  1. One love- Bob Marley, Is this love- Bob Marley , She's Royal - Taurus Riley, or you could ask the band to do a reggae version of a song you like. We're thinking of have Stuck on you by Lionel Richie, sung by a reggae band.
  2. What about cannon in d with steel pans, it sounds amazing! You tube it!!
  3. Canadabride2015 if you're looking for something private, check out Hummingbird hall, its a villa in Montego bay. The only thing is they don't have accommodation, so you'd have to stay in a resort close by. We are having our wedding in Negril, its about an hour from the airport. There is loads if lovely small resorts there. Rhodes hall plantation in Negril has a private beach, check out their website. http://www.rhodesresort.com/ Good luck with the planning!! :-)
  4. We are waiting 2 months to have our ahr, it'll be late February. Hopefully we'll have the photographs by then, and we can have slide show in the background.
  5. We are paying for our own too.. been saving 2 years!
  6. Very nice find danielleanddryan2015!!! I was thinking to put in Two bottles of red strip in each bag... I can get them when we arrive.:-)
  7. I would go for a veil if you really want, you can always get the weights. Its your day, and you don't went to look back, and think..... 'oh I wish I'd done something differently'
  8. I love the dress, its gorgeous!!! He so doesn't need to wear a suit, pants and a shirt would be perfect!!!
  9. Hi there, we're getting married in Jamaica, and we've booked our ceremony for 4, should be cool enough by then, and just before sunset.
  10. I totally agree, when I bought the dress, I had no real vision of the day, but now I have a much clearer vision of what I want, I guess I'll sell the first dress! Thanks for your advice!
  11. We are waiting 2 months to have our ahr. Mainly because of work schedules, when we return from our wedding. So we decided to combine my Birthday and ahr! We are having a church blessing followed by a buffet dinner and DJ in a local hotel. We are calling in a lot of favours from friends and family to keep the costs down! I'm going to make my own cake. I was thinking to make cupcakes and make candy trees instead fof serving a dessert.
  12. Thanks so much Ladies, you are so right. I definitely feel more comfortable in the tea length dress! My budget is 700€(950 USD), I'm leaning towards the Tea-length vintage style dress.
  13. Hey Ladies, I need your opinions on wedding dresses. I bought a dress over a year and half ago, when I first got engaged, it was really nice and it was cheap, 100 euro ( 137 USD).In the past year, I've lost weight, and tonwd up, and the dress is really loose on me, I've tried it on pinned, but I'm just not loving it anymore. I don't feel amazing in it. Should I get another dress? Or is this just normal? Has anyone else felt like thus? I have been to a few wedding dress shops, and I've fallen in love with a 1950`s tea length style dress. Unfortunately, I'm unable to afford the dress in question, as it costs €1400 (2000 USD). I do however know an amazing dress maker, who can probably make an identical dress. What do you think I should do? Do you think tea length would work at a DW? Or should I stick with my original choice, which is an a.line Grecian style dress. I'd really appreciate your thoughts and ideas :-) http://www.ebay.ie/itm/BNWT-MONSOON-MARLOWE-20s-Gatsby-Silk-Ivory-Jewel-Embellished-Wedding-Dress-10-/380904600731?pt=UK_Women_s_Dresses&hash=item58afaef49b http://louloubridal.co.uk/collections/bridal/pink-collection/lb33/
  14. Hey, I don't think you should have to provide sandals, most of my guests will probably just take off their shoes for the ceremony, and put them back on for the reception.
  15. Our guests are all arriving on different days, and staying in different hotels too. Me and my Fi are staying at his parents place until the day before the wedding. I'm hoping to have a girls night with my sister ( chief bridesmaid), my bridesmaids and my mother in law and her sisters. My Fi will do same with his grooms men and his Dad. We'll have a rehearsal dinner the night before ( Monday) the wedding on Tuesday, and Wednesday will be NYE, so we might see if we'll meet up for drinks/dinner. Other than that, we'll let everyone relax and enjoy their holiday!!!
  16. Hey there, we sent our save the dates out 10 months in advance. We didn't use our colour theme with the cards. We made them ourselves, I'm pretty sure you can templates for free online. We did a boarding pass, and used a picture of the beach venue as the background. I haven't made the invites yet, I got all the stationary ages ago, just need to get around to putting them together.
  17. I was thinking to have sparklers on the beach after he dinner and speeches... also I'm Irish and my Fi is Jamaican. Most of the guests will be his family, I was thinking to name the tables after Irish towns and cities ( in Gaelic) and giving a prize to the table who can pronounce the name the best!
  18. We're doing our ahr in my hometown. We're going to have a Catholic blessing of our Marraige in our local church first, then a dinner and a DJ in a local hotel. Our out of town guests can book a room there for the night, so they've no excuse to miss it !!!
  19. Yeah, its so nice on the cliffs, we looked at Rockhouse as a possible venue, but they needed us to book out a minimum of 15 rooms, we just didn't have enough out of town guests! You getting married on e beach too?
  20. Hey, thanks for the tip, it looks nice!! My sister and BM are staying close by there. Not looking for anything too formal, the casual the better tbh. We're getting married in Sea wind resort. :-)
  21. Hey there, Myself and my Fiancé are getting married in Negril at the end of December, and we were thinking to have a rehearsal Dinner, so that my family/wedding party can get to know his family. Does anyone have any suggestions of a nice restaurant or bar we could go to?? We were thinking about Rock house, because most of my family and guests are staying close by there. I'd love to hear any suggestions, or ideas!!! Thanks!! :-)
  22. We are buying the groom/ groom's men suits here ( we've gotten their measurments)and shipping them to the grooms men in advance, that way they can get all their alterations done before the big day!
  23. I totally agree with the previous post, you can totally manage the planning alone. We thought we would need help in the beginning, but, once we got looking on this forum and read reviews from other brides, we decided to go at it alone. Its definitely an expense that can be spared!! Hope you're issue with the resort gets sorted!! I don't think any wedding planning goes 100% smoothly!! :-) :-)
