Your mom and sis did a great job!!! You are so inspiring, really. And my Mr. right is coming to my shower too, even though its been tagged a "girls night out -showertini" -

Appropriate Wedding Attire?
KelZavs20 replied to Byroncurt's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I agree too....you might want to stear clear of the white if its an all white dress. Question though - whats the deal with black? i have never heard that you aren't suposed to wear black to a wedding and 9 times out of 10 i do!!! Guess i should be more careful!! -
Cups are here! They look fab!
KelZavs20 replied to LadyTrunck's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
those are great!! im gonna look him up myself!! thank you for sharing! i was on the hunt for budget friendly hurricane glasses, but im giving up now! -
new years eve is a big night!!! i would say a dj unless you have ALOT of guests!!! a band will probably be extra expensive that night in cancun, and if you are going outside of your resorts vendors, you should probably book really soon! ive heard that new years weddings are extra special and extra fun, so im sure it will be fabulous no matter what you decide!!

KelZavs20 replied to Mardigras's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
First, CONGRATS!!! Second, thanks for posing your review, sounds like everything turned out great and i cant wait to see your pictures!!! BUT - can you elaborate a little more on the hair and make up....i dont wear much make up at all and i am pretty much terrrified of having it done there for fear of not looking like myself when i come out! -

Congrats Lisa on the wedding, good luck! did you let cecilia know what sort of room you booked and ask her for an upgrade or did she offer it? we also booked a standard non ocean room on a special....but ive only given her my arrival dates so far....curious to see if i can weasle my way into at least an ocean view as well!

LOL Its crunch time and I am supper anxious and nervous... HELP its crap!!! be assured!!! trip advisor is a GREAT site, but it also attracts some idiots that are never satisfied!!! ive visited dreams and thought it was fantastic, thus booked my wedding there as well!!! you will have the time of your life !!! resort is clean, staff is friendly, beach is gorgeous, food is great, i can never understand how some people on that site can complain sooo much!! keep reading on there and im sure you will find great reviews too!!!

Welcome and Congrats!!! you will find just about everything you need here in terms of wedding stuff! Im getting married at Dreams Cancun. But used to live/work in cancun for a couple years....some great hotels (in terms of price/ammenities) are any of course dreams, any of the palace resorts, the riu resorts, and all the fiesta americanas too....however, each place has its own wedding policies and packages so do your research in the wedding review thread! Good Luck!!!!

Think about that long and hard....to me, it seems odd. 11am ceremony will be done before noon, at which point your guests would be ready for lunch - but you mentioned you dont have anything going on until dinner....PLUS, the bride will be all done up for the ceremony - and then go to the beach/pool? then get ready again for the reception? its confusing to me....3 is the high sun time, so if the issue is that she just wants to pop out of bed and get married rather than have the anticipation of all day (i know for myself that waiting till 6pm is going to feel like 4,984 days that morning) then schedule her some events to keep her occupied before a later ceremony! Good luck!!!

SUPER cheap options for OOT bags!
KelZavs20 replied to KJT1985's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
That seems like a great site...im looking at the drawstring bags and the hurricane cups (currently out of stock)....has anyone actually ordered and received products from that ziggos site before? -
My OOT Boxes!!
KelZavs20 replied to MoKe0506's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
love how you decorated the box to jazz it up!!! very cute!!! i may consider the same option since the boxes probably flatten and take up less suitcase room! -
hmmm...well, i cant help you in terms of knowing who will do a set menu (which is probably why you are getting such high prices) but there are some great restaruants in the hotel zone.....if you havent already contacted these places, id recommend: la distileria (mexican food), lorenzillo's (lobster / sea food on the lagoon) and also puerto madero which is a steak house. Check out Hotels and Vacation Reviews - TripAdvisor for some reviews, there is alot there. Also, there is a fantastic restaurant called Perrico's that is not in the hotel zone - but totally worth the cab ride to get there!!!

its always a 50/50 chance! i wouldnt worry about it too much...that was the original time i chose myself, but had to change due to so many of my family "kids" going back to universities that week..... my family always takes our vacations the last week of august and never had weather issues in the cancun area....not sure if that helps ease your worries at all!

Great review!!! Thank you for posting it. Looks like everything went well for you! Congrats!!

Cancun Key Card Holder!
KelZavs20 replied to slapsappyhappy's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
looks great! kudos to you for having so much done already, i noticed we have the same date and i am nowhere near ready to start these projects yet! -
I'd be curious to know how your decision turns out...and how the WC has been with communication so far!! I actually considered this resort first because it is owned by the owner of a hotel that i used to work at down in cancun, and becuase we have a few friends working there now - BUT i had to go against that plan when i started talking with the WC. She was very slow at responding to me, AND when she would respond, the answers were not complete...AND she was unable to give me a price on what we wanted to do since it was not in their usual package (we wanted to use the entire adult pool area for the reception). BUT when i was there in September (stayed at the GP when i went for my site visit at Dreams) i did let them know why i changed my plans...so hopefully they have it figured out now!!! On the upside - the resort is great place for vacation!

our AHR is pretty formal...and a bit beachy - kind of trying to bring the beach to those that couldnt make it to our cancun wedding. Sooo, we went back and forth about different favors as well and finally came up with "beach in a bag"...we are taking organza bags, putting some unrefind sugar in them (for the sand), three mini chocolate seashells, and two chocolate dipped sand dollar cookies with a little thank you tag. the great part is that we have a great friend who is a great baker and is home making all the chocolate and cookies so it will save us alot of cash!! we found it practical, and hopefully a great snack after a night of drinking!

Welcome! and you've come to the right place!!! there is TONS about Dreams on here!! Congrats!!

Thanks girls!!! Problem solved...were gonna mix the touristy (FUN) with the non touristy....getting personalized shot glasses, with mini tequilas and sticking them in a little bag, then he'll do his speech with everyone taking the shot after (using the traditional mexican way "ariba, abajo, al centro, al dentro" plus the local bakery idea is GREAT! Thanks again!
