  1. That dress looks so lovely on you and it is perfect for a warm wedding. Not sure why you don't like your nose but I would love to have your nose over mine!!
  2. lol oh dear! I do totally sympathize with you on the FMIL thing, mine would TOTALLY say something like that to me...in fact, she kind of already did. She told me that I should wear white to show my "purity", yes she actually said that even though deep down she knows that we're not "pure" by her standards...whatever lol. Get what you really want! And personally, I love that coloured dress, and think it is perfect for a DW. Good luck with your search, I know it's hard and daunting and it seems like everyone else has an idea of how you should look. Just get what looks good on you and answer only to you

Anyhoo, I love the birdcage veil look on others, it's so classic-chique and if you can pull it off then do it! The black one is nice, I don't think it's too funeral but then again, that's just me. Good luck!!
  4. Hey ladies! I'd like to borrow one too if that's ok, I think they are so cute and I love the whole starfish bride concept! My wedding is on Feb 19/09, please post here or pm if you can help me out. Thanks so much!
  5. Hey LindoBride! My little sis is apparently throwing me a shower on Jan 3/09 (I'm not supposed to know hehe), but I'm not registered anywhere
  6. I don't know if this has been mentioned upthread or not, but for those of you DT ladies looking to get relocated and don't mind resorts who DO have more than one wedding per day, I've read on palladiumaddict.net that they are up to 5-6 weddings/day. Something to consider. It really is a fabulous resort, I had a blast there 3 years ago. Good luck!!

    Hi All!

Congrats and good luck with your planning, you will find so many resources and good information here!

    hello

Welcome Ashley, congrats on your upcoming wedding!
  9. Congrats and welcome! Your wedding date is two days after mine!
  10. Hey! I guess you could say, technically speaking, that we are honeymooning at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach (same resort that we're having our wedding at). We took two weeks off from work and we're having our wedding the first week we're there. I'm looking forward to it!!

I think they'll look good. I also got a pair for myself and one of my friends wants one too Thanks for the advice/opinions. I love polling on BDW! Hey no worries! Thanks for the reply! I love them and I think I will order them tonight, so thanks again for posting them...you rock!

I tried on a bunch of beautiful, flowy chiffon dresses because they're nice and light for a DW, but I found that for me, they kind of make me look pregnant (which I am not) lol. So those were out of course! I'm really glad I kept looking and that my mother insisted I keep looking because I absolutely adore my dress, even if it is a bit heavy fabric-wise for a DW. At least I'll be the only one suffering haha, pain is beauty I guess
  13. Ooooh, I love that!!! Maggie Sottero makes such gorgeous dresses, I think I'm in love with her whole website haha. I'm sure this will look great on you, keep us all posted!!
  14. So basically, I guess according to the Iberostar board thread, I should get the translation just in case so my ass is covered should anything come up with regards to that. Right? Thanks for the link, LindoBride!
  15. Hey ladies! I was just wondering if any of you staying at Del Mar/Beach help me out. I've been in touch with Ms. Gabriela Palacios (wc for Del Mar/Beach) over the last few months, and she informed me that the only required documents for our civil ceremony are our birth certificates (long form) which DO NOT need to be translated in to Spanish and our passports. Has she told anyone else here the same thing? It seems too easy to be true and I don't want to go there in Feb and be denied my wedding because I didn't have a document translated when I was supposed to. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!!
  16. I don't think you're being silly at all! That sounds like a very complicated situation that she got herself in to. I can't help but wonder and wish that she had used more protection maybe? Protecting yourself is probably a better option than abortion, but I understand why people get abortions, but I don't know how I personally feel about the issue...I'm on the fence about the whole abortion thing. Regardless, what's done is done, and I guess that no one should be dwelling on her decision, it can't be taken back now. Ultimately, I think if there was some way she could have protected herself more thoroughly, that would have been best. I hope I didn't offend anyone with this reply, just giving my thoughts. I truly wish your cousin all the best with her little one that she already had and with her studies.
  17. I love #1 and would totally wear those with MY wedding dress. Where did you find them? Anyhoo, I voted for #1 because I think they would look really cute with that dress too. Good luck!

It doesn't seem fair that they lock up all of their goods and padlock the closet but that may be the only guarantee that stuff doesn't go missing. Should I stop reading the reviews and focus on the positives? I know people are more likely to complain than give a positive review. I'm totally freaking out and my FI is just increasing my paranoia! Obviously I want to bring my e-ring and wedding band for the wedding with me to Mexico, but he keeps saying "what if it gets stolen?", I kind of need those for the ceremony though! I don't know what to do...it makes me really sad actually.

Hehe, thank you! I still love mine and can't wait to put it back on again That's a great deal, that's half of what I paid, nice work!
  20. Since I'm on a tight wedding schedule (six months to the day after my engagement), I didn't have the luxury of ordering a dress, so I was trying on samples off the rack for purchase. I've lost 20 lbs in the last six months and was shocked to learn I fit in to a size 8 wedding dress, especially since everyone here has been saying that they usually run smaller than normal sizes (I didn't even know I was back down to single size digits - this goes to show how much I go dress shopping haha). I still would love to lose anywhere from another 10 - 20 lbs with my personal trainer over the next four months before my wedding, that's why I'm glad the dress I chose has a corset closure so that essentially, I'll be able to pull it in if necessary. I'm hoping that if I lose a lot of weight that the dress needs to be taken in significantly that the tailor will be able to do that. I'm a little nervous, but confident still. Good luck!!
  21. It looks great on your body! I knew as soon as I saw it that it was a Maggie dress! Were you able to get a good deal on it, unlike myself? lol
  22. Congrats on your engagement! I was considering Barcelo but Iberostar had availability for when I wanted to go. I stayed at the Grand Palladium three years ago for someone's wedding and it was awesome, I highly recommend it!
