    Hi there!

Hi and welcome to posting! I love Ochos Rios--wonderful area! Best of luck with all your planning!
  2. Congrats and welcome! I agree with the others that Jamaica is wonderful (climbing Dunn's River Falls is a must for any adventurous guests you bring along!). Good luck with your planning!
  3. Unfortunately, I haven't been to Maui (I wish!), but I think there might be some good stuff in the wedding reviews sub-forum. I would guess that there's lots of great info in the Maui section as well. Also, a travel agent can be a useful resource--give you a sense of prices, resorts to start looking at, etc. Good luck!
  4. Hi Courtney, I'd recommend starting by narrowing to either east or west coast of Mexico. There are so many great resorts to choose from, that it can get a bit overwhelming at times. We've been looking at Riviera Maya and Cancun for (approximately) the last month, and we are still deciding between around 6 resorts. If you want suggestions on particular resorts, the wedding review sub-forum is a great place to look. You can read about other people's experiences. Good luck!

    Hi!!

Hi Emily! Congrats on your engagement and welcome to the forums! Lots of great info here. Best of luck!
  6. Hi and congrats on your engagement! You might consider talking to travel agents. They can help you by running approximate flight costs from different cities, which might help you narrow down a country. We chose Mexico because for us (guests mainly on East and West Coast), it was in the middle. Cancun/Riviera Maya worked well because there are so many direct flights, which also keeps costs down. Other than that, thinking about the overall feel of the place you want (more exciting? more relaxed?) and possible activities (adventure? cultural?) can help you narrow it down. Hope this helps! Good luck!
  7. Welcome! Moon Palace should be great. Yeah, this site can be a bit overwhelming, but that's just cuz there's so much terrific info. Definitely check out the Riviera Maya forum, and you might want to do a search of the wedding reviews--I'm sure that there are a bunch of people who got married at Moon Palace and have lots of thoughts to share. =)

Wow, my Fi and I really want to go to St. Lucia...maybe for the honeymoon. =) Welcome and congrats. You'll find lots of good info on here.
  9. Welcome! We also considered both of those; both look great. Good luck with your planning!
  10. Thanks for the info, gals! I have light colored eyes too, so that's probably my reason for light sensitivity. Well, I've booked a consultation for Friday! I'm so excited! But now I'm starting to get nervous that they'll tell me that I'm not a good candidate.... Eeeeek... Just got to wait and see!

    Hello!

Welcome! I agree--SF City Hall is stunning! A wonderful place for a wedding. The area around it is not the world's greatest, though. It wouldn't bother me; but I know it bothers some people. But San Francisco is one of my very favorite places; I'm sure you'll have a great time! Anyhow, congratulations and good luck with all your plans. =)
  12. Welcome and good luck with your planning! I would definitely recommend checking out the Moon Palace threads and reviews on here. Though I'm not planning on going with Moon Palace, I know that there is a lot of info on that resort here.
  13. Welcome! I'm sure you'll find some info on here, even if it's a less common resort, because everyone's so helpful. Good luck with your planning!
  14. Hi Cassandra! Welcome to the forums! We're considering Dreams PA too. Looks very nice. I'd love to hear more as your planning gets going!
  15. Welcome! I've never made it out of the airport in Hawaii, so I'm no use to you for that, but I'd really recommend looking at the Maui forum on here. You might even try searching "weather" under Maui. There's so much useful info on this site, and people are really helpful! Good luck with your planning!
  16. Welcome! I've never been to the Virgin Islands, but I have a friend from there. She tells me how beautiful it is. Good luck with all your planning. These forums have lots of great info!
  17. I hear Dreams Riviera Cancun is great. Definitely very pretty. Welcome and happy planning!
  18. Congrats! Where's the wedding gonna be?
  19. Congrats and welcome! Gran Caribe Real is one of our top contenders. Looks like a beautiful resort. I'd love to hear more as your planning continues!
  20. Happy to welcome another Riviera Maya bride on here! This forum is great and has lots of info! I know firsthand how easy it is to get overwhelmed while planning, but everyone here is super helpful. I'm sure you'll get your questions answered! =)
  21. Congrats and welcome! Puerto Vallarta should be great!
  22. Wow, lot of great info here! Those of you who brought a photographer with you for just the cost of travel + rooms, how did you find them? That seems like it could be a great option!

    Hi, I'm new!

Welcome! Everyone on this site is super helpful; good luck with your planning!
  24. Ooh, Maui! I'm jealous! Congrats and happy planning!
  25. Hi, I'd agree with the others who said that there are several resorts in the Cancun/Riviera Maya region where you could meet that budget. If you're interested in looking into those, you could start by glancing at the great Riviera Maya map posted as a sticky in the RM forum. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...era-maya-2278/ It was a helpful starting place for us, especially since it rates hotels as "moderate," "superior," "deluxe," etc.
