To make a long story short, I have had years of headaches and shoulder pain. Recently an MRI revealed signs of pinched nerves in my shoulder. I am seeing my Doctor on Wednesday, but all the research I have done online is suggesting surgery. I am FREAKING out!!!. I have my wedding in October (13 people already booked.) Not to mention the costliness of all these Dr visits and MRI's.How am I supposed to save for this wedding? On the other hand, I would LOVE to find the answer to the pain I have been having for many years. I am just scared! I don't think my FI is being very supportive either. He keeps saying "you'll be fine" (he is a Dr too, mind you.) When he says that it makes me feel like he is minimizing the situation, making me feel dramatic. Also, he is on vacation this week, went to see his family in another state while I am stuck here freaking out and in pain. Thanks for listening. Just needed to get that out!

Congratulations!! There are a lot of options and it is easy to get overwhelmed. My FI and I are getting married at the Melia Caribe Tropical in October, which is next door to the Paradisius. We had been there on our first vacation and abolutely LOVED it. We were toying with other options after we got engaged (because there are so many) but stuck with Melia becasue we already know the food/drinks/ ambiance are AMAZING! Good luck with your search. I have a 13 year old son. He will be a goomsmen and we will also be doing the sand ceremony. I had not even thought of the vows yet, but I think this is a very nice option.

I am in the same boat. About 50 people coming. A welcome dinner is included up to 35 people in our package. I think it would be rude to get rid of only 15. Maybe we will just do the immediate family and wedding party and then have a cocktail party. This is a tricky situation. When do you plan on telling people about the weclome party, and how?

I am curious if you have noticed any jealous/ weird behavior from any of your bridesmaids? I heard there is always one girl in every wedding. So one of my friends for 10 + years has been distant since I got engaged. She doesn't seem happy for me. If I try to talk about wedding stuff to her she just has a negative response. So I fianlly quit talking about it to her. I don't think this is fair though, I only have 3 bridemaids. I finally wrote her an e-mail about her distance, and she turned it around on me. Saying she feels like a 3rd wheel with my fiancee and I. Complaining that I bring him everywhere (which I don't.) WE all 3 work together, and I thought we were all friends. Also, she said that our friendship had changed a LONG time ago. Just some really unfair things. Things that maybe she should've said a while back. We are going to be talking in person soon about all this. Just trying to gather my thoughts. The thing is, I know she didn't like being a bridesmaid in her 2 brothers wedding. So i have been sensitive to that. We haven't hashed things out completely yet. How do I know if she really wants to be my bridesmaid? It really hurts when the people closest to you can seem to be happy for you. Thanks for your advice.

Our wedding is in October, when should we register? Also, other than the website- how do you let people know where you are registered? Bridal shower invites?

I don't know what to do about that either. We actually have about 40 people attending our wedding. I think in our case most people are coming (surprisingly). So now we are spending a lot more money. I don't think we can swing an ATR. Maybe we can have a small party at our house for the people who can't come?

Do you still have the flip flops?

How many of you girls are doing either of these? I was thinking of a brochure for information about the weekend. Not sure what to do about a wedding program. What did you put in your wedding program? I wouldn't know what to put in it since I don't know the ceremony setup until we get there. We are having a symbolic ceremony, followed by a sand ceremony. Is a program necessary?

I did our STD's in calligraphy. Not professional, but it looked nice. What should I do for our wedding invites? Also, what are you girls doing for return address labels? i was going to order from Vista Print with our logo.

That is interesting, I would think prices would be going DOWN due to the economy.

In Punta Cana, at the Melia Caribe they have a musical trio that I read is worth the money. we are planning on having them.

Our colors are pool blue and chocolate brown. The girls are wearing blue dresses. I thought the fiancee should wear a chocolate suit (having a hard time finding) not sure about the GM. We went to Macy's the other day and saw Blue dress shirts. Do you think that would go with brown pants for the GM, or is that too much blue. We would like the FI to definitely wear a suit (with a blue tie) and keep the GM more casual.Any suggestions?

We are getting married on a Sunday at Melia Caribe. Just a symbolic ceremony. we plan on getting hitched before we go.

drtracy- I am glad you like the bags. For THAT price, you can't beat it. I thik they are perfect for the beach. As for the colors, I'll get right on asking everyone their favorite color- not. lol.
