  1. To book a block of 10 rooms, we have to put down a deposit of $100 per room. I think we are just paying that for everyone, and then only the clothing for the bridal party. We are paying for his parents to go, as they couldn't afford to go otherwise
  2. After reading some things on this site, I started looking at the Riu and Iberostar resorts, but their websites aren't very user friendly at all, and the costs are very similar. I like being able to go to a website and find answers to most of my questions, so I think Beaches it is!
  3. Just placed my first order from them last night! Only paid shipping! Ordered my save the dates and a bunch of stuff for OOT bags! Thanks for the info ladies!
  4. I like this, especially how big the "passports needed" writing is. I can't imagine what would happen if someone forgot!
  5. I think we're getting our parents gifts. For our dads, a deep sea fishing day in Jamaica when we're there, but not sure what to get our moms yet...
  6. From reading these posts, I don't think I'll wait to send out my save the dates. I was going to wait until a year before the wedding to send them out, but now I think I'll send them out as soon as I make them!
  7. Great ideas everyone! I like the idea of having a sheet for all the guests to list the room numbers of others so they are easily found.
  8. Ever since we first got together, we have talked about getting matching tattoos, like a symbol that means love or family or harmony. Maybe we'll do that? I know we'd rather spend our money on others, so getting a gift that doesn't mean much doesn't really appeal to uus
  9. We are planning on spending the night before the wedding together, then I think we will go to breakfast, just the two of us, to have a little breather before the wedding and to have some alone time, as I'm sure we will be smothered by family and friends the days leading up to it. But as soon a breakfast is over, we're note seeing each other until the wedding (planning a late afternoon wedding, so we'll have plenty of time to spend apart from each other!)

  11. Some great ideas in here, glad I gave myself more than enough time to read through each forum before my wedding!
  12. From reading all of these posts, I think I might now wait until almost the last possible minute to buy my dress, and spend all the time up until then looking! Not to mention I've started a weight loss plan for my wedding, so I have no clue what size I will be

  14. We love traveling, and like to share that passion with our family and friends. Last year, we took my parents on a cruise and had so much fun. I was just planning on it being a smaller wedding with our parents, and one friend (and their guest) each. However, many more people have shown interest, and it could be a fun time! Of course we will want some time alone after the wedding (after all, it is our honeymoon too!). Also, we moved to Minnesota about 6 months ago from Idaho, and most of our family and friends are there. So we were originally planning on having a wedding there. So it was either a destination wedding to Idaho (bleh!) or to somewhere tropical... hard choice!
  15. Yeah, I think we might go with the Beautiful Beginnings package and then add additional items, like the arch and maybe some different flowers. I'm thinking I can get at least 20 people. I should be putting down a deposit on a block of 10 rooms here pretty quick, so hopefully everyone who said they'd like to go, will! I liked Beaches Negril because Sandals is close so we can go there to get away if we want, as well as the other Beaches resort. We have family/friends coming from all over the country, so our bachelor/bachelorette parties will have to be down there. I like that we can be at different resorts so we don't run into each other. Where else are you looking? Other all-inclusives?
  16. Hello everyone! I am new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself! My name is Melissa, and my fiance Joey and I are getting married at a Beaches resort in Negril, Jamaica in August of 2013. We are within a few days of putting a deposit down on a block of rooms! More people have shown interest in going than I have ever thought would. It's so exciting! Can't wait to really start planning!
