I'm also trying to find some pix of BK..her wigs always look good. I am waiting to see how your wedding goes. I've got fairly fine/thin strands of hair, but have a lot of kink and frizz! I've been considering doing something like a weave or some type of wig, but I've never had either before. I'm with most of the brides here, wanting to be able to swim and not worry about a hot mess afterwards! I want to enjoy my vacation lol...
  2. Congrats!! Did you end up using an image on the back as well? Is that what you were trying to fix up? I have been back and forth and back and forth about how I want to create our Invitations. I bought a cricut machine in the fall because I had a "brilliant" idea that I wanted additional dimension to our invites by making some kind of cut out along the sides. Didn't really consider that the quality would just not be the same as a laser-cut paper. Live and learn I suppose lol... but the Cricut has allowed me to create some fabulous birthday and holiday cards, as well as decals for christmas ornaments for very personalized gifts. Will you be posting pics of your invites or have you done that already?
  3. Hey there, I just made something real quick for you to try. It's a .doc attachment at the bottom of this message. First, I would print this off on a normal sheet of paper to see which direction you would have to feed your envelopes assuming it's a back feeding printer. You would put the envelope in sideways, with the flap shut so it is a regular rectangular shape (maybe a small piece of blue painters tape to secure it shut towards the bottom so it doesn't get caught). The blue tape works like masking tape but gentler, so it shouldn't tear your paper at all, but if the envelopes don't get caught when being fed through, then awesome! HTML Code: _______ | | | | | | | / | | / | |_/_____| Here is some crazy ascii to try and show what the envelope looks like when going into my printer lol. It should print precisely in the middle, you may want to play around with the fonts and the spacing, but it seemed to work for me. Good luck! A7Setup.doc
  4. That was wonderful!!!! Great work, I've been doing research on making my own photo book. I hope I can make mine the way yours turned out! Thanks for sharing =)
  5. I am in the same boat looking to see if prices I've been quoted are reasonable. I have been in contact with whom I believe is the same vendor AnnaBanana mentioned. The sent me a la carte pricing for for add ons that you can use the $150 for, but I don't know if the prints you purchase can be made into a book afterwards. The cheapest print is $21 for one picture... cost could add up very quickly. For the price you pay, you'd get almost 8 pics. Has anyone successfully taken pictures of themselves? lol
  6. my suggestion would be to trim some length off from the top of the template, so that your punch can reach down far enough to cut through. I'm assuming you have a punch where you can flip it over and see exactly where your circles would line up. if you can mark where the end of your punch reaches vs the circle, and measure from the line you drew to the end of the predrawn circle, that should tell you how much you can shave off the top of the door hanger. I would use what I call "Chicken scissors" lol.. the ones that come with every set of steak knives. Those cut through everything! just make sure you mark a good, straight line.
  7. Those are adorable! Nice work and good suggestion about waiting for vistaprint to send you a sale email!

  9. Wow, what a fabulous idea! I am definitely going to look into doing something like this. I guess just stack it onto my huge pile of things to do lol. I can't believe I only have 11 months left and i feel like nothing is done!
  10. Great idea! I am looking for a brochure to use in my invitations. I am hoping it will save on paper use, plus it will be less for people to lose than a normal pocketfold invite. I may use this since all of our families are coming from every which way
  11. lol sand dollars are so creepy when they're still alive. we used to dig them up on the beaches... not very often, mind you, but you could look for an airhole in the sand and if you dug for long enough/deep enough you could find one

Otherwise, may I jump on the bandwagon and get this file sent to me by someone? Hallone.Wedding (at) gmail.com My suggestion for the corners if anyone else was thinking about it, would be to use a corner rounding punch from a craft store, in 1/4" size.. or if you were going to hand trim the corners, you could make a template by laying a piece of paper over-top the lid, trace around the edges, and then cut out the "perfect" cornered shape. You could then make a sturdier template by tracing your template onto something like a cereal box. At any rate, great work!!!
  13. Hmmm this a thought provoking thread. I'd like to see other people's ideas on this as well. I'm still trying to explain to our friend what it is I'm looking for when he shoots our wedding and I don't know how to explain it.
  14. I agree with everyone else-- your friend is very talented, I can see why you're excited!!
  15. Wonderful! lol I love your costumed picture. I would love to be one of the lucky people invited to your wedding, looks like you and your FH are a blast!
  16. I think it's funny that a) they haven't bothered to follow up to see why you haven't picked up your dress and they would insinuate it wouldn't be there for some reason. Have you already paid for it? I assumed that you have to pay for them before they ordered them to the store. I could rant for hours about bad customer service, so I'll spare you the details of what I would have said! lol I was sorta shocked at the estimated cost for alterations as well. I haven't purchased my dress but I'm in the same boat as you. Dress is about the same price as yours, and the cost of alterations would be nearly the same price as my dress lol. I figured it's because I was having changes made to the actual dress- the alterations weren't actually to change how the dress fit, oddly enough. I don't know if thats standard or not but I am seriously considering busting out my sewing machine and putting my own custom touches to my dress =P
  17. It doesn't say anywhere on the paperwork that $500 has to be purchased, it says registered for. Howeverrrrr it does say "One registry gift set per registrant or couple and one completeion gift set per registrant or couple" which makes me think that there may be another cheaper gift, and that the knife would be given after the purchase. The people at BBB told me it was a knife just for registering and it says "Receive your own Santoku cutlery gift by registering for $500 or more of qualifying Calphalon products"... key word register not purchasing. would be funny if they sent you something like a knife cover to register and the knife after purchases lmao..
  18. I'm sure a lot of you ladies knew this but by registering at Bed Bath and Beyond, they have worked out deals with some of their vendors to give you free gifts. That is, just register for a certain dollar amount of certain brands to receive gifts. For instance -- I registered for $500 or more of Calphalon products, and as a result, we will be getting a santoku cutlery gift a.k.a. knife for sending in a rebate form with a copy of the registry with the Calphalon products listed on it. There are always rules and restrictions, like this one is not valid on Kitchen Essentials or Cooking with Calphalon products. I figure even if I don't get the dream cookware I've always wanted, I'll get a free knife out of it lol. Cuisinart also has some kind of promo going on for a free recipe cd, and something also about a free cookbook and there is another brand doing another promo but I didn't really get info on either of those since I didn't qualify. Maybe if I asked really nicely they would tell me lol... Anyway, hope these promotions are in your area as well ladies, seems nice to get something for free with all the money we're putting into our weddings! They also do a referral program where if you refer people that set up registries you get a $25 off $50 purchase or something like that, so keep it in mind if you have friends that are also getting married and make sure they refer you or vice versa!
  19. Awww how long ago did you get your dress? I would love one like that but I'm between a 4 and 6 or I'd get yours from you.
  20. We're doing Burnt orange as well (I love orange!) and chocolate brown.. maybe some green or silver accents, not sure yet =)
  21. Very nice! Again you ladies are trying to foil my well thought out plans for how to do my invites lol...
