Wow, theres alot of confusion, I havent been on in days, last time I was I posted looking for dj ivans info, and then I emailed him and was told id have to book through the resort for his services, no problem. I emailed Paty and she just sent back a price, so I emailed Kimberly(who I have to say has been great with everything, answering questions, getting back to me promptly) and she told me the "situation" she didnt say anything bad, other then people that were booking through resort and through him personally were being charged 2 different prices, but I think thats typically how it works, ofcourse youre going to get a better rate booking w/ ivan, the hotel/venue always charges more, whether on an island or back in the states. So technically the hotel is at fault but everyone needs to make their cut. As far as pricing always changing if youre already locked in and have your contract I see no need to worry, thats what contracts and lawyers are for Either which way I now am booked for dj ivans services on our day. I was told I wouldnt have to pay a vendor fee for him because he is "preffered" and I already have my outside photog' booked and she said everythings fine with that, they were only changing the issue with the dj. It sucks to stress over your wedding and sucks even more when were thousands of miles away.

Site Inspection. We met with a Denise Compas, who was sweet as anything, only I would say her knowledge about the weddings is only about 45%, she was carrying around a binder with her that I assumed had prices and pictures and this and that... But every time we asked how much something extra would be or the prices of bows, she needed to double check with Kimberly. She seemed very uncertain with almost every answer she gave us. Either which way she took us to see the grounds (which are always well kept and beautiful) and sat with us during our food tasting. Food tasting. our choices. Beef tournado fillet, pasta w/ dried tomatoe sauce(vegitarian menu) and the salmon. The salmon was delicious, presentation A+ my fiance who only eats shellfish tried the salmon and finished it on me! His first time every trying it The beef fillet, was good, steaks all taste the same to me and the pasta. The pasta was unreal! I couldnt believe it. They ask you if you want anything changed in the presentation, which we thought was nice. We picked all 3, because I felt I couldnt just offer one option to such a large group of picky people, I was told in order to do this I would simply have to keep track. No problem, the food choices were already sent out with the invites and when I have the final's and seating chart, I just have to print up a menu for each table w/ their selections. Dont let them tell you, you only have one option for the entree, you can pick 3 or 2 if you were willing to keep track on your own. The gazebo on the Royal side, dont be afraid at first look it looks rather small, and thats because they cant set up any chairs behind the gazebo, due to the beds and lounged being placed right behind. But it can hold up to 50 people inside the gazebo, and during a light rain you can still get married out there because it doesnt drip through. So we looked at the gazebo on the Gran side and that I think holds up to 70 people inside, and they can put rows of chairs infront of stairs to gazebo as well. You can also have the cocktail hour right there, so we went with the gazebo on the gran side. My dad is handicapped and I felt the location would just be easier for him, which makes me happy. From cocktail hour you walk back up 3 or 4 steps and to the right and theres a big white staircase that takes you to the terrace of the albetros restuarant, which is really pretty and you have both a view of the ocean and the lagoon. Only downfall, is the floor is covered in green felt. But we were up there around the same time our reception would be going and onces its pretty dark you really cant even notice it, it kind of shimmers. The staircase leading up to the terrace is decorated with white candles on both sides, which I think will be beautiful. We intitally were just going to use our ipod to A. cut costs and B. we really only listen to house music and since itll mostly be a young crowd.. but then we found out that there wouldnt be anyone watching over the ipod, and I didnt like that, so we are now booked with dj ivan gomez. There is a Mac at the mall, its about a 10 minute walk and 4 minute cab drive, they charge $80 for makeup application, but youre actually purchasing makeup for that amount and then they do your application, here in NY its only $50 so I am a little put off, but Im considering it as the gifts for my BM's, they get new makeup and wont have to pay to get it done. Spa Azul at the resort charges $60 just for makeup application, so. We never looked at the ballroom cause we dont care to see it, our hearts are set on being married outdoors. Any questions or anything else you want to know just ask, thats all I can really think of now.

Back from our site inspection @ the royal cancun, (we also visited the 1 in PDC) we were going to just use our ipod, but weve changed our minds and I would like to look into dj ivan gomez? Recommended to me by our photographers (lincoln and lori), can someone please pass along his info, I know ive seen a few girls on this thread mention him, thank you girls.

its truthfully up to you, from what I did and what ive seen. I sent out my STD in Sept 08, a few months after we got engaged, only they were more of an announcement then a STD. Unless you are absolutely positive on the date and resort I wouldnt include any information w/ the STD, plans change you know? As far as invitations for a DW, they SHOULD be sent out atleast 6 months prior. On my rsvp card, I asked for them to fill out which resort they will be staying at and what day they would be arriving, along with a hotel insert. This way I wont have to hound my guest 45 days prior to the wedding for further information. Good luck.

Hi future Royal Cancun Brides, I leave next Friday for our food tasting and "site inspection" If anyone has any questions they want me to ask, just shoot them over. As far as hair at spa azul, When I stayed @ the Royal last year I had my hair blown out 3x, it came out amazing, so I am not worried about that. Makeup im going to get done while im down there next week as a "trial" but ive read other reviews from girls who have had their makeup down at spa azul PDC and have rave reviews. As far as information being sent over, just ask you WC that youve been dealing with and she will send it. Ask her for the "extras price list" this included prices for bouqets, centerpieces, the spa, and so on....

Hi Girls, I never bought the wii fit seeing how I barely use my gym membership, however I do the boxing (comes with wii package) everyday 20 minutes, and I SWEAR you would not believe the results! I sweat more bouncing around in my living room for 20 minutes then when I go to the gym and run for an hour, go figure! Try the boxing, youll love it!

Jescam, have fun!! Were headed to cancun the day after thanksgiving for ours. I have Kimberly as well and she has gone above and beyond, I dont have one negative thing to say about her. I know someone asked on here a few days ago about open bar for the luxury package, it is included for your 3 hours. I know it may seem silly to still want to ask questions even though we're already booked and locked in, but I feel like there are just something I should just make SURE of, but dont even know what.

I actually just asked my WC about the cocktail hour the other day, according to her youre allowed up to your 35 people, anyone over that you have to pay additional for, and anyone who is not staying at a real resort you have to pay for as well.

What to do? What to do?? I was thinking the next time I get to see my dress is in April, what If I order both #1 and #4 to try on with the dress and then decide. However I know I wont want to return the other pair. Originally the Paris Hilton ones (2) were my favorite so cute and classic with the bow, but then I found the top pair the with the crystal on the bow and I figured they're basically the same as the 2nd pair but a little more fun. Anyone know of a site to order stamps from? I was thinking like yankees stamps, maybe? I checked usps.com and they didnt have much, not even close to what i expected.
