  1. The dress is gorgeous, but I think that the embellishments in the front cut you off because it runs so low down the dress.
  2. So I had to meet my best friend at her job, which is on 28th and Park in the city. Since I had time to spaare I walked the wholesale area, which is located on 28th and Broadway. OMG they have everything and for so cheap. I mean I found Pashmina shawls for $30 a dozen silk flower petals $1.50 a box. I'm from NYC so I knew of this area but haven't been here in ages. I also have been scouring the internet for prices and deals on stuff I need for the wedding. My only problem has been that I'm a touchy feely consumer, meaning I like to examine the quality of what I'm getting before I purchase so this works for me. I wanted to pass this info along because there are a ton of shops so you have to make a day of it sort of. They are open on Saturdays. Also in the same area is the wholesale flower district, which also sells gorgeous silk flowers. Since I stumbled upon some of these stores I was looking more then buying, but here are some things I saw. Parasols Raffia Fans Those little gauze goody bags in tons of colors Pashmina Shawls in tons of colors- these you have to hit up a few stores for quality and price because they vary, but still real nice for giveaways Flip flops and disposable cameras. I know I will go back with my mom on a Saturday when I have a lil more time to shop around.
  3. You have so many cute ideas. I already see a few that I will borrow
  4. Everything looks great. Do you have pics of the cake?
  5. Your father has taken too much attention away from you already. It is your day not his continue yours plans as scheduled. If he shows up let him know thats what RSVP means. I have the same issue with my father and I was going back and forth on whether to invite him or not. I chose not to, he has never been an active part in my life so on my wedding day I don't need the drama!
  6. I also got these bags, mine are yellow they are awesome and they are so roomy. They averaged with shipping to around $1.53 each. I love them
  7. I got my bags from him too. Mine are yellow and they are big and beach appropriate.
  8. Everything looks great. I love the table number idea. Adorable
  9. I am Dominican and my FI is African American. Our Ceremony will be in english but our reception will be both. Our first dance will be a salsa and my Father/Daughter dance a bachata. My family is VERY latin, so my battle is not letting them take over I'm trying to incorporate both cultures equally so in honor of his heritage we will jump the broom!!
  10. In my opinion. destination or not, it's your wedding. Why should we brides that are choosing to get married in beach locations have to feel like we have to have a "beach" gown? I for one believe its your wedding day regardless of location, you should wear the dress that makes you feel like a Queen. I think it is a beautiful gown.
  11. I love this show. Dina and Carolyn are my favorites. I think Danielle is a little too clingy for comfort. She's nuts!!! Can't wait till next weeks episode!!
  12. I've done both, and I will have to say go with the fake eyelashes. I have worn extensions in hot Las Vegas and Puerto Rico, it takes some time getting used to especially in the pool and water events. For my wedding I'm getting fake eyelashes.
  13. Ok so I've searched high and low for a short dress to wear at my reception. Problem I'm having is that I have expensive taste on a budget My ceremony dress will be from Pronovias so it will already cost me a pretty penny, I don't want to spend that much on my second dress. Any ideas?
  14. Hi Stacey, I think many of us know that feeling Anyway I'm getting married next July and I was going through issues with my WC similar to yours. I went on a site visit in April and met my WC face to face and this is what I learned. 1. Weddings are a business to them. On one day I saw 4 weddings back to back. This is the height of their busy time so usually Mondays are best for them to answer back. 2. Unlike most of us that can't function without checking our emails every 2 minutes, they barely sit at their desks and they don't have PDA's 3. I have noticed and it was confirmed by my WC that they don't really focus too much on us 2010ers because to them the dates are far off and we brides bombard them with numerous emails. I will say that after my site visit and meeting her face to face she is a doll and gets back to me a lot faster then before and I also now understand her hectic schedule. At the beginning they will only do the necessary paperwork and as your date gets closer you will most likely see more of a response. I have found this site to answer pretty accurately most of the same questions I asked my WC on my site visit. Good Luck
  15. My FI and I have a total of 12 in our wedding party. We decided to pay for a zip lining excursion for everyone. We went on a site visit and really enjoyed it and would like to share it with them.
