So we knew when we started planning a DW that we might have to sacrifice things and knew that some people wouldn't be able to come. However, my FI's brother was one person we knew we had to have there since his brother is pretty much the only family he has. His brother was unsure if he could make it because he was having financial issues. Being so important to us, we offered to pay for half his and his wife's trip. We booked and paid for it a couple months ago. Today, we found out that they made an offer on a house and it was accepted. We also have to pay for his mom because she has no means to come. We are by NO means rich. We are both students and have been students for about 7 years. We have been working our butts off to pay for our life while we go to school, and it hasn't been easy. We are pretty good with our money though, but we've made many sacrifices, including living in crap-hole places. I just don't really feel like it's fair. I think about my hard earned money paying for them to make it while they get a brand new house out of it. It just doesn't seem right. They do have a 1.5 year old baby so that's why they've sort of had financial issues. I had no idea they were thinking of buying a house. Am I crazy??

Ok so I was finally able to get my BMs together to look for BM dresses. I wasn't too worried about it. When we went there yesterday, they asked when my wedding is, and they are like, you reaaaaallly need to get on that!! We ended up picking a great dress but I had to pay $40 per dress extra to rush it. They said it would be June 1st without the rush, and we leave on the 6th. I need to ship one of the dresses south to my BM and she'll need to get alterations if necessary. Now, with the $40 per dress (I am getting 3) it will come April 21st. That makes me feel better, but I can't believe I had to pay that fee. I had NO idea I was cutting it so close! Thank god we were able to get together when we did!! If you are planning on getting your BM dress from an actual bridal place and haven't done it yet, do it!! I'm sure most people were smarter than me and planned way ahead lol

Ok I just wanted to say...I've been realizing how many people are starting to come on here that are 2012 brides and it's freaking me out!! I realize that I have less than 4 months left! It freaks me out in a good way. I have a lot to do!! Seeing all these late 2012 brides make me really notice how little time I have! Anyone else feel this way??? I remember when there were still a lot of 2010 brides around planning their wedding!

I had been planning on buying another dress for TTD...I even started looking to buy one. Recently, I started thinking...why would I buy another dress to trash? I am going to be extremely excited for another excuse to wear my dress again! I love it, so I will llove wearing it again. Chances are, I'll be able to clean it well enough and it won't be wrecked. It'll just sit at home in my closet for the next 30 years anyway!! So I've decided to just wear the same dress again. Mine isn't too heavy so it won't be impossible.

I have been using Vistaprint for quite a few months now, and have recieved many many free items. In January when my free offers expired, I thought I was done. I couldn't find the free offers I wanted, just the basic free stuff, and I wasn't receiving many free offers. FOr some reason, I decided to sign up for a different vistaprint account using a differnet email. I then forgot to check that email for awhile, and had nothing to order on Vistaprint. Upon checking that email, I have about 7 emails with so many free offers, I can get anything I want whenever I want!! So, the message here is that if you have been ordering from vistaprint but haven't received many offers recently, try signing up again with another email and leaving it. I'm pretty sure they slow down the offers when you are active in ordering things!!!

Haha i just did this with my adorable shih tzu/schnauzer....he just melted!!! Lol he's already a very cuddly dog...but I absolutely loved this!!

I am not in your situation so I don't know exactly how this would go over, but I think maybe just explaining why he shouldn't come, not inviting him, and just inviting your mom would be ok. And I am wondering...I actually have a possible 2 alcoholics coming to my wedding (that sounds insincere, but one is a great friend and one is my FI's dad...) is it possible to get her a child's bracelet? This was suggested to us... you know at an all inclusive resort how you get an adult bracelt or a child's bracelt, and if you have the child's bracelt they don't serve alcohol? Do you think that would work? I know it's tough, especially at a wedding situation. If worse comes to worse, maybe you can choose someone that can take care of her so you don't have to deal with her all night. That also sounds kind of mean but it is your day and you don't want to remember it taking care of your mother.

I am struggling with the idea of buying a new dress for TTD or using my dress. I am willing to wear it in the ocean and the sand but I'm afraid I'd be too ... worried about it to enjoy it. I also saw an amazing pic using paint and I'd never paint my real dress!! So I can't decide.

Hey-- we were going to have our reception at the palmeras and we are only having around 25 and it was fine...someone else just had it for the day so we are doing it at the mariachi. She said that we'd have to have the strawberry passion package to get the palmeras.

I've had such an issue with this. Even if they ship to Canada, sometimes I find amazing things and go to my cart and it's like $45 in shipping or something on like a $10 order. It is definitely frustrating. I found a lot on Victoria secret I wanted but it wasn't worth the shipping!!

I'm thinking...(though I haven't given it much thought)... Old: a ring my mom gave me and that I've been wearing every day since I was 16 New: Probably jewellry or the locket I am getting in memory of my mom. Borrowed: I plan on just winging that one, finding something I want to borrow from someone else Blue: Maybe ribbon or underwear lol

We thought about doing a group booking thing, but I didn't like the idea. What we are doing is we gave the info to book and some good sites to use and have our guests book themselves. However, for those of our guests who never travel and are therefore not very "travel smart," we gave them the option of giving us the money and having us book for them. I was worried because I wanted to make sure they were booking at the right Barcelo, in the riviera maya, and some of my family would have gotten it wrong!! So far we have about 10 people booked and we've booked 8 of them using our computer and their money!! I like the feeling of control and ease...lol

Our ceremony is 2pm... we want the moment I walk down the isle to be the first time we see each other that day...it means a lot to me. Therefore I want the pictures done after the ceremony. We would have done 3pm but it was taken, and anything after that might be bad for the lighting. Our reception is at 6:30. We don't want a cocktail hour b ecause....well, it's all inclusive lol. I don't want to be in a hurry and stressed out so I want to take time with pictures.

I don't know--which means I'm sure it's over budget. We have been bad and haven't been keeping track of anything. We haven't really decided to include anything waay out of our budget but if we really want something, we'll do it. We aren't rich but this is our big day!! We are also very reasonable people, though, and aren't going to blow it for stuff that doesn't matter. To be honest I don't want to know how much its' going to cost total!! I'll have to soon though...

I just wanted to see if anyone else feels this way. I am getting married in June at Barcelo, and have been in steady contact with Claudia, our WC. Lately, however, it has seemed like she doesn't know what is going on. I felt very happy originally because she seemed organized and got back to me quickly. However, on a few occasions, she has emailed me for the "next step" and it's something we've already decided on and emailed her about. This happened with the menu, where she emailed us saying the next step is the menu when we had already picked it, and even came up with a vegetarian option that was different than the one on the menu. Today I just got an email from her that said we need to start filling out this document thing (the planning spreadsheet thing) when we had started it months ago! I'm sure it will all work out but this makes me nervous about the things we agreed on a long time ago, such as my ceremony location and reception location. Because I have to wait so long for emails, I usually just answer her question so we can get onto the next step. Should I just ask for her to confirm with me everything we have agreed upon so far? I hate putting a halt in the process by doing this because I'm always waiting for a new email to do the next step but I have printed out things that say my locations on them. What do you think??
