Ohhhh, Greece would be amazing! My DH friend got married in Greece a couple of years ago and the pictures looked beautiful! Congrats and happy planning
  5. I totally see where you are coming from. I was in a similar situation and it really bothered me durings points. My DH nor I have really kept in touch with our "life long friends", we have moved a couple of times in the last few years and haven't had the opportunity to gain new solid friendships. When I use to think about who would come to our wedding it really upset me. Anyways, as the wedding got closer I cared less and less. I related back to why we are getting married and why we are doing it the way we are. I decided to stop thinking about "how it should be" but instead realized that this is our life together and our path and really I couldn't be happier :)We ended up only having family attend the wedding (and all mine, but that is another story) and I loved every part of it! We didn't have a wedding party either. I am glad you are going ahead with your shower. My sister and cousin threw me my bachelorette party (I moved back to a small town in the area of where I grew up til I was 10), it was mostly my family and sisters friends and a couple of people that I went to elementary school with. It was so nice to have people around that knew my family and people that I didn't see in 15 years, it felt special
  6. Wow, so exciting, your almost there! Everything looks great, and I love the bra thingy
  7. My DH and I love red wine! I deprived myself for about 3 months prior to the wedding and not I can't stay away We like to try anything different, but right now I am loving Greg Norman Limestone Coast Shiraz.
  8. We stayed in Cuba for 14 nights in total, 7 nights on the resort with family, 2 nights on the resort alone after everyone left, and then 5 nights in Havana alone. I am so happy we stayed longer than everyone else and took the time to do what we wanted to. I would recommend spending at least a couple of nights alone after the wedding

I often find that when you tell someone you are from NL they always ask you if you know such and such, like just because you're from NL you should know everyone, but it is so true! I think we should start a NL thread at some point and see how we might all be connected
  13. I have been back almost a couple of weeks now and am I bit slow writing my review, but I will soon! I just want to let you ladies know that Cuba is awesome, we enjoyed every piece of it and am so happy we choose it for our wedding. The resort was perfect for us (Sol Palmeras), the beaches amazing and we loved our honeymoon in Havana (NH Parque Central). I will be doing the review soon, but if anyone has any questions before then please let me know:) I also have tons of non pro pics of our resort and in Havana if anyone would like to see. I have posted the link to the post of our pro pictures done by Anna at Cineart Photography in Calgary. We are totally blown away and LOVE what she has done for us. We loved being around her at the resort and in Havana, she is such a sweetie and her passion for Cuba clearly shines threw her work. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t42082
  14. YAY, I have pro pics to share from our AMAZING photographer Anna from Cineart Photography in Calgary! I will write more about it in my review, but for now I do have to say that we are thrilled with the photos Anna not only does great work but she is such a great pleasure to work with. She spend time with us on the wedding day at the resort and then the following week drove with us to Havanna for more pics. She captured exactly what we were hoping for, we feel so privileged that she shared and captured our memories Follow the link to her blog and in the second post down there is a link to our slide show (Amy and Howard).
