  1. Welcome to the forum Joy! You have definitely come to the right place, this forum has been unbelievably helpful so far. We are getting married at the Dreams PV this June, so if you have any questions that I can help you with, please feel free to pm me. Congrats!

Very, very cute. I'm happy to see I'm not alone in the full-length patrol. I think the halter is very flattering and a little more formal as well. Great choice, and also a great website! Thanks
  4. Hey Dreams brides Is anyone just doing a sound system rental for their reception? FI and I have decided that we would rather bring our own music selection / ipod so as to ensure everything we'd like played is available. Has anyone else decided to go this route? Perhaps Post-Wed brides have some insight or suggestions. Will this be inconvenient? Thanks!
  5. Hey all! I ran across an interesting wholesale website today. The link is dollaritem.com and it looks like a way to order dollar store supplies directly from the wholesaler by the case-- great for lots of guest of DIY decor.
  6. Hey All, So my FI and I decided (well, I guess I decided, lol) That we wanted to stick with the very simple and elegant theme of black and white for the big day. I ordered a very simple and pretty casual black Maxi Dress the other day, to check it out and take a look at the fabric. I really feel like the black will contract beautifully with the tropical flowers, and that the dress will be cool enough... The only problem is that all of you BDW Brides have such amazing colors, I'm considering a change of mind. So I'm looking for insight... Here's a pic of the dress. http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/n...558_resize.jpg Thanks!
  7. Agreed! Both looks great, I think its a good idea to incorporate the tropical local onto your head! I definitely enjoy the white on white-- it seems that's what most of you did. You all look beautiful, thanks for the thread-- it was definitely a question many of us were asking.

Cheers Ash

  10. Wow Nathan! That bouquet is gorgeous, and actually, almost exactly what I want. Do you know what the larger orange flowers are called? They are such a nice pop against the purple. Thank you so so much! I'm definitely going to send this to my WC and see if this would be a possibility.
  11. Hey All, So the wedding planning is rolling ahead rapidly, and I have quickly realized that I know little to NOTHING about flowers. I know that I like the look of, but am not certain about any specific flowers. I know that I don't want any greenery in my bouquet, and I think I'd like primarily purple as the accent color... does anyone have any ideas or pics I could reference for ideas?? Thanks my fellow brides!!

So, I thought posting SOMETHING is better than NOTHING at all and I stumbled on this cake topper and thought it's one of the craziest, most original, funny, tender, imaginative toppers I've seen in oodles of ages.... Would love to hear what ya'll are doing for your cake toppers!!! (and I promise after Feb 15th new fun blogs!!)... Oh my God! Those are hilarious! I know a few brides back home that would LOVE sock monkeys as their cake topper. Too cute!

Hope that helps! Cheers!

They have $1 beers and margaritas, always ingredients for a good time. lol Apparently they have great food aswell, there is a review on tripadvisor.com, and it's nothing but raves!
  15. Hey all, just added my siggy and wanted to try it out. I think I'm a BDW addict. Ugh Oh. Maybe we need to start a NEW thread for this. lol

I just feel like the resort 'photographers' might not cut it especially since we only really get something like 50 photos, which seems miniscule!! However, again, budget friendly, seems hard to find. Any suggestions ladies? Hey Kate, I've been planning for our June wedding at Dreams PV, and working through their onsite WC-- Rebecca. She's FANTASTIC. Actually, there's an entire thread devoted to her. lol So I wouldn't worry about outsourcing. She's been great so far.
  17. I definitely agree, Rebeca has been a rockstar for me! Anyone hesitant about planning through the onsite coordinator at Dreams--No not. She has been GREAT at communicating and helping me out with any and all questions, concerns and creative ideas.
  18. Catamaran sounds awesome! Hubby to Be and I did some excursions with Puerto Vallarta Tours last June and their staff is AMAZING! They also offer a booze cruise, that takes you out to an island where you can snorkel, horseback ride or just hang out on the beach. I'm not certain on the cost, but I'm sure you would get a group rate if you booked for more than 10 ppl. That way everyone has the option to do what they want, and there's an open bar and lunch! Bonus!
  19. Hey Brit, I've been having a similar dilemma. It's tough to decide how a "Beach Bride" should prep her coif. I suggest googling "Beach Bride" hairstyles. Not only does it bring up some fun style options, but also very cute accessories too. If you're looking for great hair accessories for you or BMs scope out Hair Comes the Bride- Beach Bridal Accessories I'll keep scoping things out, and keep you posted. Cheers!

I wanted to do a signature drink but haven't been able to get organized enough to design something for the bar - check out Lauren's stuff - it is awesome for the menus and the signature drinks!!! I am totally excited (like almost jumping out of my skin excited!) we leave in 16 more sleeps and I can't wait to see how it all comes together!! Sarah - we'll just miss each other... we leave to come home on the 7th... Jenn Hey Jenn, I am curious, do you know if the concoctions involved for the signature drinks is extra, or just a touch they'll add to your reception if you request it? I hadn't even considered this idea until this forum, You brilliant brides ROCK!

We decided it was an additional +$100 expense we didn't need and just handed them out at the welcome party or as people arrived. However, I was a little disappointed because i thought it would be so fun for people to open doors and have their bags... I definitely agree that the extra $3 per room ends up being a useless expense. Rebeca (New WC) said it's basically a tip for the people delivering them. I asked if I could just get a room list from the front desk, so that we could deliver them personally -- a great way to say hello, and welcome -- and she said she could definitely arrange it. Agreed, though. It would be nice to have the surprise awaiting in the room. By the Way-- Fun Welcome Basket Idea: I bought a bulk pack of tiny shells from Michaels and a spool of purple thread (my accent color). My BMs and I are going to lace one shell onto a necklace / Bracelet length thread and turn each one into a "wish chain." The idea is that you make a wish on the shell, and then you knot the thread on, and when it breaks your wish comes true. It's cute and romantic, made a very cheap and easy addition to the wedding baskets.

We are looking at hosting a fun night at the Cheeky Monkey, which is just down the beach at the edge of the Malecon. Its supposed to be a great, fun and popular place-- Almost every travel review for the Dreams PV mentions it. If you're looking for something a little less "pubby" and a little more chic, I've head that Le Kliff is a great venue to host dinner. I'm so excited for you!

Thank you so much for taking the time to review and report back. It's definitely helped me out already. Thanks girls! Cheers
  24. Hey Dreams Brides! Is anyone coordinating with Rebeca as their WC? She's been great when it comes to correspondence, and replies really quickly.
