  1. I don't know of any websites but I do know that a lot of places that make wedding invitations also do the personalized napkins...just call up a few places nearby that make invitations and see if they can do napkins using your logo. Hopefully this helps!

  3. Congrats and welcome back Michelle! I can't wait to see some pics and to read your review!

We also looked at Del Sol, Cecilia Dumas, Dino Gomez, and Claudia Rodriguez. You could also consider bringing your own photographer down with you. I was able to find a recent list of mayan photogs on here awhile ago but can't seem to find it right now. I'll keep looking and I'll post the link if I find it.
  6. I'm aiming for 5 pounds by Christmas...what a time of year to be trying to lose weight! I seriously thought that having a DW alone would be enough to motivate me to lose some weight but apparently not! I feel like I've been putting on weight rather than losing it! 2 major things that my FI and I have done is cut out eating past 9pm and drinking pop (I am so addicted to Pepsi-it's going to be tough).
  7. I can understand why you can't stop looking at them! They are great! I especially love the one of the two of you sitting with the water splashing! Great pics...it makes me excited for my own!
  8. I had a friend get married at the Iberostar Lindo this past January and she used the resort photographer. When I saw her pictures I was really disappointed. We immediately decided to splurge on an outside photographer. My friend said they didn't speak english very well at all and they have all of these poses they want to take regardless of whether or not you want them to. When they print the pictures for you, they glue them down in an album in a total random order and there was no taking them off the pages. I guess it all comes down to how important the pictures are to you. I have said from the beginning that pics are one of the most important things for me so there was no question about hiring someone outside of the resort. We are having Elizabeth Medina photograph our wedding and I couldn't be more excited!!!

  11. Congrats and welcome to the forum! You will find so much information on here! I am getting married at the Lindo on April 1, 2009!
  12. Hi Linda! Congrats! I am also getting married at Iberostar Lindo just a few weeks before you! You should join the Iberostar thread!
  13. We used discountmugs.com. You can sign up for emails on their website and then wait for a promotion (we waited for free shipping). I'm really happy with how they turned out! I don't have any pics yet....feel free to PM me if you have any questions!
  14. I love it! What a good idea to have the 2 poles connected to a heart! It looks great!
  15. How fun! I love the zebra print shoes! They look great with the dress!

We're in the process of gathering information on the stay and were wondering if anyone can give us some helpful advice/details on securing a group rate. In all likelihood, we'll be requiring 30-35 rooms from the Iberostar and were curious what the best plan of attack for securing a group rate would be. Through a travel agent? Through the Iberostar directly? Please drop a reply line if you can help. We went through a TA to get our group quote. They required 10 deposits to secure the group rate...we knew we had that right away with just our immediate family. I know that some people put the deposit down for the 10 spots themselves (and then take it off of their trip once others have paid the deposit). We let our family know ahead of time and were lucky that they were ready to put their own deposit down. I would definitely recommend going through a TA rather than the Iberostar directly-JMO. I really don't know how much of a savings you actually get! We lucked out as with 26 guests we get 1 free trip (and we are close to getting a 2nd trip free!). Let me know if you have any other questions!
  17. Once we had our date and location the first thing that we started working on was our website and our STD's. We wanted to have our website done before sending out the STD's (so that we could include the web address on the actual STD). Hope this helps!
  18. I was really apprehensive when I heard about having to have a blood test but a friend of mine got married in February in Mexico and said it was such a simple process. She said that it was very professional, quick and easy. She assured me that there is nothing to worry about! I think that if you are on a 4 star resort or better that you have nothing to worry about...
  19. I love the idea of giving a donation...I usually don't end up keeping wedding favors (unless they are edible...in which I eat them right away!) so I love the idea of money being used for a worthwhile cause. I am a teacher and for our favors we are planning on either donating school supplies or money to a few schools in Mexico! Mexico is giving me the wedding of my dreams and it's a way of feeling like I am giving back. I don't imagine that our guests will feel "ripped off"...at least I hope they don't-We are giving them OOT bags when they arrive.
  20. edit: adding a "tricky" question! what exactly does this $300 outside photographer fee mean? i'm thinking about doing a TTD session a day or too after the ceremony. does this $300 cover one photographer? one day? one photoshoot?! i hate to ask the wc because i'm scared of the answer. lol I don't think that you'll have to pay the $300 for a TTD session a few days after your wedding. As far as I understand it, you are paying the $300 for not using the resort photographer for your actual wedding. The resort photographer package doesn't include a TTD session does it? If not, then I don't think they can charge you for a TTD days later. You will just need to pay for a day pass for your photographer if they are coming in to do the TTD. that's how I understand it...
  21. We got engaged July '07 and will be getting married in April '09...so 1 year and 8 months. It does seem like people are having longer engagements these days. I can remember when I was younger saying that I didn't want to be engaged more than a year...then when I got engaged I didn't see the rush! I like being engaged!
  22. We ordered it from Banana Republic. They don't ship to Canada though so we had to have it delivered to North Dakota and then we drove down to pick it up. I was really concerned about ordering a suit online without trying it on too but we were told that suit sizes don't vary much at all. You could just go to a store and have your FI try some suits on and get his size. It all worked out for us, thankfully! I definitey wouldn't worry about whether or not you'll be able to get one in time. The only thing about getting them at the beginning of the season is that they will all be regular price.
  23. When we were shopping around (and couldn't find any), we were told that they start to appear in stores in late February but mainly early March. We are getting married April 1, 2009 and were told by all of the stores that we would be able to get one and have it altered in time. We decided to order one online because I was afraid that it would be too close for comfort! BUT..every single store we went to told us the same thing, late February/early March.
  24. Welcome to the forum! I am getting married at Iberostar Lindo on April 1, 2009. I have had nothing but a positive experience with the resort/wedding coordinators so far! It is an incredibly beautiful resort with amazing reviews! Congrats and good luck!
