  1. I've had a few people mention to me that they're afraid it won't feel as special if we're technically already married. I've been debating whether to do it before or after. Does it feel weird that you're already legally married? What was the legal ceremony like? Did you guys exchange full vows? Sorry for all the questions, haha.
  2. @@hannahlf11 My intention is to send invites about 8 months in advance. I'm only including the basic info (where & when) and directing them to our wedding website and our travel agent for additional info. I'm going to wait until the booking deadline has passed before sending our pre-travel mailer, because then I'll know how many people are coming (give or take a few tragglers).
  3. @@calgarybride2015 Those are very pretty. It seems every time I see something on here that I love, I check the username and it's something of yours, haha.
  4. I can't decide if I am or not, haha. Part of me wants to do lots of decor in bright, vibrant tropical colours, and another part of me just wants to keep it simple with subdued colours and just a few touches here and there. I change my mind daily.
  5. @@AllieH Thanks! I can't wait for it to come in so I can actually try it on in my size. Now if only our travel agent would get back to us with our group rate so we could do some legit planning...
  6. So far the ONLY thing I've decided on for the wedding is my dress, haha. http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=5MS162&page=0&pageSize=36&keywordText=&keywordType=All
  7. I'm also a big fan of SYTTD, and had no idea they were making a Canadian version. Is it on TLC? Or on Slice or something, like the Canadian version of Four Weddings?
  8. These turned out great! Seeing everyone on her have such success with their DIY projects is making me feel like maybe I can do it too...
  9. @@calgarybride2015 I love everything you've done. Everything looks so incredible! You're so creative. I'm excited for you, getting to see it all finally come together in less than 2 weeks! I can't imagine how pumped you must be. All your DIY is so inspiring and all your advice is so amazingly helpful.
  10. My dress is a corset back, but the back is quite low, so I'll likely go the sewn in cups route. Maybe look into another seamstress? Or maybe those stick-ems that just stick right to your boob?
  11. These look so fantastic! I like the idea of editing in power point. Word is so cumbersome for this type of project, I find. Now to hurry to 150 posts so I can open the template, haha.
  12. I haven't been myself, but I saw Colin Cowie is running some kind of promo at the Hard Rocks right now. I'm curious to hear how the wedding and the resort are. Congrats and happy planning!
  13. I think it's totally reasonable to just say the RSVP deadline has passed and unfortunately you aren't able to add additional guests at this point, sorrynotsorry. If they really wanted to go they had ample time to decide. It's not your job to chase people down and make sure they're responding; you have enough to worry about! I would tell them "you snooze, you lose" and forget about it. Actually, I'm looking forward to maybe being able to do that to a couple of our invited, haha.
  14. Great idea, but I second the sizing question. How would you be sure you got the right size?
  15. I love the idea of putting the location and date rather than our names. That way people might actually keep them and re-use them after the wedding week. You're a genius - my destination wedding planning idol.
  16. @@AmorDeMiVida Could you please, please email me the info as well? We're looking at a Riu for January 2016. [email protected]
  17. @@calgarybride2015 Putting everything in the cups is a superb idea. I might steal that, haha. My criteria for what to include is now "must fit in the cup".
  18. I'm thinking of doing OOT bags plus a pair of small maracas on the chairs at the ceremony. I'm not doing an elaborate or expensive favor, though. But I really don't think you NEED to do both.
  19. @travelgal78 I think what you have looks like plenty! I was just thinking of a few individual sized medications (pepto, imodium, advil), an insulated cup or mug of some description, hand sanitizer, a room key holder on a wrist coil, and some aloe. Has anyone done special Oot bags for just the kids? What kind of stuff did you include?
