  1. Congrats and Welcome! You will find tons of info here to help with your planning. Good Luck
  2. Depending on the number of guests I wanted to do a welcome reception and possibly a farewell breakfast. Then I'll provide a list of excursions for the guests to do on their own. I agree on not planning too much... you want your guests to be able to do what they want to do.
  3. Tell them they are all special and you didn't want to choose between them. Also that you wanted a small bridal party... they can still be involved with the wedding.
  4. Karla... I'm also a Hs guidance counselor and former teacher. I really enjoy the time off, it does get boring at times though. I was able to work part time in July to make a few bucks for the wedding. I've been doing lot's of relaxing and working on wedding related stuff... dress shopping, sending out STD's , researching. I'll be back to work Sept. 8.
  5. Don't feel pressured into getting a dress right away Bring a strapless bra and heels It's okay to go alone or bring 1-2 people. Don't get discouraged. My first shopping excursion was a nightmare. I showed the sales person dresses that I wanted to try on but they were not flattering on me. I took pictures and when I got home I could see how awful they looked. The sales person actually liked some of them... she wasn't helpful in helping to find one that fit my shape. After this I went back to square one and have been to two other places. Now I have an idea of what looks good and doesnt look good on me.
  6. I hope it all works out with the dresses. I haven't started looking for Bm dresses- I need to get my own first...lol. Great news that your godmother will be paying for the dresses. People always come thru when you least expect it.

  12. Congrats and Welcome!!! You will find lots of info here.
  13. I know about the "growing" guest list... lol. Getting all those addresses was a hassle and assembling the STDs with labels... Maybe you can send out postcards to save the date- no stuffing involved. Just add a stamp and the person's address( save your time by creating labels- the knot has a guestlist program that can be merged with excel and voila 250+ addresses ready to go). Our wedding site is on mywedding.com. I like it- it serves its purpose. Not all of my guests are computer savvy so we sent out STD magnets which included our website. I plan to update the site as I get more wedding info. I have no idea about STD emails- maybe www.evite.com has something?
  14. I think it should be a simple "Thank You" and leave space so you can write a personal message.
  15. Since you need the menu choices by 10/1 you should be sending out the invites soon with an RSVP date of mid Sept. so you can follow up with the non- responders.

  17. Beautiful dress... it fits you well. One less thing for you to worry about.
  18. Love the dress. It may be warm but your BM's should be okay especially if the reception will be in ac.
