  1. Strongly considering the Now Jade for our wedding. I can't wait to see how all of your planning turns out!
  2. Totally team veil! Agreed - when do you get the opportunity to wear it again?
  3. I too am looking for a light beachy feel for pictures and would prefer people stay away from dark colors. I like island festive!
  4. I love the idea of a pinata at the wedding! Such a fun element
  5. You made such a stunning bride. The photos with you and your children are absolutely beautiful! Thanks for the advice for future brides.
  6. We intend to get our parents photobooks with pictures from the wedding as gifts even though they won't be contributing. Obviously they will get these after the wedding, but we wanted to get them something meaningful and hopefully they love them!! For the wedding itself, we will only be getting them the traditional bouts and corsages to wear.
  7. Really old thread, but a very helpful read nonetheless! Hopefully bringing this back up helps remind brides headed out for their DW's to be mindful about the safety of their belongings.
  8. Pictures of small wedding details like the shoes, rings, flowers, etc are my absolute favorite! Beautiful photos!

Like this bouquet (it's actually paper!!) that I saw in an Etsy shop. I'm in love with this bouquet. You may have just helped pick my wedding colors

The travel expenses are higher but we all get a vacation in Tuscany too! Our family will leave after a week and we are staying an extra week and traveling up to Portofino and Barolo for our honeymoon. Here are our costs. Efffetti Wedding planner in Italy - $1,881 Piazza Comunale Town hall - $1,300 Jay Studio Rome photography - $1,040 Jay Studio videographer - $1,235 Wedding/reception flowers - $630 Enzo Polito Musicians - $1,170 Bottegga del Nobile wine cave reception - $1,560 Wedding attire (both) - $2,375 At home reception (60 people) - $3,915 Travel for 8 - $15,600 Honeymoon - $3,000 Total $33,706 Not bad and about the cost of a wedding at home but we get to be in Italy!!! This is amazing! Congratulations! Sounds like it will be an amazing time for you and your family!!
  12. Your home is stunning! Please tell me you are a professional and can come to my house! Your pictures are beautifully set up. Again, please come to my house!
  13. So many smiles and laughs! I can't wait for my special day. More pictures from past happy brides are a must!

My MIL was always making really passive aggressive comments to me when we first announced it would be held in Mexico and finally I just told her she did not have to come and that if we HAD to have anyone there at our wedding, we have done it in our hometown. But all that is important is that him, our daughter, and myself be there. Anyone else is a bonus! We are going to do the legal part here in the states first or right after though. We're not going to be in the country long enough before the wedding day to make it legal and the blood thing and price wasn't worth it. But we're not telling anyone. Secret! I'm thinking of having some sentimental marriage license/certificate thing made up with our vows on it that all the guests can sign as a guest book, but also as witnesses to our testimony to each other. Yes! FI and I are in the early stages of planning a DW. We have only mentioned it to a few people actually - immediate family and a few close friends. I'm a quality, not quantity type of girl. I think its more important to spend a few days of quality time with close friends and family members that we don't get to see as often as we would like, than to spend 1 day with over 100 people where there will be many people we barely know. FI and I are paying for the wedding ourselves and it just made more sense to spend the money going snorkeling, sipping drinks on the beach, and having a good time with the 25 or so people we are closest to in our lives instead of spending it feeding people we barely talk to these days.
  17. I'm also a shorty! My fiance is over a foot taller than me so I would love to know what wedges/heel suggestions past brides have!
  18. La Reve is beautiful! Your wedding sounds like it was wonderful!
  19. I've always been skeptical about an underwater TTD, but these are absolutely gorgeous!
