  1. WOW - awesome, I'm so glad you found these, I will definintely use this for music, photo's and seating arrangements. Thanks
  2. Hi there, I am planning on making programs fans for my ceremony. These will be in a 6 x 6 square shape, with about 1/2 inch of cardstock (in my wedding colors) as a border. I've seen the online companies that make these, and they don't look that hard...but i'm having a hard time finding the nice sticks. Popsicle sticks are OK...but the sticks that the professionals use, seem larger, wider and have some detail. Has anyone made these themselves? Would you have photo's? And would you know where I could find the good sticks? Thankis
  3. I got mine online...but it was way more then $1.00 (i think about $12 with shipping), so if you can find it at Michaels or Jo-Ann's go for it. The frame is pretty small, but it's a way to have my mom with me, and know she is close to my heart.
  4. Also, I would clarify on the apostille thing...originally the paperwork said we DID need apostille, and it was a pain in the butt to get it, but then later, they said we didnt' need that. Sort of like they said we had to be there 5 business days, but then later they said 4 - i find it really tough to pin down these requirements - they seem so shift constantly.
  5. My hotel said they would do the translation for me - as I experienced the same run-around you did...I think she said $30/page or something..I'd ask the WC at your resort.
  6. I found zappo's had a better selection than I expected - but I had to search under "wedding" in order to see shoes that could be potentially suitable. Love zappos cuz it's free shipping AND free returns.
  7. Hey Martha - i didn't realize you weren't in san Antonio anymore....where did you move to? Awww...I never even got to meet you in person...we should have had a BDW meet-up here in SA,
  8. Welcome - i'[m sure today won't be the last day that hours fly by while you are searching on BDW...lol
  9. That dress is so pretty......and looks fantastic on you! Your smile in the dress says it all

We are having a pretty small ceremony, a total of about 27 including my fiance and myself. I want to keep it intimate, but I'm sure there are things that I am not thinking of. For example, is anyone planning on using the spa for getting hair/nails done? Hi, i talked to a girl Amy who got married at the Del Mar in August, and she used the spa (same spa is used for all 5 resorts) and she said although they were pricey they did a fantastic job and the place was beautiful. She had her hair and make-up done there. She did recommend booking it several days if not weeks in advance, as they tend to fill up quickly. That made me feel better - i'd been worried about the quality of the spa, and having someone I didn't know do my hair and make-up for the first time.
  12. Love these - i'm heading to NYC in a few weeks and going to hopefullly find some for a good price and do the same...i love the turquoise and brown - those are my weddings colors and would be perfect
  13. I go to an Aveda salon...and they have a no-tipping policy - it's nice not to have to worry about it at the end of the hair appt - but i'm pretty certain the prices are higher than the norm...so i'm sure it's built in somewhere. The thing with Aveda is that one person washes, one applies your color, one washes out the color, your main stylist cuts and then someone else blow-dries...YIKES - how coudl I possibly tip all those people
  14. OK # 1 - the pink one is the winner! You guys ROCK and I really appreciate the honest feedback. I know I can always count on this group to give me their opinions without a vested interest in the outcome - it's very refreshing! THANK YOU everyone! The pink one for the rehearsal, and I will wear one of the others to the shower.

Many stores have some great deals right now on sundresses...Macy's had a great sale today, and Nordstroms online had the pink dress 50% off last week. Good time to be shopping for sundresses - selection is not great, but if you can find your size, the price is right
  16. Yari, where did you find your pashima's? I heading to NYC in a few weeks and hope to load up on them at that time - but would love to hear where you got yours.
  17. I want to participate..but i'm not sure I understand it. What kind of starfish do i purchase to pass on? The boquet starfish, or any kind (ie necklace, charm etc).......
  18. Boy - this has been quite a discussion with FI and I. I had about 6 songs that I thought would be perfect (such as: We've only just Begun, by the Carpenters, I can't help falling in love with you, by Elvis, Years from Now by Dr. Hook, Love of a Lifetime by Lifehouse, Always and Forever - Shania Twain..and he x'd all of them. Finally we decided on SAVE THE LAST DANCE FOR ME by Michael Buble. it is a bit of a faster song....and we started taking lessons last week. Our instructor said it's a RHUMBA beat - yikes...help me - i was thinking he would say a fast waltz - oh well - we'll fork out the $ for the lessons, and hopefully not embarass ourselves. ha ha

I don't think our guests are expecting it at all. Check out the OOTO threads for other ideas. Hi - Yes, we are doing OOT bags - but I was wondering if you are doing favors (at the actual tables) in addition to the OOT bags?
  20. I can't decide on my dress to wear to the Rehearsal dinner..and now i am probably over-thinking it. It will be a casual day - day-time we are going out on a boat for a snorkel trip, then we will come back to the hotel, freshen up and shower, and our group (about 30 of us) will go to the Japanese restaurant in the hotel for dinner (think Behinana). What are your thoughts on what looks best and is most appropriate? Of course hair and make-up will be done..and hopefully and god willing, after Biggest Loser 4 - i'll weigh 10 lbs less . Would love your opinions. # 1 - PINK DRESS - made of a chiffon material - this is a Maggie London dress from Nordstroms #2 - cheap ($10.00) from Marshalls - no name # 3 - Geometric Shapes - found this at Macy's today - on clearance #4 - Browns/Reds with black halter - found this also on clearance # 5 - $$$$ - but it feel really nice and soft against my skin (i'm all about the texture) - this was NOT on clearance, and is the most expensive of them all THANKS everyone for your opinions
  21. We ARE doing OOT bags...do you think wedding favors are necessary/appropriate in addition to OOT bags? By favors, I mean leaving something at everyone's place setting during the reception/dinner, or do you think OOT bags are enough, and take the place of favors?

I don't remember how much I paid for them, but I don't think it was much so don't worry about that. They are unscented. I have 6 packages of two starfish holders, and 12 of the small tealight holders. I think I might look for a table runner, or maybe just a square of fabric to bring with. The WC said any colored linens would have to be brought with, but they would set it up however we wanted. I think the squares might be easier and lighter since I'm not sure how long the tables will be to know if they will be the right length. Then I could just have some flowers in the middle and the candles around it. What do you think? Hi Michelle, i think those are really nice.....and i think it's great that we can share them. Can you tell me the total of the candle holders and i'll pay-pal you half the money? I think the idea of the table runners is a good idea..a girl Amy just got married at the IBersotar this past week and she found some turquoise starfish one's....so i may ask her where she got those. It may just liven the tables up a bit
