Ok, I know that there are at least a few of us Manitoba girls on here so I thought I'd post this information. Us Canadian girls are always complaining that places don't ship to Canada. I found a business just over the North Dakota border (like 3 minutes over the border) that accepts parcels. You just use your information for the billing address and his information for the delivery address. It is called Menke's Parcel Service and is located in Neche, North Dakota The website is menkesparcel.com We have used it a few times now and he is a really nice guy. They accept pretty much anything! You just pay a small fee to pick it up (both times we only had to pay $2).

I tried doing a search on this and couldn't find anything. I have had a lot of our guests asking what the dress code is for a beach wedding. I wanted to put the dress code on our invitation and website. Do any of you know of any good wording to describe the dress code?

We included our website address and the contact information for our travel agent on our save the dates. Our website had lots of information about the resort and booking so that is where most people got the information from. We haven't sent out our invitations but I was thinking of putting the contact info for our travel agent on them, as well as our website for RSVP.

We ran into the same problem a few weeks ago but luckily we tracked a suit down in Virginia from a Banana Republic store and had it shipped. You could definitely afford to wait until the next 'season' of linen/tan suits come out. Every place that we talked to said the next season of linen/tan suits begins in early March...you could check with some of the stores in your area just to confirm. We would've waited but we would be cutting it too close!

Hi Ashley, 1. We booked as soon as our travel agent was able to get our group rate. It all happened very quickly...our agent got our rates and told us we needed 10 deposits to secure the rate. We started working on getting rates from airline carriers back in late March and secured a rate in April. 2. Our guests started booking for our wedding (which is on April 1, 2009) in May. Most of our guests have booked because they wanted to get in on the secured group rate, but some are waiting hoping to get in on a last minute deal. I can only speak for our travel agent with regards to better prices because I'm not sure what others do-but ours told us she'd match a lower price only 1 time. My sister found a lower price for us...and our agent matched it for all of our guests. 3. It depends on you/your TA. My TA offered to be in contact with the WC at the resort but I decided that I would be in contact with her myself. I know some people who let their TA do most of contact and some who 'share' the duties. I personally thought it would be easier if I was the only one in contact with the WC (it was nothing against my TA!). Hopefully this helps you out a bit. Feel free to ask any more questions! I'll try my best to answer them.

I have just been subscribing to them. You don't have to post to subscribe-if you go to the thread tools there is an option to subscribe to the thread. Then when you want to check on it, you can go to your UserCP and click on view all subscribed threads to find it. I don't know if this helps at all...hopefully it does!

I also like the teal palm tree-but like the font from the 2 black palm trees!

We are giving one bag per couple (so pretty much per room). We have some friends sharing rooms so each of them will get a bag. I haven't figured out how on earth we are going to lug all the stuff down with us but I'll worry about that later!

Hey Michelle! I also would love to see the wedding ceremony. I think we are leaning towards the steakhouse as well but I've heard the Italian is really good too! Was there a specific reason you chose the Steakhouse? Araceli recommended the Steakhouse for our group size (right now, 55 people). Do you have confirmation on your time from the Judge already? My friend got married at the Lindo in January and said they are pretty good at keeping people away (or at least out of photos) during the beach ceremony. It is definitely a concern of mine but she said that they have "security guards" making sure people don't walk behind/too close.

I think it's a great idea to have a thread for all of us Iberostar brides! I am getting married at the Lindo on April 1, 2009. I am slowly starting to get things done but still tons to do (obviously!). When are you arriving at the resort Lindobride? Maybe we'll be there at the same time!
