  1. myglassslipper.com (they also have a store in nyc) the first pair are by far my favorite, I wouldnt dye the bow though, I would leave that white, but I def' hear you guys on they would go with a different dress better. As for #4 those are my favorite out of all the ones I found with "bling" on them, I just don't know if they're me, lol. My brother said they look like classy stripper shoes. So maybe the list just got smaller and im going to really have to decide btwn 1 and 4.
  2. So I think (for now) I have narrowed the list down to four. Keep in mind I plan on having them dyed in turquiose. I am wearing the Reese by Maggie Sottero http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=reese&keywordType=any&page= 0&pageSize=15&style=A3240 the shoes in order of likeing the best. OPINIONS PLEASE!
  3. They are hot!! go for the splurge gf its your day!!! Im really interested in a pair of gucci's I saw but I really wanted turquiose shoes, so will see what I go with. I have 2 pairs of Christians, and they are so comfy!
  4. I know it seems most girls on here are getting married or have gotten married at the royal in PDC, I knew there had to be a few cancun girls on here though. Were getting married June 19th there, and going for our tasting Nov 27th, ill let you know how that goes.

Im getting married at the Royal in Cancun, just because he proposed there, otherwise we wouldve went with the one in PDC
  6. I just realized..... once you sent in your deposit, what kind of "receipt/contract" did you receive? I remember emailing Kim and asking for a confirmation, and all I got in response was that her emails were my confirmation.?
  7. I got a dress!! (its the one I wanted) I got the Reese by Maggie Sottero. I saw a picture of it about a month ago on "theknot.com" Immediately fell in love! It just screamed "jessica" so my style. My game plan for Saturday was not to let anyone know I was interested at all in this dress and just hear the real opinions, apparently that worked. With me I had my MOH, sister in law (brothers wife) my father and future MIL. I tried the reese on first(they loved it), and then tried on another 10 or 11 btwn two stores. At the second store I tried the reese on again last at the request of Steves mom, she didnt want me to take it off. So, I bought it!! & I wont see it again until April, which sucks. My father was worried I settled, but in my heart I know that dress is for me. I also picked out the Bridesmaid dresses (2 ordered, waiting on 3). We only took pictures of the dresses while they were hanging, because both stores had a no picture policy. But im attaching the link. http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=reese&keywordType=any&page= 0&pageSize=15&style=A3240 http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=reese&keywordType=any&page= 0&pageSize=15&style=A3240 Bridesmaids dresses, ordered in Turquiose with a coco sash. material, chiffon http://barijay.com/style.php?style=760
  8. I would def' do gold, or let them pick whatever. My girls just ordered their dresses the colors are turquise with coco, and theyre all trying to figure out gold or silver accesories, I dont care about that stuff matching so I told them go with whatever they want.
  9. I just bought the Reese yesterday! So in love! I wont get to see it again till it comes in, in April. Im going with turquise shoes. My Bridesmaids are wearing turquise and coco dresses. Love the dress.
  10. The hunt for my dress is on... going today to 3 different stores, for BM's dress and my gown ofcourse. So excited, but hungover, which should make for a very interesting day. Wish me luck.
  11. okay the name of the restuarant with the terrace is Albatros, I believe. For the tasting were going with the beef fillet tournade, the salmon fillet, and the linguini from the vegetarian menu, because they do not have a plain chicken, all the chickens are stuffed with some type of seafood. Salads, I think we choose the caribbean salad with shrimp, the avocado stuffed with crab, and another salad just dont remember which one. Yes I thought you'd get to have the 3 entree options but you dont, unless you want to send out entree cards with your invites and keep track of what people order, then the resort will let you do that, thats what were doing. Im jewish and not at all but a few, only eat kosher so I couldnt just say okay steak it is, lol.
  12. Yes, I posted about dogeared. Im obsessed with that site. I ordered the little gold dipped heart wish necklace that said BRIDESMAID on the card, and thats how I asked all my girls.
  13. Not at all!!! I am excited as well to have found you!! I feel like it was meant to be! lol, theres like 20 girls on here that are getting married in PDC, they all said due to personal preference, but thats how I feel about the one in Cancun, + COCO bongos is there, and I want everyone to go there after the wedding, its so much fun! I didnt know about the terrace either, until Kimberly mentioned it ( I send my email like 4x in a row and that usually gets a faster response I dont have the exact name of the location on me, but when I get home ill go through her emails and find it, its actually a really pretty set up. Steve and I really had our hearts set on the beach reception too, the only problem we came across is that my father is handicapped and walks on crutches, theres no set path down to the beach is like man made steps that dont really go in a straight line and no railings, and while my dad assured me he'd be fine walking on the beach w/ crutches I just dont want to put him through that. Also good to know they have wheelchairs, so I already sent out an email stating the days that I will need it for my dad. Also I heard a little rumor from TA that a section of the beach has been closed of by the gov't for some irregulations, and I asked Kimberly she said yes, its a very tiny portion but it will be taken care of, if you go on trip advisor and look at the pictures from the Royal, by the members, theres a few shots of it, it shows sandbags with a sign. Do you know what youre doing as far as centerpieces? I HATE HATE HATE flowers, never liked them, and I really dont want to go with flowers, I just cant find anything else that im liking. We were thinking depending on how many tables we wind up having, we may just put a bottle of crystal in the center and call it a day. The welcome cruise seems amazing we looked into that too, but I feel like I cant garuntee that my whole bridal party will be there the same day and time, some people are flying in early friday, some late friday, some thurs..... so we scratched that. There is something with day passes, but I believe if theyre at the gran caribe they dont need it.
  14. So glad to hear! My bridal party consists of 11 people with bride and groom, were sending out a little over 100 invites, only expecting about 45, majority being friends. We stayed there last May and fell in love, we've traveled for 6 years together and that by far was the best resort weve ever stayed at. He also proposed at the Royal. Were flying in Nov 27th, doing our food tasting that day, and going over everything one more time with the new WC. I believe once you make your site visit you get a WC thats actually at the hotel site. Are you dealing with Kimberly? Were doing the luxury package. As far as the hotels go, theyre next door to eachother, were actually having the ceremony at the Royal and then the reception on the terrace part of the Gran Caribe. Both hotels are gorgeous and have wonderful accomadations, If they stay at the Royal they have full access to all restaurants at the sister property, if you stay at the caribe you are limited to which restauarants and ammenities you can use at the Royal. Were staying at the Royal when we go again in Nov, and for the wedding were staying there too, its just that wonderful of a hotel. I checked prices for a single gf of mine yesterday flying out on a friday-returning monday with straight flights for june, the royal was $1086, and the Caribe was $786, it comes down to a $300 difference. If youre expecting a large group I wouldnt worry about having your guests split up, most people are going to stay where they choose to anyway, but as long as theyre staying at the sister resort I dont see it being a problem having your BM's (if staying at sister resort) come up to your room the night before to hang or whatever. And What im doing for the welcome dinner, im just going to reserve a section at a restaurant at the Caribe, this way there wont be any issues to where we are limited to eat. I have a bit of information so if you have any questions. Also are you going with the photographer from the hotel? If you were thinking about a different one I just booked with Moments That Matter, and their prices are great and I really like the work Ive seen.

  17. Thanks girls, yea im going to see about going through the hotel
  18. I just booked MTM for our wedding on June 19th 2010! We are meeting with Lincoln and Lori in Nov when we go down for our site visit, and we are super excited to meet with them! They let me book at the 2009 rate since I have been in contact with them for awhile, and they are extremely responsive through emails! Theyre prices are more then reasonable!
  19. Does anyone know of any bakeries for a wedding cake in PDC? Were getting at married at the Royal Cancun, and their cake seems pretty standard, so I wanted to see about having a cake brought in, any feed back would be great! Thanks in advance
  20. Hi, congrats!! Were getting married at the Royal in Cancun June 19th. ceremony at the royal and reception on the terrace on the Gran Caribe side.
  21. Hi Girls, Were getting married in June and we will be booking our flights/accomadations Dec 1st. We just booked our trip for our site visit in Nov, so as soon as we get back were booking.
  22. So excited!! just sent through my deposit to "Moments That Matter" and now officially have a photographer for our wedding!
  23. No ones bridal party is ever really the same amount of people, I have 5 girls in total with my MOH and my fiance has his BM and 3 GM, not that much of a difference, but my brother just got married in May and bridal party consisted of 12 Bm's a MOH his BM and 4 GM, most of the guys had 2 girls to walk with a few walked alone and some girls walked in 2, I walked with my father and brother. Dont worry about it, itll work out!
  24. Someone asked how much MAC charges for makeup, its $50 you purchase whatever make up you want for $50 and they do your makeup, its not a bad deal at all, just watch the artist's. MAC likes to go really heavy on makeup. Onto the food, I spoke with Kimberly again and I asked how much they would charge to add on extra entrees but she didnt respond to that, however what she did say was "everyone has the same entree, unless I would like to offer the choices in my invites and keep track of which guest is having which entree and make place cards with the entree choice on the card for each guest" So it looks like thats what im going to have to do, especially the fact that I am Jewish and not the majority but theyre are a select few from my family that do only eat kosher, therefor putting a steak infront of thier face, would not go over so well. Also just to inform some of you ladies that are worried about getting your hair and makeup done through the hotel, during our stay last year I had my hair "blown out" 3 times and makeup done once, and it looked great! theyre prices I dont remember off hand but it was reasonable.
