  1. Hi. Like Mango Deck said earlier, Paisa's tacos are aweesome, those are real 100% mexican style, they are really good, and not expensive. Pm me if you need any info
  2. Hi, Congratulations on your engagement. Indeed July is Hot, but not as hot as August. July 4th is a great idea for your wedding, just remember that next year it'll be a Sunday, so your prices might increase since, most of the vendors don't work on sundays. Do you have a location? Usually hotels and some restaurants celebrate the Independence day with buffets, special menus, fireworks... The whole nine yards. Feel free to ask anything. Happy planning
  3. Hi. From my experience, go with Del Cabo Event Designs, they're the best at what they do and the one with more inventory, ask for Sergio I'm sure he can give you an excellent price.
  4. Hi there. Dreams is an excellent resort to get married, it's an all inclusive hotel, their rates are very good, you can have your weddinga t the beach or at the gazebo and the reception in one of their nice terraces, like Cascadas or Oceana (My personal fav. by the way), is a lot more private, intimate, this way you and your guests will enjoy the evening even better. Dreams DO let outside WC, the dreams coordinators, actually, have no problem when working with an outside WC because they have too many weddings on their hands, and it's hard for them to give the same amount of time and quality to each and everyone one of them. Good luck and have fun planning your wedding.
  5. We've been to Lover's beach. It's a gorgeous strip of land right in the middle of Land's End. You have to take a Water taxi, although, my ex-boyfriend-now-hubby (just got married on Apr 30th), took me there by walking and let me tell you, even though I like climbing and walking, I dont recommend it... You have to know how to get there and when to run, since you have to clear the strong currents from the Pacific Ocean like 3 or 4 times.
  6. Hi Brandi Although there's some post like this one, you could give her a day or two for answering your emails, since RIU is a very solicited resort for weddings and she has a lot of emails to answer. About the photographer, they have their own photog that has an exclusive contract with them, and many brides have found this to be a not so good call on RIU's side, but I've worked with Mango Productions and they're really good at what they do, so you can be at ease on that matter. If you need any other vendors, there are plenty of us around here and the brides on the forum can help you with feedback and info on them. Happy planning
  7. Hi Professor. The on-site coordinator Adriana, (Not me though), is very accesible and the Hotel has a very good price range. It went through a remodeling, so it end up looking very nice. It has a beautiful beach front, although, the whole area is really quiet. Good luck and have fun planning you're wedding.
  8. EXCELLENT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations and I'm very happy that things are changing in RIU. Your wedding, I'm sure it will be amazing.
  9. Hi there. There about 15 kms away, Marquis is on the corridor and Cabo Surf is right in the entrance to San Jose; about the cab fare... Honestly, I would rent a car or take a bus, cab fares are way too expensive in cabo. For example, if you take a cab from San Jose to Cabo San Lucas, which are 40 minutes aways from one another, they charge a friend of mine USD $80.00 PER PERSON... So, if you can rent a car, rent it.
  10. Back with news about them... I was checking with my fireworks vendor and he priced me... $10,000. MXN a minute, so, depending on the vendor your WC is using, she's giving you the right pricing. Although, one minute sounds like so little time, but with the excitment, the black night and the quality fireworks you're having... It'll be one hell of a show. Good Luck
  11. Hi Lisa. It is so sad what's happening to you, unfortunately, that's got RIU writting all over it. I used to work with them for almost 2 years, and one thing I learned in that time is that, if they change their mind about something, they won't change it back. Many times I had to suck it all up and deliver bad news to brides that had other things planned, just like you this days. Someone (Can't remember who), said that they were "flaky" about somethings, believe, they're not when it's for their benefit (like this situation). But like I said before, if they told you that they won't let you bring your own photographer, they won't. They will negotiate with you, that he can come and take your pictures, BUT, and this is a huge BUT, you would still have to pay for the photographer that is included in the package, because (this is funny), the package is like it is and they can't brake it, because then it wouldn't be a package. They told me to say that once, so, I might know a bit. Anyways, I know you'll resolve this issue. Best Wishes
  12. Hi S. Last time I used fireworks, they were around the $900, a minute. But that was way back on October 08. I can't remember the name of the vendor yet, but I'll let you know if I found anything.

    Hello

Hi Vanessa Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your wedding. There are so many beautiful places around the world, that it's just a matter of what you like. Good luck
  14. Hi Depending on what you like, there are so many lovely places here in Cabo... For the ceremony you could use: Pedregal Beach (nice, quiet, with a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean and Private-ish) Fiesta Americana & Hilton (both have good service, excellent restaurants and beautiful beach front) Cabo Azul (on the "high-end" street, but still, it's amazing) Sunset Da Monalisa Puerta Vieja Restaurant Those places you could use for both, your ceremony and the receptcion, and get rid of the hazzle of transportation. For the reception I would suggest: Mi casa (authentic mexican cuisine, and great food) La Golondrina (nice setting and excellent dinners) Peacocks (Mexican fussion food, they have some really good surprises there) Edith's (Nice ambience, really good food, a bit pricey) The Office (More relaxed than Edith's buth they're brothers, so, it works the same way) Mango Deck (Totally relaxed ambience, nice dinner though, they have a grill righ on the beach... DELICIOUS, lower prices than the rest) I hope this can help, after reading what happened to you with Erika, it would be nice for you to have exactly what you deserve... The Best Day of Your Life!!!! Good Luck
  15. Hi Ladies Sadly, Mexico nowadays have been experiencing some a nasty "War on Drugs" (sounds familiar LoL). But anyways, even though this drug war is all over the country, Baja and Cabo are one of the safest places to be, maybe because we are so far away from the mainland, or because it's so much dessert that they can't grow weed here, jejejeje...But it's really safe, line everyone else said, stay on the safe side and you'll stay safe. Like any other city in the world, Cabo has it's red areas, so, as in any other city in the world, don't go wandering to this area and don't go looking for trouble.
  16. Hi Ladies Dino & Tez, are absolutely riht about the bonfires, the only downside is that, there is a regulation for the bonfires, but it's more like a "commitment" between the Resort or Restaurant that sets the bonfire and the Authorities. It's not abig deal, if you want to have some more info, you can talk with Victor Chacon or Beto, they're the CEO's at Las Palmas Restaurant (a.k.a El Medano Beach Club). Their contact mail is [email protected] Good Luck

  18. Hi J. Like you said, it all depends... But with 12K, you can have an awesome wedding date. We all know that Cabo is a hot spot, but still, with the right vendors you can have something extraordinary, gorgeous and, least but not important, unforgettable. Best Wishes
  19. Hi Ladies I've been reading the posts and questions that many of the brides have about Rev. Marco Arechiga Ladies, if you want to have an unforgettable experience go with Him, if you want a person that will make you feel you've known him forever and that speaks from his heart, He's the one. I've worked with him in 85% of my weddings, so I can tell from experience. The way He interacts with Bride & Groom is wonderful, He really means what He says and He knows what buttons to push in order to make, each and everyone of the guests, as excited as the Bride & Groom. In case that He's unavailable, My second chocie would be Rev. Jorge Arechiga, He's Rev. Marco's brother and He is, also, excellent. Like someone said above, It must run in the family, because these two gentlemen are, extremely good at what they do. I don't mean any disrespect for any ohter Reverend in Cabo, after all, they're all really good. Best Wishes
  20. Hi Nicole The Hilton is a great resort to get married, it's very private and the service is top quality. The restaurants, the sites and the staff are so attentive, you are in for a great time.

Hi Kristi Welcome to the forum, I'm sure we all can give you a little help about the place. There are so many places that can be perfect beach spots for your wedding, it all depends on your taste. Lets take the beautiful Baja for example, you have a wedding hot spot in Cabo, but also, there are so many beaches, bays that are simply breath taking, secluded beaches and boutique hotels, colonial towns... And so on. Jamaica is an amazing place too, as well as Costa Rica or The Mayan Riviera... Don't hesitate to ask, any of the girls (and some of the guys) will be able to help you.

    Hello

Hi Jamie Cabo is such a beautiful place, it has everythin you need to make the weddings of your dreams come true... You can find any type of service you want, the flowers you decide, gorgeous sunsets, amazing views, beautiful beaches and great resorts. I'm sure you'll have fun planning your wedding.
  24. Hi Ashley Congratulations!!!!!! and also, welcome to the forum, You'll find lots of help here from all the girls. Cabo is a wonderful place to get married, high-end services and resorts, beautiful beaches, gorgeous sunsets... I could go on and on about it, but I'll skip that part. Have fun while planning the most beautiful wedding you can.
  25. Hi Ange The last time I worked with Riu, the bride was able to choose an outside vendor as long as a $100.00 USD day pass was paid, but rules change, you know? anyways, Mango Productions, the guys that have the exckusive at Riu are pretty good, I've worked with them before and they're really really good. If you don't have a problem with the day pass you can bring your own photographer but if you do, you shouldn't worry that much, Jerome and company take some nice pictures too.
