I have to admit, talking about the wedding as if it's going to happen feels good. Of course it is going to happen! All the panic is media related and they will get bored of it by the time we leave. All of our families are on airtransat on the 23rd, but we are on american airlines because we are flying to turks and caicos for our honeymoon...it's a long story, but that is where we originally planned the wedding... So we couldn't book a package.

I literally have hired a DJ, a photographer, a videogapher-and will now only have 18 people if i am lucky. UGH. I really dont know what to do now Hang in there! I am so sorry this is happening to you. I wish people would do some research before they panic. Jax was right..something like 36000-40000 people die of the regular flu every year...there is absolutely no reason to panic and you have to be in CLOSE contact to get it. I'm so sorry...I don't think anyone knows how much of ourselves we put into these events.

We have to have a drink...I will need one!

Thanks so much ladies for your support. Have tried to be positive through this whole thing and I kinda feel like kitty from that 70's show "oh everything is swell" everytime something crappy happens...and I just cracked... Feeling a bit better. We will be married somewhere and hopefully my dress will not be clumped up all around my waist!
  6. and so the swine flu heads my way. My one and only bridesmaid is not coming... You know what...absolutely EVERYTHING has gone wrong with this wedding...honestly ladies I apologize because since the day we got engaged everything has gone wrong...we were supposed to get married in turks and caicos and then my devil of a MIL interveined and so we changed to mexico and honestly...if we were getting married in turks the swine flu would have been there...so this is my fault and my damn cursed wedding's fault so my appologies to all of the other may brides that are having to suffer from my curse. PS...MY DRESS DOESN"T FIT EITHER...there...I said it.
  7. I am so happy you ladies are here! I think everyone else is so sick of hearing me talk about the wedding...it's so nice to be able to come on here and just talk wedding all the time xoxox
  8. I always get travel health insurance when I go. Might be a good thing to recommend to your guests to help put their mind at ease
  9. My FI's side of the family pushed us into getting married in Mexico so I highly doubt they will say anything about it...really, I would feel bad for them if the did...I have ZERO patience left for them. My family does not panic easily, so hopefully I will be ok. I am so sorry that people are canceling because of it...so sad for you
  10. How fun! I will make sure to get a picture at my next fitting in 2 weeks for this thread!
  11. how about your wedding jewelry? Or maybe your candle light dinner outfit? Or on the fun side your honeymoon outfits...rawwwr!

I am not doing a huge amount of decor...the chairs will have fuschia or turqoise sashes...I will try to seat the ladies in the fushcia and the guys in the turq...other than that I am doing half of each colours in pashmina's on the table for the ladies.
  14. It all looks so wonderful! Have the GREATEST TIME! I can't wait to hear your feedback on the royal since I am only 20 days behind you! BTW you look stunning in your dress
  15. Yael- This is my dress Diana - by Maggie Sottero It is really pretty...I really don't like it on the model but for some reason it suits me...who it totally NOT model like at all Ladies--DO I need a receipt for my dress?? GAH
  16. Lisa you look stunning. I really really like the necklace too! I am having such necklace issues..I can't find the right one..or I am overthinking it...probably the latter
  17. You girls are making me nervous about forgetting something! I might as well start packing a month in advance!

I would check with your WC just in case...I am certainly not a wealth of knowledge on this subject

I also found out yesterday that they have changed the requirements for getting married. If you have never been married before you now only need your passport, blood tests and arrival thingy from the airport. That totally saved my butt because I got all the wrong paperwork legalized and authenticated...
  20. I am also getting married at 4pm...I was told the sun goes down around 5:30 in may so that will give me about an hour for after ceremony pictures

I hope so too...I was halfway through a meltdown yesterday when i found this out...no one told me and i wouldn't have known if I didn't have this HUGE problem with my papers...so I am hoping that I can save someone the headache and extra $$ Honestly, i am waiting for someone to tell me I am wrong because it seems too good to be true! Also just to make totally clear it only applies to people who have NEVER been married
  22. I am obviously way late to the show here...but can you tell me where you got them from?
  23. yes! I would double check with your resort but they told me as long as neither of us had ever been married all needed to bring was passports then when we are there we get the card thingy from the airport and our blood tests. Apparently these are very new rules....I confirmed with my WC and she said it was correct but I would double check with your WC...it might be different per area
  24. have you tried air transat? All of my guests booked though them and seem to have gotten good deals...not sure what their prices look like for 2010
