the summer off. I'm getting severance and unemployment through the end of July, then unemployment. We could probably go a while without me working, the biggest thing will be my health insurance, which with COBRA will be $500/month. He is a consultant so he has private ins and pays $300 for his....

I think it's because I've never NOT worked and I've always been on my own taking care of myself. It's weird for me to think someone else is going to help me.

We did the same thing. You are definitely not alone. Actually, I did tell my Mom ... but no one else knows!

PS - Jaime ... I am a military wife as well. How long is Brandon deployed for? I know how hard it is. If you ever need to vent - just let me know!

My DH left for Iraq a week after we got engaged and was in Iraq for 14 months. He goes back in April 2010 ... and is currently in training til mid-July. UGH....

Tami- It's nice to know I'm not alone! He'll be in Iraq for 12 months... he's been gone for a month and a half now. I miss him so much! He will be out of the army for good just a couple months after he gets back from Iraq. I can't wait. I'm just looking forward to his R&R now... although we don't know when that will be!

Ah, Jaime, I can totally relate! DH is in the Army too. He has 17 years in, so once he gets back from his next stint in Iraq, it'll be about time to retire. He is in the Reserves, but is a Major now so he is pretty active and busy with that, as well as his regular FT job.

Hopefully the time will go by fast for you! Has he been deployed before since you guys have been together?
