  1. Hi Alana! Welcome and congrats. I agree that a search on invitations is a good idea. You might also check the "Invitations, STDs, photos & website" sub-forum, to see lots of examples. Invitations, STDs, photos & website - Best Destination Wedding Forum ~ The Ultimate Destination Wedding Resource Good luck with your planning!
  2. Hi and welcome; I wish I knew the answer to your question.... Have you considered booking the wedding itself at a nearby Catholic church? A TA who is familiar with DR might be helpful for you. You also might try posting your question in the DR section--probably a lot of very knowledgeable people over there. Best of luck!
  3. Hi and welcome, Laura! Lots of great info and friendly people on here! Best of luck with everything!
  4. Welcome and congrats! I know there are also some reviews of Dreams Tulum under the wedding reviews sub-forum. They might give you some in-depth info on other people's experiences. Good luck!
  5. Hi and welcome! In addition to the PV section, you can also look in the wedding reviews sub-forum to see what people thought about individual resorts. Good luck!
  6. Hi and welcome! In addition to the thread, you might want to check out the wedding reviews sub-forum. I'm sure some people have reviewed that one. You might get some good insight. Best of luck with your planning!

Congrats and welcome! Everyone on here is very helpful and friendly. Happy planning!
  9. It was a little over 1.5 when we got engaged, but it will be almost 3.5 when we get married...
  10. Hi and Welcome! To read more about that resort, you might try checking out the wedding reviews forum....lots of resorts are covered in there and you can learn about others' experiences with them. Though they don't have prices finalized for next year, your TA or the resort should be able to offer you a general idea, at least about the current pricing. It can all be super overwhelming, but just remember that the end result will be a beautiful wedding in a beautiful location! =) Good luck with everything!
  11. Wow, thanks everyone! So many great ideas! =) I'm leaning towards maybe a pink and one other color, possibly a natural green or a blue... I'd love it if the groom and groomsmen wore gray, so that color will be in. But adding orange would definitely evoke those gorgeous Mexican sunsets... Lucy, I can tell from your leftovers that your wedding must have been beautiful! And AishaB, thanks for the pics... very inspirational! Reminds me why I love purple so much. =)
  12. Hi all, I'm trying to pick wedding colors. I know I want a deep purple color as the main one (matches my engagement ring!), but I'm not sure what else. I'd like them to feel a bit tropical together, but our wedding won't be on the beach, so it doesn't need to be super beachy. I've seen a lot of lime green. I think they look good together, but I'm not really a lime green person. What other colors do you think would work? Magenta? Some kind of blue? Any ideas will help!
  13. Congrats and welcome! I'm getting married on November 11, 2011. Great to see some more early planners on here! =) Best of luck with everything!
  14. Sounds great! Welcome and best of luck with planning! I'm sure you'll find lots of helpful resources on here; everyone's super friendly!
  15. Wow! Those will both be amazing places for weddings! I'm sure there's some info on this site to help you. Welcome and congrats!
  16. Hi and welcome! Might be easiest to narrow down to a general location, then compare resorts. We picked Riviera Maya/Cancun because the flight costs will be lower for most of our guests than other areas. Then we started looking at which resorts were in the area. We're still narrowing down our list, but picking a location made it much easier because there are so many resorts to choose from. A travel agent can be really helpful for price info. Good luck!
  17. Angie, who are you using, if you don't mind me asking? It's awesome that she gave you such a fantastic deal!
  18. Welcome! You'll find lots of great info on here!
  19. Congrats on your engagement, Whitney! It's all brand new right now; don't stress out! =) This site has lots of helpful info and you have lots of time! Good luck with planning!
  20. Hi Celeste, welcome! Yup, it's great that we're pretty much all in the same boat here. =) Congrats on your engagement! Definitely take a look around the site; people have written a lot about the resorts you're considering. The search tool is your friend, haha. Also, I'd check out the wedding reviews section to read about people's experiences....I'm pretty sure all the ones you've mentioned have been reviewed. Good luck with your planning!
  21. Hi Sarah! Yes, this site is definitely addictive, but super useful too! Welcome and happy planning!
  22. Welcome and congrats! There are lots of very friendly and helpful people here, so I'm sure you'll find all kinds of great info. The Dominican Republic forum is packed full of useful information, and lots of people have posted DR reviews in the wedding review sub-forum. Best of luck!
  23. Welcome and congrats! I'm getting married in Nov. 2011 in Cancun (or Riviera Maya) too! If you feel like it, you can post on the November 2011 Brides thread I started in the RM/Cancun forum. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-grooms-57903/ I think it's nice to get to know all the other folks who've started planning early! =)
  24. Great idea! And it looks beautiful. What a fun way to be able to look back on your wedding and the people who share it with you. =)
