  1. Thanks for the heads-up futuremrswarner, and great idea for a thread BridetoBe!!
  2. We're doing one OOT bag per person consisting of mesh drawstring beach bag, travel mug, travel aloe, clothespegs, and assorted goodies. Then we're doing an Oh Sh!t kit bag per room, containing mini dish soap and dishcloth, bandaids, tylenol, and other multi-person items. We're also giving each person an Airplane pack containing a pen (for filling out those Tourist Cards) hand sanitizer, snacks (lunch-size treats and cookies), kleenex and earplugs. So far, works out to about $12+tax per person! We have 17 guests plus our baby nephew, so it's totally budget-friendly.
  3. We're getting married Jan 20, 2013. I bought my dress at a sample sale in Jan 2012 - complete fluke, I went to the sale to help my friend look for a dress for her wedding... we both found dresses that day It's never too early to start looking and seeing what you actually like/dislike, so that when you find something you love, you'll know it's the one
  4. My dress has a long train also , but fortunately it's very light and airy. I am getting it bustled. BTW that dress is gorgeous
  5. My dress has a long train also , but fortunately it's very light and airy. I am getting it bustled.
  6. We're flying Transat, and my TA has assured me that there will be space for my dress. HOWEVER, I will definitely be taking Gipsymoth's advice! My dress also ended up being more ornate with longer train than I'd originally envisioned
  7. Barash, I'm sure you will be perfect. Bare feet on the sand... sigh! Depending on your resort and time of day, you may want a cute pair of flipflops to walk in as backup in case the sand is super-hot tho.
  8. We have 17 guests including our parents and attendants, plus brand-new baby nephew. I got drawstring mesh beach bags from Dollarama for $1.25 each, which will contain travel mugs (with personalized inserts), keycard holders, and assorted goodies. JustInCase bags - 1 per room, so 9 bags (bandaids, pepto chewables, tylenol blister packs, Tide detergent travel packs, mini dish soap + dishrag, etc) I'm also making Airplane goodie bags with earplugs, tissues, gum, pen, and snacks. Minimus has great deals on travel-size goodies, and they have a large selection. Cheaptravelsizes.com also has amazing prices, I got 2oz bottles of aloe for $0.99 each!! FI and I each have a 2-bag allowance so the OOT bags and decorations should all fit no problem.
  9. Drat, I wish I'd thought of getting these 2 months ago when they were on sale! Oh well, we're still giving out insulated mugs
  10. Wow - we have 17 guests plus a baby (brand-new nephew!) plus ourselves, so not that many OOT bags to worry about. And we're all flying down together, but I want to give them out at the resort - I'll probably get my MoH and BMs to help me. Also, FI and I upgraded our flight (yay for tall FI) and one of the perks is extra checked baggage We're not bringing a huge amount of other stuff either, so I'm pretty sure we'll be ok. I don't know how I would've organized many more guests than we have.
  11. Where are you ladies finding these beach chair covers? They are so nice! I think my girls and our moms would really like them.
  12. We're doing mugs too, and I was trying to think of a way to include dish soap - the idea of tubes is genius! Thank you for posting all this info
  13. Thank you for the list of goodies and links - I'd already found minimus.biz, but I'm going to look on cheaptravelsizes.com also. Go DIY brides
  14. Grr!! I want to see what's so funny!! I really want to put Spanish phrases as part of my OOT, and judging by responses this should do the ticket - but I'm way away from 150 posts!
  15. Wow MJKH, those are amazing! I am definitely using your room key holders - that's brilliant! I love useful and practical gifts.
  16. Ooh, what a great idea! Thank you for posting this - and everyone else, you've made it look easy enough that I'm going to attempt them! Wish me luck
  17. Wow, it's so nice to see such a variety We are definitely lucky ladies. I'm not big on rings - I always catch them on things! FI joked that he was going to get me a giant 3 carat engineered diamond ring (no one would know it was "faux", and it would be GIANT!!) I quickly disabused him of that idea LOL!! Here's what he got - I absolutely love it! (I was cooking with curry the day before - stuff really stains!) This is the night we got engaged, just over a year ago. It's a 0.5carat center diamond with a triple cluster and 4 pave on either side. I'm not sure what kind of wedding band will go with it - I haven't really liked any of the ones we've looked at so far. FI doesn't even wear a watch, so wearing a ring will be something new for him.
