  1. I've seen some people use a large shell for the ring bearers....something you could definitely find once at your destination.....this is the route I'm going, plus it ties in with the whole beach themed wedding. For the flower girl, I had seen this idea about guest having "wedding wands" instead of tossing petals....and thought what about this type of idea for the flower girl....something like a fairy wand. My flower girl is going to be 17 months when i get married and didn't think she'd really be able to handle a basket with petals or flowers!
  2. Hi Liam! Boy was I excited to see you joined the forum. My Fi and I actually chatted with you at the wedding show here in Halifax a little while ago! We're going to be contacting you for our engagement shots, I just love your work!!! We're just waiting for some better weather first! Good luck on the forum....it takes a while to figure it all out! Anita
  3. Amanda Peet= The Whole Ten Yards

I told my TA to check again in June and that I'm not locking in prices until they are closer to the $1500-1700 range which I am told probably won't drop to that until the fall. Yikes is right! That just doesn't seem right! Is that just for a regular room....not for the honeymoon suite or something right I would definitely not be locking down at that price.....I would wait and maybe shop around!

Lowest price so far has been $698 + $272 tases AI. We leave April 14 and haven't booked yet as prices are still coming down! Chatting with Signature availability on the flights have not been a problem yet for our party of 15. Have fun planning! wow that's a fantastic price! Oh i so wish I was back on the west coast and had the opportunity at wonderful deals like that!
  7. Oh Jo! Your dress looks amazing! All that worry for nothing!!!! So glad you're happy!!!
  8. let's see we got engaged after being together for 13 months....by the time we get married we'll have been together for 2 years 3 months! But then we bought a place and I moved across the country to be with him after only 4 months!
  9. i say take your parents up on their offer! Living rent free and saving (as long as you do save!!!!) is a great opportunity especially with your FI out of a job at the moment!
  10. We chose Dreams Tulum without knowing prices.....I kind of went off the pricing from this year. Just know that the quotes you're going to get initially are going to be high regardless of where you look....it's just b/c the pricing isn't officially out yet, and over time will drop. I say pick a resort you want, initially we focused too much on the price for our guests....and the people that really want to be there will be there regardless of the price!

I love how honest you are! I completely agree though! Having a destination wedding means not having all those extra people there that you didn't really want in the first place!
  12. Bikegirl.....Maritime Travel are our 3rd try at a TA. I did a search on their website to see if there was a local agent that specialized in weddings, and there are 3 just at the mall by me. When we popped in there was just one lady there, but she was one of the 3 specialists. She said she plans about 12 weddings a year, and already has 4 on the go for next year.....we're hoping we've found our final TA!

  14. Margret, that's a shame! Maybe you could use this dress for a TTD session?!?!?! I will be patient! Thanks for the heads up! 17. I'm still waiting to hear about the cupcakes....just thought I'd give a little update. Natalia emailed me back not knowing what cupcakes are, so I emailed her back a picture, and she's emailed thanking me for the pic, and they are going to be checking with the chef! My fingers are crossed!
  18. Hi Margret! Ok, I won't start freaking out when she doesn't get back to us in the next couple days.....this is going to be our 3rd TA since we started this whole process! And no dress for me yet!! I keep anxiously checking my email hoping to see that it's been shipped but nothing yet I'll keep you posted as soon as I hear! Did you make any decisions about your dress
