It's a beautiful dress and like everyone else has said...knowing what you want and having to settle for something less will be such a disappointment! If there's a way to work it into your budget then I say go for it.

Hi Jess! I give you major props for doing the weekend retreat! That was one of our options however we decided we would rather not do the full weekend trip. Neither of us were too crazy about the idea of sharing a room with a stranger. But we did do the one day retreat and found it to be a really good experience. I'm really glad that we did it. I feel that you can learn a lot about each other and your relationship from the whole process.

I actually ended up ordering a birdcage veil and got it in the mail yesterday. You can pretty much wear one with any hair style. I ordered it from Birdcage Veil - Birdcage Veils. If you go on their site you can check out the photo gallery and get an idea of how it would look with different hair styles!

The Eliot Danori cuff that Megashay posted is the one I have! It's really beautiful in person. I got it from Macy's a few months ago.

I agree with what everyone else has said. I think it's extremely considerate of you to be worried, however I don't see you going out of town the weekend before as being an issue. If I were in that situation I would let my friend know I was going to be out of town and make sure there isn't anything they were expecting from me for that particular weekend. I think at that point there is probably little that you could be doing to help her anyway, the planning phase should pretty much be done.

Aww...this is great! We have a former racing greyhound. His name is Dawson and he is a really great dog. Everyone who meets him loves how mellow he is! He's a big baby!

Well I heard back from my new wedding coordinator last week but to be honest I have a feeling most of my questions/planning will have to wait until I get there. It seems to take a week to get a response so there's not much I can do but hope it all works out!

We are having a Catholic ceremony at Dreams Punta Cana. We are getting married in the wedding gazebo at the resort (no beach weddings allowed for Catholic ceremonies). If you contact the WC they will send you info on having a Catholic ceremony. You have to do all of the normal Pre-Cana work and send it down to the diocese in the DR two months prior to your wedding. If you have any more questions let me know!

I'm not trying to discredit the fact that the wedding coordinators are busy. I have been very patient throughout the entire process. I first booked my date last summer and all year long I have waited patiently to hear back from the coordinators. They led me to believe that as my wedding day drew closer I would hear from them more frequently so we could move forward with the planning process. So that is where my frustration is coming from. I was told to wait and we would get everything worked out and now when it's finally time for me to talk to them they don't have the time. I'm sure it will all work and will be fine. I would just like to get a few details worked out ahead of time.
