Oh no! How crushing. I think people get overwhelmed when the realize what the travel may entail and they tend to jump to conclusions and freak out a bit. If she is your BEST friend.........I think you should sit down with her and explain everything you just explained to us. Tell her how important her friendship is and thats why you chose only her to stand next to you. Ask her if you can help her work around the layovers and do more research talk to more TA's, etc etc..... How can that be the ONLY option?? I totally understand what you must be feeling. The best advice I can give is just.......talk to her and try to work around it.

My honest opinion is that if he looks best in black - do black. You want him to look his absolute best and if thats what you both agree on, the so be it I also think it might dress it up a little bit....like a destination wedding version of a traditional suit.....those are my thoughts!

I think its a perfect approach. If they ever contact you about not getting a formal invite, etc, I would apologize and say that the STD was sent my mistake and you are trying to keep your #'s down....I'd just pretend like they were never invited in the 1st place! you deserve only people who love & respect you on your day!
