Thanks - it's nothing like I would have picked on my own - so whenever you go try dresses on make sure you take a few of every style to choose. YOu might be pleasantly surprised! Which websites have you looked at real touch flowers on? I've seen a few different sites for them but I really love real flowers - so I'm at a crossroads. Plus I'm worried about taking a whole bunch of things down there!

It doesn't help that I have no patience and have trouble waiting for things! Congrats on buying your dress! Exciting! Any plans to post a picture of it on BDW? Ashlynn, I am feeling the exact same way. I have no patience at all when it comes to things like this.. I always want things done like yesterday, so this is really testing my patience! I'll probably put a picture of it on BDW in the future when I try it on again looking half decent lol.. but here is the link to it! It's the diamond white color though so more of an Ivory rather than the white dress that is in the picture and looks 100 times better in person - I'm in love. https://www.alfredangelo.com/Collect...spx?style=2082

It makes me nervous! (I know I want to get married on the beach but that is all I know) Any suggestions, etc?? October 19, 2010 - but we have not paid our deposit yet.. she is taking forever to get back to me regarding it.. so now I'm starting to get stressed out. Thinking by the time she gets back to e-mail she's going to say.. "sorry the 19th is now booked!" ARGH. Anyways I think you have to have at least 150 posts before you can open or download attachments on here! So far not a lot of planning has been done - originally we started planning an at home wedding (we've been engaged for two years) so I've been in the process of cancelling things here.. Although I did just purchase my wedding gown last saturday and was able to take it home that day (I was the first one to try it on!!). Other than that I've just been gathering ideas and started making my invitations/stds! I feel like I'm waaaaaaaaaay behind some of the other girls on here.

  5. We got engaged at about 3 years.. By the time we get married we will have known each other for over 6 years, been dating for over 5 years and engaged for 2 years

I completely agree - most of the time the dresses you like on the hanger and what you actually end up getting are two tooooooooootally different things!! Definitely try it on in a store before you purchase it online, you'd hate to spend all that money to get the dress and hate the way that it looks on you. When you do go to the store.. be open minded and try on a little of everything.

I think Gia would grow bored of him waaaaaay too quickly. you're right he is definitely a pussy man hahaha P.S. *Heather* - your anniversary is a great date.. it's two days after the date we picked.. plus the 21st of October is my birthday

But let's face it.. she's probably lying anyways.. no one ever said these girls had to act real..
  11. Hey Ashley! I'm from the Edmonton region - good to see another Alberta bride on BDW.. We are getting married October 2010 in Riviera Maya as well - but at the new Dreams Riviera Cancun! You'll find lots of information here to help you decide on a location and much much more!! Happy planning
  12. Just joining this thread but I've been watching this season of the Bachelor since the beginning and Wow there has been a huge amount of DRAMA. I love Tenley & Ali is a close favorite but her voice bugs me. Jake is too quirky for me - he's definitely not my type.. something about him seems a little off to me ?!? I think this is why he has kept Vienna around for this long.. (but thats just my opinion!) or it could be to boost ratings and add to the drama of the show - shocking a reality show that hasn't been somewhat scripted? Don't get me wrong I love reality shows!) This show is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine - thanks for this
  13. Holy Wow - I agree with many of the Brides on here, I'd report them to the Better Business Bureau.. but that doesn't really help you out when it comes to your dress at the moment. You should probably go into the store where you purchased the dress and confront the owner and seamstress - you'll make more of an impact than you would by just having a conversation on the phone. I'd tell them you aren't going to leave until the problem is resolved either by them giving you options on ways the dress can be fixed and if it isn't suited to your liking they will have to put a rush order in for your exact dress.. at their cost! Remember though you catch more bees with honey than vinegar - just be firm!
  14. Welcome to the Forums! We also ditched our previous plans to get married in the Mountains as well. Destination weddings are more fun anyways (or so I Hope!) - Best of luck to you

You can check out her site and she is on Facebook for all the different designs - as they are all hand painted you can pretty much get whatever. I have already spoken to Mishka and what I love is they also deliver these to your hotel, depends on where but I believe DRC was USD 40 delivery charge Thanks Boo - Her stuff is awesome. Did you order maracas from her?
  16. Very Nice looking, I'm doing the boarding pass for our Invites/STD all in one!! And I noticed your from Edmonton - ME TOO!

That gives us an elegant red feel and a fun, carribean blue - but we need to decide how we use them now. But I agree turquoise is a fantastic color and can to so many ways. For the peacock feel, you can focus on the turquoise and use the darker blue as an accent color. There's a thread in here about blue flowers! Good luck. Turquoise and Red nice choice - that is what my FI & I are leaning towards.. it's just such a stunning color combination
  19. I have seen this idea around on here - you could probably try searching and see where others got theirs from.. Here is another place that I know of that does the maraca's - she personally does them and is located in PVR so she will ship them to the resort.. that way you don't have the hassle of taking them down there with you! Mishka Designs' Blog: A Maraca By Any Other Name... I think it's a great idea that I will most likely using for my wedding as long as it isn't too much money

BUT, i will never do any of the procedures like lapband or gastric bypass because they do not fix your HEAD, and *that* is where my problem lies, lol. they wouldn't work for me because they operate on the premise that you won't continue to eat things that make you SICK or eat beyond the point of feeling full (which should happen quickly with your newly minimized stomach capacity). i can't tell you how often i have eaten well beyond being full or feeling ill. overeating is a serious problem and for me, it's mental. no physical surgery can fix that. however, my girlfriend at work got her gastric bypass surgery done in puerto vallarta almost two years ago, looks absolutely amazing, and i'm definitely jealous. something else to consider: the divorce rate for people who have undergone radical weight-altering surgery is many times higher than for those who have not. I completely agree - My problem is more psychological, I use food for comfort so no matter if I had surgery or not I'm sure I would gain the weight back and probably more than I had lost in the first place. I know that I need to make a lifestyle change to get healthy rather than strictly to lose weight.. I know that in order to live a longer/healthier life I should probably start dropping the pounds, but even still I can't motivate myself to go to the Gym. As a kid it wasn't like I was overweight, I was always the chubby girl with a pretty face.. it's only been in the past few years that I've really been unhappy with my size and have really put on the pounds... yet I do nothing to change the situation. UGH!
