  1. Hey my fellow San-Antonio bride - I hope you had a FABULOUS wedding day!!! Can't wait to see the pics and hear all about it.
  2. My FI says the same thing...but I am trying to keep the bags to $10.00 per bag (in my case i will need about 20 bags) - so $200.00. That is not a lot to spend considering that guests are spending so much money to fly to the wedding (at least that I how I seem to be able to justify it with him). Perhaps if you do your own invitations, thank you cards etc - you will save some money on that, and you can show him that you are trying to save on other things, in order to have $ in the budget for the bags.
  3. I started working on my Boarding Pass invitations yesterday but wanted to share a lesson I learned...in the hopes it will help others. (i will post pics once complete). There is an area on the boarding pass that is perforated...so we bought a handy little perforator tool at Micheals and I went about perforating them. Well, without realizing it, I was pressing down too hard on the perforator, and i tore (MANY TIMES) through my table-cloth, but more importantly, I actually scratched numerous times my dining room table (it went right through the tablecloth). I had originally tried to do it on something spongy, but i found that the cut was too deep, and it was actually tearing the pieces apart...so the consistency of the table worked well - EXCEPT for the damages now caused - YIKES!!! Thought I'd share this to others can avoid this same problem. Other than that - it was a great project, and I loved all the advice and template ideas I got from the site
  4. I have had a TERRIBLE experience with destinationweddings.com......I have found them to be difficult to work with and non-responsive.....it sounds like the issue is with the wholesaler not with destinationweddings.com, but it also doesn't sound like destinationweddings.com has been very helpful eitheir. I cannot believe this - you must feeling like crying...or punching someone. I immediately "fired" Destionationweddings.com and today I called and emailed the manager of destinationweddings.com requesting my measly $50 back and letting her know what went down 2. FI filed a dispute for the stolen money from his bank account. 3. The Resort, Qamea Spa and Resort, have graciously saved my reservations and have been working with me to get it paid off. THIS TIME WE HAVE TO PAY WITH CC! SUCKS! The owner is a CA. lawyer and has been trying to contact the owners. He said that he left messages at their home number! 4. My DW Specialist, is all sad because 1. She didnt get her commission and 2. She is dealing with other customers who SHE had go through this TA. 5. I learned that the Travel Insurance doesnt really help in this case! 6. We will still leave on Thursday. But it really doesnt feel the same. (I could cry AGAIN) 7. The DW "Specialist" emailed me today stating that the company HAS not filed for bankrupts... which means they have embezzled our money... And that includes my guest 5K as well! 8. We will have to file a police report- I dont know how!!! Im in FREAKIN JAPAN FOR GODS SAKE!!!!!!! I will take any suggestions! So where TF is the TA? Im going to give you all the info I know. I found the B%%%% on Facebook and wanted to send them a message but I am not going to! Here is the Co. Info: (Please Post Maura) TRAVEL WHOLESALERS Exotic Escapes, Inc. 5. I stay on for 30 mins...but my trainer said really it needs to be 45-60 minutes...ARGH, who has 60 minutes to spend on there? I do the weight loss program, which is 4 minutes low intensity and 4 minutes medium intensity...it seems to work for me. QUESTION - what kind of elipticals does everyone have? I've been looking to get one, but they are a big investment, so i want to be sure I'm getting one that is going to last, and not feel like it's going to fall apart when I step on it.
  6. I did a hydro-fit aqua class at my gym yesterday ( a little more intense than a standard water-aerobics class) - it was awesome - an hour workout, and you don't get all sweaty (cuz you are in the pool) and you get to enjoy the sunshine and outdoors. I think that is where I will be found at 8:30am every Saturday from now until the wedding day Good luck to everyone on Wednesday...I just hope the numbers go down...never matters to me how much, just so long as they go down - ha ha.
  7. I love, love, love the dress...I would just be so scared about buying a dress (another one, as I've already bought one) without trying it on - it's risky! If there was somewhere in San Antonio, TX that had the dress...i would go and try it on in size 16 to see if it fit, or how much it needed to be altered..the dress I bougth was a 14 - but all the sizing is really different. FABULOUS dress...if you found something better than that, i cannot wait to see your new choice.
  8. I totally feel your pain...I lost my mom in September of 2007 and the pain and sadness has not yet gone away. Sometimes out of the blue, I just get sad and cry...and my FI tries to be supportive, but there is really nothing he can do to change the situation....it just SUCKS. I also have not been good about leaning on friends for support..sometimes I feel like they won't understand, and I don't want to be a burden to them. You are not alone in how you feel, I think it is very normal.
  9. Thanks Dawn Marie - those are perfect! It looks like those are teal...is that correct? Very nice!
  10. Definintely a good thought. Please let us know where you end up finding clear weights...
  11. I've tried to focus since Wednesday - been to the gym twice, have swam everyday and done a dog-walk twice/day.......my problem is every time i drive past COLD STONE CREAMERY - my car automatically turns into the parking lot Isn't that amazing??
  12. What size envelopes did you use for your rsvp's back? I am struggling with finding envelopes that will fit into the # 10 envelope (needed for the boarding pass invite)....
  13. WOW!! Beautiful dress, i especially love the beading and the necklie - so pretty.
  14. OH YES!!! That is very, very cute and doesn't overwhelm you, the way the other hair did
  15. Canvas bags are on sale right now at Hobby Lobby for 50% off. They come in bundles of 3, and with the discount are $2.99 for 3. I also bought the iron-on transfer thing there too (although that was more expensive then I thought). I realized I am focusing a little bit on too many things - invites, OOT stuff, the bags, luggage tags, BM gifts, my jewelery, my shoes, center-pieces, etc - I've decided that I will accomplish more if I only focus on one thing at a time - so today's the day. FOCUS ONLY on invitations!!! Let's hope that strategy works :) Quote: Originally Posted by amy706 So what all did everyone get done this weekend? 16. ha ha ha - our lists look almost identical - only I was in Ottawa last week on vacation and found my bridesmaid shoes at Global (or Globo or something) - they are super cute and were on sale for $19.00 - I couldn't believe it. Unfortunately i don't have photo's as I left them in Canada with my BM's, but check out that store - prices were very reasonable!!! Oh yeah - and I still have the daunting task of my invitations - YIKES!! I'm in the middle of changing jobs, so I took next week off between jobs to do wedding stuff - hopefully all my invites will be out by this time next week. 17. Niels - did you find your dress yet? have you found the one that "woos" you Quote: Originally Posted by niels408 Hooray for Dec '08 brides!!! I feel like I should be doing alot right now, but then the resort tells me to wait until @ 3months before to start planning the resort details (cake, flowers, etc.). What else should I be doing? I've gotten STD's out... Have you all already ordered or purchased your dresses? I'm going this weekend, just haven't found one yet that's "woo-ed" me. Lastly, are any of you feeling the stress of this "airline fuel costs" & companies going under or bankrupt? I have people afraid to book bc they aren't sure what will be when Dec. rolls @. Thanks, looking forward to chatting with you ladies, LOTS!!! Laura
  18. I need help - I'm trying to order 50 koozies, and i know myshopangel.com is good, but they have a 100 minimum. I know kustomkoozies.com is also good, but they have a VERY limited color selection (I am looking for teal, and the closest I can find their is ROYAL BLUE). Does anyone have any other suggestions, of places that will do a good job, be willing to do 50 rather than 100 and have a good color variety? Thanks to all the previous koozie-buyers for your expertise.. TGIF
  19. They look really good - now you are stressing me out because you are getting married only a few days before me QUESTION: Where did you find envelopes to fit the invitation? The invite looks like it would take a standard business envelope...but I can only seem to find those in white - and I'd love them in brown or blue instead. Any suggestions or links would be really appreciated.
  20. BECKS - I love them. I had bought something for people to wear around their neck from OT, but my FI said it looks like a vibrator - so needless to say, I'll be sending those one's back - ha ha. I opened up your template, but it was completely blank...just showing the outline of 8 squares...is that correct, or should I be seeing something on the ppt? I am not a good DIY person (though i am trying to become one), so i need all the help I can get - ha ha. Thank you
  21. WOW - very creative...people will love those I think.
  22. DUH...I just re-read your post that says you got it in white (with the print i presume) - i like that idea better than the pink
  23. I think the idea of a purse is nice...but if it was me, I would enjoy a solid vs a print (too many different tastes for different people), could you find something in a solid tan or brown or something. That purse is cute, but I'm not sure it's going to go with a lot of stuff....
