  1. Thank you! I will definitely try David's Bridal. Wish me luck!
  2. Hi Ladies, I was hoping some of you might be able to help me out. Can anyone suggest a place where I can buy a strapless waist cinching boustier/corset to wear underneath my dress? I am half an hour east of Toronto. I have found a bunch online, but I know that this is something that I have to try on. Thank you for your help! Melissa
  3. Love that mug!!! I think I might need to get one too!
  4. Hey Amjohnson, Wagjag is such an amazing site! It made me thing that there are so many discount sites, but I think that there are probably a lot more. So far I know about: Wagjag.com Groupon.com Teambuy.ca Dealticker.ca Jaunt.ca Livingsocial.com and the Kijiji Daily Deals Am I missing any? Please let me know! So far, I have purchased my MOH and Bridesmaid presents (Fresh Water Pearls) and our engagement photos, and I also considered buying a shoe deal, but decided that I would rather try them on first.
  5. Sunshine! What a great idea!! Thank you for sharing (and saving us some $$$$)
  6. Hi Ladies, This is the dress that I bought at Bride's Project in Toronto (Second Hand dresses where the proceeds go to a number of non profit Cancer foundations). I was very lucky in that when I got it home, I noticed that it was actually brand new and donated by a wedding boutique as it was last years style. If you get a chance, check out the Brides Project. http://www.thebridesproject.com/
  7. Hi Girls, I'll be at Dreams Palm Beach on April 4, 2012. Can't Wait!!!
  8. Adam Sandler - Billy Madison
  9. This is such a good idea! I might have to try this as I don't want to leave my bouquets until the last minute and have to risk what the resort has to offer!
  10. Hi Ladies, I haven't really seen a thread on this topic, but I've been researching different music for my ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, etc and I was a little bit stumped. I love music, but I didn't think that having a top 40 song to walk down the isle to was necessarily appropriate. So, I started doing some research. I stumbled across a record company (Vitamin Records) that does popular music covers with a string quartet. I went to Amazon.com and searched "vitamin records in mp3" and found 445 entries of different singles and albums in tribute form. They use a number of titles, but I find searching by the record company has really helped. My personal favorites? Maybe I'm Amazed - Tribute to Paul McCartney (Vitamin String Quartet Tribute To Valentines Day) God Bless the Broken Road - Tribute to Rascal Flatts (Strung Out Vol. 6) Your Song - Tribute to Elton John (Vitamin String Quartet Tribute To Valentines Day) Your Eyes - Tribute to Peter Gabriel (The Rock and Rolls Valentines Day Collection) All I Want Is You - Tribute to U2 (The Rock n Roll Wedding Tribute) I'll Be - Tribute to Edwin McCain (Strung Out Volume 6) It's Your Love - Tribute to Tim McGraw and Faith Hill (Vitamin String Quartet Tribute To Valentines Day) Everlong - Tribute to Foo Fighters Hallelujah - Tribute to Jeff Buckley (or Leonard Cohen) (Strung Out Vol. 9) Come Away With Me - Tribute to Norah Jones The best thing is, you can go through and preview every single song and then the downloads are only $0.99. My Fiance really loves the music (who knew?) and has even suggested using Vitamin String Tribute to Star Wars. (Good luck with that.) I also had a dinner party the other night and played a mix of this music (specifically Pearl Jam and Nirvana) and my friends husband asked me if I could make a copy of it for him as he loved it. I really hope that this helps some of you. I know that I will be using my iPod through my wedding day and I feel like I have a better handle on my music now, and I feel like it will appeal to all of my guests. Here is the link to the searched Amazon website: http://www.amazon.com/s/qid=1313510696/ref=sr_shvl_1-all?ie=UTF8&keywords=vitamin%20records&rh=n%3A163856011%2Cn%3A%21624868011%2Ck%3Avitamin%20records%2Cp_n_feature_browse-bin%3A625150011 If anyone has some more suggestions - In terms of tribute music by vitamin records or another source - please feel free to add it here. I would love any input on piano or acoustic guitar tributes as well! Melissa
  11. Hi Ladies, Has anyone heard anything about streaming live video of DPB weddings for at home friends and family? I know on the website, they said that they were heading in that direction, but nothing yet. Does anybody have any inside track on this one? Thanks! Melissa
  12. Hi Torrilynnsmith - I added a picture, but it is holding it to review as I am a 'Newbie.' Hopefully it will appear soon! Hey Celticgirl - It is a dollarama -243 KING STREET EAST, Bowmanville.
  13. Hi Ladies, I'm not sure if anyone is interested in coming as far as Bowmanville (50km east of Toronto), but I was just at the Dollarstore in the Bowmanville Mall and they had $2 spf 30 Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen (240 ml) and $2 aloe vera spray bottles (360 ml). I only took 8 of each and there are a number left. Might be worth the time for some of the other Durham area brides. Happy shopping!! Melissa
  14. Hi Ladies!!! We are getting married on April 4th, 2012!!! Thank you for starting a new post! This is going to help a lot! We had the same dilemma as many of you that we wanted to get married with a judge, but didn't want a 1:30 ceremony. Mercy was able to arrange for us to sign our paperwork on April 3rd with the judge and then have the ceremony on April 4th at 4:30. I would love loved to sign the paperwork on the same date, but it was more important for us to not see eachother earlier in the day. Another thing that I heard from my travel agent / wedding designer is that they are building a new beach gazebo? Has anybody heard anything about this? Apparently there aren't any pictures yet as it is still in the works. I have asked to get pictures when it is done. When and if I do, I will definitely post them! Can't wait to read more about all of you!! Melissa
  15. Hi Ladies! Great idea with the new post and congratulations Sarah! We have our wedding booked for April 4th, 2012. I'll definitely subscribe to this thread to see if there is any updates. Here might be one - My wedding / travel agent just told me this week that they are building a new gazebo for beach ceremonies. There aren't any pictures yet, but once I get them, I will pass them along! Melissa
  16. Hi Ladies! I was wondering the same thing as Jillbu11 about the different reception locations. As far as I understand (for a group of 20 or so people), I can consider a reception on the beach, poolside or in one of the restaurants. I am at the beginning stages of my wedding planning and will put putting a deposit down for DPB within the next week or so. Any thoughts or advice or pictures that would help decide would be greatly appreciated!! How did you all decide? Thank you!!! M
