    I like Mufin's suggestion. You could also consider doing a reception dinner indoors and then maybe moving it outside for a bonfire or wish lanterns to end the evening?

    I definitely don't think it is tacky. People understand when you're doing a small, intimate wedding. We are doing immediate family only-- probably between 10-15 people.

    No matter when & where you have your wedding, people will tell you you shouldn't have it then/there. Don't forget that! While I haven't been to Jamaica in June I have been to the DR which I assume would be similar. It was hot but not unbearably so. The resort we were at even had cold water Jacuzzis on the beach that you could use to cool off! Maybe you can just make sure your ceremony is at sunset and be conscious of other elements of your day that might be outdoors. It is your day- and I'm sure it will be beautiful whether you have it in June or December or any other month for that matter!

    Welcome and congrats on your upcoming wedding. I'm also a 2014 bride! That sounds like a great plan to have your wedding party join you early. I'm not familiar with that resort but I'm sure other ladies here will be.

    I think think have shawls for the girls could be a great solution. Your photographer might have other tips but regardless, I'm sure your pictures will turn out beautiful!

    Just to double check, it would be flying out of Virginia and you want to stay under $1,500 per person or all together? If that's your total budget I think you'll have trouble finding that since they're pretty pricey places to fly to, from what I understand.

    I'm planning for Jamaica in January 2014 but wanted to let you know that you're not alone! I feel pretty far behind in planning... I just sent out the save the dates and beyond that, not much is actually done.
