We purchased large scallop shells (like you use for baking) and are putting the guests names on the inside of them - we think it will look very elegant and are going to stand them up in shallow sandboxs at the sign in table. I like the mini marachi idea too!
We are renting Villa Sol y Luna also for my daughters wedding in Jan 2010 - check out their website, we felt the price was reasonable and the location perfect.
These are so cute - my daughter just decided to go with large scallop shells as place cards but once she sees these she might change her mind....are you going to set these in a tray of sand? I think they are adorable.
Thanks so much for all these idea's we will start making some contacts! The villa is Villa Sol y Luna (check out their website, they have some beautiful wedding pictures). The villa is located in playa del secreto.
My daughter wants silk flowers and I have to admit they look so real and they were much cheaper. We are going to use real flowers for the centerpieces so this way we are getting the best of both worlds.
We are having my daughters wedding at a private villa and am hoping for some recommendations for a great mariachi band? We were thinking about having them play during the cocktail hour - what are your thoughts?
I also understand if is a challenge picking up the sound on your own videocamera due to the wind and the ocean - a professional would make sure that you can hear/see the ceremony.
We are finding that booking the photographer for my daughters wedding is the hardest part - the choices are endless (or so it seems) and this is such an important event. Good luck in your search.
Everything is so gorgeous! I loved your dress. Do you have a name for the mariachi band? I thought your sand ceremony was beautiful and I love how you included your family.
