  1. you know what...the SAME THING is happening to me Chris and I have been dating 9 YEARS and just are about to get married and his brother asks his now financee after 8 MONTHS...they are getting married 3 months after us and my future MIL is paying for them both to come to our wedding but not giving us a PENNY for our wedding..not even a rehersal dinner that I asked for! I try not to be selfish but her favoritism is sickening! You are not alone..I know exactly how you feel..it sucks!

Yes our weddings are 2 days apart! How exciting...we should get together for a pre wedding drink! Thanks for the info. I also emailed my photog to see what she thinks. The pictures are really important to me, but I really want a beach reception so I am still thinking about the garden...not sure yet.
  3. Quick question for any past brides. I am having my reception on the beach and am wondering if there will be enough light for first dance photos and such...does anyone have any advice or input?
  4. Everything looks amazing!! Quick question...did you do an iron on transfer for your oot bags..they look awesome!

There are so many details, like this one, where I really have no idea what else I should be planning, or how it will all pan out... I was told around $70 but that was from my travel co ordinator and not the hotel it self...I am going to email today and ask! We won't be having music for anything other than dinner, and the dances...for the cake cutting and such I will just let it play.
  6. That makes me so glad that mine just arrived...however i do agree that I probably would have paid more...maggie makes such beautiful dresses
  7. I am back from my 2 month vacation and am SO GLAD to have you ladies around. There are lots of negative people around and it so nice to come here and get excited about the wedding again! My dress has just arrived and i am working out at the gym like mad to fit into it...hopefully the seamstress will let me push back my dates a bit. I am ready to jump back into the planning! Thanks again for cheering me up!
  8. I too am using and ipod and I was told that they will have someone there to run it. Wow, a lot has gone on in the 2 months since I have been gone! we had 2 months with no wedding talk and it was certainly needed...of course once we got back the extended family started acting up again...I have 2 months and a bit to go and I am SO EXCITED!
  9. This is a hard question to answer...I have tried to pinpoint why I love him so much and it just is. The one thing that stands out it the way he loves me. He is not a very romantic/emotional guy so to see the love in his eyes and how intense it is just moves me. He is my best friend, first and foremost, and has supported me fiercely through everything. I have been often asked why we are together...he is quite a joker/life of the party kinda guy and I am much more reserved about how loud I can get...he pokes at me a lot and is antagonistic and people want to know if that drives me crazy...yes it does, but somehow we have always just been drawn together...since the day we met almost 9 years ago...we have spent almost every day together with love and laughter and complete stuborness on both sides He is the other half of me, my opposite and we just fit.
  10. You are not alone, we have had a LOT of fights about the wedding..mainly because his mom is causing friction and has just made the whole planning process a nightmare. I think that you nailed it all when you said that pretty much this time of year is causing you stress...that'll do it.
  11. Hey Jenny, I am in ontario as well and getting married in mx. I THINK I just figured it all out and can tell you what I am doing...I know the hotels are different but I might be able to help if you can give me some guidelines as to what she is asking for. I will try anyways!
  12. I have had this problem too. My FMIL REFUSES to have the rehersal dinner off resort because it is "not safe" to leave the resort. I totally disagree, we are in a nicer area of mexico and that is just BS to me. Imagine my excitement at telling her in the future that my dad is having a welcome dinner but don't worry we didn't make reservations for you because we know you are "not safe" to leave the resort...please enjoy your buffet dinner while we go out on the town This is what it has been like with my MIL since we got engaged I am just telling people that it is safe to go out...just be smart...like you are when you walk out your front door.
  13. Just my 2 cents here: We booked through condo villa hotel world and received a "limited time" discounted rate. I t wasn't a group rate, but for a month or so they gave us a discount on the room rates which helped a bit for some of us. I think I was the only one who booked through them, everyone else got a flight/stay deal through airtransat. I was surprised to find out that march/april/and may are actually their high season. I would have rather gotten married in the low season but it didn't work out that way. They keep telling me that May is high season...I didn't realize that!
  14. So it turns out that the beach wedding is right in front of the pelicanos restraunt...in high season..which should pretty much make the wedding a show! I am seeing if I can move it to a bit lower traffic area..I doubt it but I have to try ETA: no dice! Can anyone that has seen the pelicanos restraunt give me an idea of how public an area this is?
  15. Thanks so much Geminie! I am going to email my wc paty and ask her which location I will have...looks like in front of the gazebo would be nicest!
  16. I would also leave the spot open. My party is uneven as well and I think it would be a wonderful little way of saying we miss you. So sorry to hear...how terrible.
  17. I am with the last few girls! I am wearing maggie's diana with a chapel length veil..I keep joking to my mom and sister that I will look like I walked out of the church and on to the beach and they tell me "it's your wedding wear whatever you like" I do agree that my FMIL would complain about it...if I told her...but I gave her the big FU a little while ago so she doesn't get a say anymore. I would just tell them "thank you for your opinion" and drop it. You will look stunning and you don't have to have to prove it to ANYONE! I'm sure your FI will want what makes you happy (seems to be the safest position for them)
  18. I was just going to say how embarassed I am that the government is yet again wasting our money. i am not politically savy, but my thoughts are...as canadians we JUST had our say...let them get to work now. Stop wasting my money on this stuff!

We did decided to get him a titanum ring so that he won't scratch and dent the heck out of it, but I think a tattoo would be great. I do agree that it would have to be touched up a lot..ouch!
  20. Thanks so much ladies! I am hoping to give it to her this weekend! She is a hard woman to catch!
