  1. I'm wearing mine I think... I don't want to lose something that expensive! My fiancé would kill me lol
  2. It doesn't bother me at all if our friends and family take pictures. I agree with @@kdnolan I want those candid shots! Snap away! @@talicea7812 I'm sorry your friend backed out last minute, thats such a bummer! I'm sure she'll be wishing she had come if she sees pictures! Don't stress too much over it
  3. I'm leaving next week and started to panic over this too! I have receipts for every gift and also the wedding decor lol. I need to finish putting together a list with everything too just to be prepared. Phew, thanks for easing my nerves ladies! Oh, and I believe you can only carry $300 worth of gifts per person or $600 per couple. I also need to figure this out because I very well may have more than that amount.
  4. I agree, I think other gifts to show your appreciation is a great idea! Hair and makeup is only for 1 day...
  5. LOVE Secrets Maroma! I had a friend get married there last year and it was stunning. If we didn't have kids attending our wedding then I would have had it there. Instead we are going there for our honeymoon in a couple weeks! I can't wait it's soo gorgeous! Good luck to you ladies
  6. Might have to steal the champagne brunch idea! Love that
  7. Definitely wear a veil! I was not going to at first but it makes you really feel and look more like a bride! Plus I think some pictures are stunning with veils blowing in the wind or thrown over you and your husbands faces while kissing... Ah so pretty
  8. I'm going to give our parents nice, framed portraits of us from our wedding.
  9. I just love that color combination! @@nettybon
  10. @@kdnolan we are waiting a few months to have our AHR. We're getting married next week and plan to have it in the spring - either April or May. It's just going to be a casual party at our home with catered food, beer and wine. We may setup a big tent in our front yard, and hire a band. Need to figure out a budget still! I should probably get started soon lol 3 months isn't that far away!!
  11. Those fireworks are beautiful! Would be fun to watch on the beach!
  12. I have been all over the place with colors! I actually chose to do something a little different... The ceremony colors are actually different than the cocktail and reception color schemes. For the ceremony, I chose to go with a package offered at our resort called 'Pure Glamour' which is a classic Hollywood vibe with pinks, ivories, champagne and lilac colors. I wanted a more elegant look for the ceremony I guess lol http://www.memorablemomentsweddings.com/Karisma-MM-pkg-PureGlamour.html For the cocktail and reception decor colors, we chose turquoise and coral colors!
  13. The charge is crazy! I have been to plenty of weddings where they have the welcome bags at the concierge or front desk, and as you check in they give you one. It's really not that hard lol. I'm torn between just paying the $4 our resort charges per bag, or bringing all 22 bags to the welcome dinner. I really don't want to have to worry about distributing bags to everyone ugh.
  14. We're getting married February 8th (next weekend!!) and we're waiting until May to have our AHR which will probably just be a casual party at our home with catered food, beer and wine!
  15. We first went to David's Bridal, and I was not overly thrilled with the selections there for junior bridesmaids, or bridesmaids. I then went to Alfred Angelo and was BEYOND impressed! They have the most beautiful dresses for bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids and the prices are actually surprisingly more reasonable than David's Bridal. I was really shocked because the quality of their dresses is much better in my opinion http://www.alfredangelo.com
  16. @@murmel how was your trip? Hope you had a great time! Were you able to take any pictures of the new zavaz gazebo? How was the weather? Lol I know its usually really nice down there but figured I would ask since I'm leaving next week! Any other important information you found out while there? Did you happen to see any weddings take place? And if so, did you see any of the new Memorable Moments packages? I decided to go with the Pure Glamour package, and I'm curious if the setups are just beautiful in real life as they are in the pictures lol. Thanks Murmel!!
  17. @@liz24 it really does turn into a small fortune especially when you start paying for others. I would maybe choose to either pay for their hair OR makeup, but not both. That will help to cut costs! You should also ask your resort if they offer any discounts. Our hotel gives me 15% all spa/ salon services and for all our guests too which is nice.
  18. I totally understand! Hair/ makeup and a photographer were my top priorities as well! We are staying at the Azul Sensatori, and their salon has great reviews! All past brides have been really happy with their hair/ makeup. I'm not sure if they allow people on the premises who are not staying at the hotel though. I'm having my trial hair and wedding hairstyle done there, and for both I am paying $138. A friend attending our wedding does beautiful airbrush makeup, which will save me a little bit of money! But, if she wasn't coming then I would be spending around $378 for hair/makeup. I feel like everywhere is overpriced... Anytime you throw the word 'wedding' on anything, the price is automatically higher lol. The deal that @@LoriGran got from 'The Best Moments' sounds really great!! That's awesome they pay the vendor fee too!
  19. I am ecstatic for our TTD shoot! The pictures are absolutely breathtaking. We are leaving for the Riviera Maya in 2 weeks. I don't think we'll make it to a cenote for the shoot like I initially wanted... I REALLY wish we could, but I don't think time will allow us. So, we're planning to do it the day after our wedding at our resort on the beach! Several of my friends have done a TTD before, and their dresses were perfectly fine afterwards. You just rinse it off in the shower, hang it up to air dry and then have it dry cleaned when they get home. I'm not worried about it at all. I guess the one benefit of doing the TTD at the cenote, if you are concerned about your dress with salt water, etc., is that the cenotes are all fresh water.
  20. Very excited for you as well! Unfortunately, we won't be there at the same time We leave February 4th... I'm a little over 2 weeks away. Early congrats to you! Your going to have an amazinggg time!! @@m8chow
  21. Thank you! I hope it's helpful to other brides @@krisdaversa
  22. Hi ladies! This is still a work in progress but here's the playlist I came up with so far. The majority of our guests are younger for our DW, but I incorporated some oldies in there too!
