  1. Ok-I'm going to jump in here again with a challenge since I don't see one and I'm getting ready to walk out the door to the gym. How about..... 15 tricep pushups (so instead of elbows out tuck them under toward you knees-you'll feel the difference!) Can be one set or split into 5 sets of 3 if you have to. DO THEM ALL ON YOUR TOES. Even if you have to do one and stop for a while. Come on-it's only 15-we can do it! AND 30 minutes of Cardio AND the fruit or veggie challenge again (I like that one :-) I'm trying to think of things we can all do regardless of equipment so I hope that works :-) Happy workout all. Oh-and my inner thighs are freaking sore today. Yay for squats and lunges!
  2. Ugh. Ok so I did today's challenge at the gym...by the time I got done then added rest of my leg workout and ended with cardio on the stair machine I was inventing new ways to swear. I hope somebody else is as sore as I'm going to be tomorrow lol. Got the FI to agree to go with me tomorrow morning so who wants to post a daily challenge....I'll make him suffer through it
  3. Oooh, they look great! Congratulations on being a Mrs.... I especially love the one of you by the old car. Can't wait to see more.
  4. Well, we had to come back early from our backpacking trip and I was so disappointed I spent two days shoving whatever I wanted to in my mouth. I was supposed to be hiking 6 - 8 hours a day..... So I guess tomorrow I better get myself back in gear. For a challenge tomorrow how about hitting those nasty lower body bulges and toning arms: 3 sets of 20 lunges-10 each leg with alternating bicep curls. AND 3 sets of 20 squats.(Want more of a challenge-add an overhead shoulder press as you come up from the squat). If you don't go to the gym or have weights at home grab a couple of cans of soup or whatever and do these in your living room. Trust me-even with a can of tuna you will feel 20 overhead shoulder presses lol. If anyone catches you just deny it.
  5. We're not having a religious ceremony either but I kind of like the idea of a situation where we can address things that often come up in relationships. My FI was really open about it so we're going to just get a referral from our insurance for a local marriage counselor that does pre-marital counseling. We probably won't see a religious therapist either. Good luck making your decision and just keep communicating with him about how you feel. It's obviously something that's important enough for you to bring up.
  6. Don't feel rushed to find one-it's hard to imagine after your disappointing experience but there really is a "lightbulb" moment when you find the right dress. Good luck!

  8. It's really pretty! You might ask the jewelry designer that customized the ring for your FI to sit down with you and brainstorm about some ideas..... I bet they could help you visualize what a custom ring would look like or have other suggestions. Good luck-let us know what you end up with!
  9. Well I'm off to go backpacking the rest of the weekend. (I am soooo ready to get out!!) So far had 1 cup strawberries, a banana, 1 cup of fresh blueberries, 1 kiwi fruit, 3 cups of spinach and 1/4 cup chopped green peppers so I'm good to go with my challenge. Have an awesome weekend all!
  10. Welcome-sounds like you're on the ball so far. I'm sure you'll find lots of great ideas to add to your plans.

    Question

Congratulations! I also would suggest a TA, I knew what I wanted and kind of where but my TA helped me figure out the details and I have someone to call with questions.
  13. Well...I conveniently forgot to weigh in. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!! I hate it-the week before my cycle I am like a crazy lady shoving anything sweet or salty into my mouth. I'm not really hungry but I keep eating-all the while knowing I shouldn't be. Then I pay for it the next 3 weeks taking the pounds back off and repeat process. So challenge for tomorrow: Eat 5 servings of fruit or vegetables on Friday. Since many of us are gearing up for a long weekend with Memorial Day and that usually means BBQ's and other calorie packed food it might be a nice way to start the weekend. I think the recommended number of servings for fruit and veggies is something like 17? Correct me if that's wrong. So 5 doesn't seem that bad. Mine will be: Mango, banana, zucchini, asparagus and strawberries!
  14. Congratulations on your engagement and welcome! Picking the location was the hardest part so you're doing great so far. You'll find a lot of great ideas here.
  15. We share household expenses in joint accounts where our paychecks are deposited but the investments, mortgage, cars and line of credit are all in my name-he and his ex still have a home in a distressed market so until that's resolved we will keep our credit separate and all the assets in my name. She's living there now and is paying the mortgage but just in case she flakes out we don't want to lose any of what we've worked so hard to save in a foreclosure proceeding. Ugh, makes me sick just thinking about it.

    Newbie here!

Welcome and congrats Dyan! I vote Jamaica....
  17. Welcome, enjoy the planning and congratulations on your engagement!

    Ola!

Welcome! Congratulations on your engagement and have fun planning your big day.
  19. Don't know what I was thinking today. After a lazy weekend I skipped the lunch I brought to work in favor of a subway sandwich and 2 cookies. Hello 850 calories! And less than 24 hours before the weigh in. *sigh*
  20. Sounds normal to me. I'm second guessing my choice of resorts, dates, who I'm inviting, my BD shots.....I think I'm ok with the dress. Take a deep breath. Remember-this whole thing is about you and your soulmate, all the other details won't matter, you probably won't even remember them in 5 years.
  21. Just hang in there a little longer! You can still have a fun weekend thinking about the house and your projects. The FI and I go wander around Lowe's sometimes and just make wish lists-it's kind of cheesy but it's really a fun (and cheap) date!
  22. Awww-I love that the moment was so important to him he got emotional too. That's sweet. Congratulations on the upcoming wedding!
  23. I had the following email from the FMIL in response to mine: That is ok!!! We would just love to have you home for Christmas!!! You will have fun! And you will get to meet all the crazies!! HA! I may have to come earlier this summer than I wanted - I wanted to come over my b-day - but we have stuff at church going on that weekend soooo I was wondering if I could come over the 4th of July or the weekend of the 11th? Thinking about coming on a Thursday and going home on Tuesday or Wed. You all talk about it and let me know what works for you. Love you all!! Mom #2 This is actually the most laid back she's ever been with me-maybe it's a good thing all this happened-kind of like a backwards icebreaker. Obviously not my best moment but I think it might actually make things better. FI and I are now talking about how what he says impacts what I think and the opinions I form about his family. And it looks like I'll have a chance to start my own relationship with her in July-not the one I have through FI. My very own "after school special" lesson. Thanks for all the honest feedback-maybe next time I'll think twice before I put my foot in my mouth.
  24. Just saw this-that is probably the most creative thing I've heard of. You have a fun filled life ahead of you!
