  1. I'm sorry to hear that. I can totally relate though... my future MIL is the same with us. Our wedding is 10 months away and she is already driving me nuts. She wants a big extravagant wedding and neither of us want that. It's just not us. I think you need to go throught with what you and your fiancé want. It's your day, after all!
  2. Welcome!!!!! It's always great to see another Canadian on here!
  3. Does anyone have any feedback from Adrian or the staff at Studio H Playa? Studio H Playa StudioH Playa | Facebook I was about to book Fernando Fuentes but decided to look at other options as I find him to be a bit expensive. Adrian's prices are in the same range, althought a bit cheaper and his work seems just as great. I'd love to see pictures if anyone has used the staff at Studio H!

How exciting! :) You can find all the information on packages and extras on here: Wedding Packages - Palladium Weddings
  6. Thanks for your feedback ladies! We are, for sure, getting gifts for our bridal party. I believe my fiancé will be getting cigars, tequila and I'm not sure what else for his guys. As for the girls, I will be getting them the same jewelry to wear on the wedding day, tank tops for the wedding day as well and other girly things. I definitely want to get some mugs though for everyone to hand out with the welcome letter. I think it's a nice gesture, plus wouldn't put us over budget! I agree that most things that are included in the OOT bag, people already bring with them. I know I bring it all when I go down south... and we'll have the restroom baskets for those who don't. Is everyone carrying their mugs in their luggage or is anyone having them shipped directly to the resort??
  7. Both of our rings are coming out of the wedding budget. Since his is much cheaper than mine... I'm trying to convince him to let me have 2 wedding bands... one on each side of my e-ring.
  8. So... I'm wondering if I'm the only bride-to-be who's not doing an OOT bag? Honestly, our wedding is already costing us way more than our planned budget, plus I feel like I have quite a bit of stuff on my plate already and don't feel like putting an OOT bag together plus bringing it all down south... Am I being selfish?? We will be doing a basket of various products (Tylenol|Advil, Pepto Bismol, Tide-to-go, Anti-shine wipes, etc) in the women's and men's washrooms at the reception...
  9. Wow!!! Thanks for sharing! It sure looks like I have a lot left to do!
  10. Congrats!!!!!!! The pictures are gorgeous. It looks like you had a great time! We are thinking about the Royal for our honeymoon

  12. Thanks for sharing, ladies! I'm also looking for hair/makeup in Riviera Maya for next year. I am about to book Fernando Fuentes but find that he is a bit expensive. Would you mind sharing the contact info for Waves? Thanks a bunch!
  13. A new job offer! Now... if my boss can just let me accept it, I'll be even happier!
  14. Congrats!!! You looked absolutely gorgeous!!!! I love your makeup, your shoes and your flowers!!! Beautiful!
  15. I had a hard time choosing my ceremony and reception time as well. In the end, we decided on having the ceremony at 4PM and the reception at 7PM (this was the standard time, we didn't really have a choice). I didn't want my guests to have to be ready for an early ceremony and then have a few hours until the reception. I really wanted everyone to stay together while we were taking our pictures. We are doing a cocktail hour from 5PM until 7ish. That way, the guests will go to the ceremony, then to the cocktail hour and the reception... they won't have to do their own thing or wait until a few hours later to go on with the day.
  16. Are you all paying for your bridesmaids' makeup and hair?? I have 3 bridesmaid and I would like to pay for them... but I'm thinking of hiring Fernando Fuentes also and it would add up to more than 1000$ for everyone... it seems a bit much. They could always go to the resort's beauty salon to get their hair and makeup done but I would really like for them to get ready with me. We would just all have a good time if we were all together!
  17. We're in the same boat!! We were thinking about going to Cabo for 3-4 days... but we have to look into it some more. It might cost us quite a bit of money since we'd have to get back on a plane from Cancun to Cabo... I definitely want something different for our honeymoon and I'm not sure I really want to stay in the Riviera Maya area for an extra week...
  18. Congrats and welcome! I'm sure you'll find lots of information on here to help you make your decision!!!
  19. I think we're just going to spell out the numbers in spanish and have the actual number faded in the back ground. I'm thinking of adding a border in the same template from our invitations.
  20. I'm sorry you have to go through this!! I was also having problems with my fiancé's ex for a little while... but blocking her completely from our emails, facebook, etc, kept her away. Thank goodness!
