  1. Hey Belize Bride!! 1st-- Belize is AMAzING! My dad and his wife married on Ambergris Caye two Novembers ago, and it was PHENOMENAL! The thing I would recommend most is taking advantage of Jaguar Ridge's tours. They do a Cave touring trip that is unforgettable, and unlike anything you can do in other countries. As for the weather, Central America has similar patters to Mexico, so you're going to experience the end of their "warm season" and the beginning of HOT and rainy. You also HAVE to go to the "Crazy Canuck" in San Pedro. Such a fun party spot for tourists and locals alike. Everyone is very, very friendly and the beer is sooooooo cheap! lol If you have any specific questions about weddings, customs, legalities, etc. Let me know and I can get you in touch with my stepmom-- who became a genuis with the specifics. Oh, and also... I think its illegal NOT to go scuba diving or snorkeling, as Belize as the second largest and most beautiful barrier reef next to Australia. I think that renting a catamaran for the day, or something like that would be a great idea! Congrats!!
  2. Hey all, one of the ladies posted a nearly identical pair for 1/6 of the price-- sUPER cute, but limited sizes at GO Jane.com Ordered the silver pair today, should be here in a week or so. I'll let everyone know how they look!

  4. Two truths and a lie is a great one! It goes just like it sounds. Each person tells everyone else two truths and one lie about themselves, it is then the job of the group to guess which one was the lie. Ends up getting pretty silly, but you learn a lot of conversation starters in a little bit of time-- also, I find everyone tries to one-up one another, so the truths and lies get pretty interesting.

  6. Claudette, I saw a really neat idea that another DB did-- she packed all of the goodies into three seperate plastic rubbermaid-style containers, marked them all with their names, address, and the word FRAGILE plastered to it. Then she, her FI and her MIL each took one as their second piece of luggage-- avoiding worries of extra cost or anything being lost in transit. It looked secure, and effective. A little hard to cart around once you get off the plane, but you could just use a baggage buggy to get them out to your bus/ car/ taxi.
  7. Thanks for the suggestions girls, I will definitely give them all a try. FI is pretty picky, so I'll send he and the GMs on a hunt-- Banana is a great idea, but no linen yet sadly. Cheers!
  8. WHAT!? Jcrew ships to Canada!?? OMG, I think you might have just made my day! lol Thanks
  9. Hey All! So I'm debating between ordering pants for FI and GMs internationally or trying to find them here... has anyone had any luck here in AB? The only place I've found any so far is Tux and Cameo in Dalhousie, and they are pretty pricey. Suggestions?
  10. What a beautiful story! Although it may not have gone how you'd imagined, it is definitely a romantic and phenomenal way to reinforce just how great your FI is, and how special your lives together really are. Thanks for the update!
  11. I'd love to see pics of the hair / makeup results from Dreams PV too. Lauren, yours turned out great! I'd love to see a few more reviews / pics. Maybe Jenn will have something for us when she gets back next week...
  12. Hey fellow award-ceremony lovers! I wanted to start a thread, in advance, to discuss the OSCARS!! My mom, sister, cousin and I have a yearly tradition... Big Screen, Chinese Food, Wine (lots!) and the OSCARS. We thrive on chatting about speeches, dresses, and the results. I thought my favorite BDW bloggers would love to be in on the actions! Happy Oscar weekend to everyone!!
  13. Amarillis!! OMG, amazing, amazing, amazing! I'm sure your guests were thrilled with all of the love and care you put into the details. Wonderful job!

  15. Keep in mind that if there are any problems with the outdoor set-up-- rain, tide problem, etc.-- they will move everything indoors for you. We are getting married in rainy June, so that was the backup plan that Rebecca gave us.
  16. Hey Marisol! I saw a pic of the indoor venue at Dreams, and to be honest- it's not great. Looks difficult to decorate beautifully, and has very tacky carpeting. Just ask Rebecca, she can send you pics of both options. As for the beach, I agree with the girls that it's your best option. However, make sure to take a look at all of the additional costs for the beach reception-- aka: Dance floor cost, sand leveling in the event of rain, etc. This is also something you can ask Rebeca for. Good luck deciding! I'm sooo excited that it's coming up so soon for you!!
  17. OMG, the strawberry chilis are sooo good. They are everywhere down there, I was addicted last summer. lol Thanks for the link to the candy! What a great idea

I'm planning on keeping all "meltable" items in a cooler pack in my checked luggage-- it will help keep the items in tact until you get into your air conditioned room at the resort.

Hey Binzer, I think I'm going to try and stroll and normally as possible, slower than usual, but as natural as possible. I've never been a fan or the right, left, together-- it's too regimented. We're all in a beautiful tropical locale, which I think screams flowy, casual and laid back. Regimented steps just don't seem to do any of our destinations any justice. lol
