  1. Our resort only allows 1 per day.....Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar.....
  2. OMG - that is awewsome and I bet your guests will be thrilled to watch it, and it's a sure way to get them excited- love the music and the credits especially.
  3. Many, many things...for example: Mr. Big chocolate Bars, Coffee Crisp (though sometimes I can find them at World Market)....biggest thing for me that I miss being Canadian, but living in the US is SWISS CHALET and the fact that chicken fingers come with Plum Sauce (in the US its only ranch or BBQ - yuck)
  4. Tracy

    Riveria Maya

Welcome - I'm sure you will find more information on those properties than you ever thought possible! Enjoy and happy planning.
  5. Hi, we have a DECEMBER 2008 thread on here you should find....it's all of us who are getting married in that month! Welcome
  6. Those pictures are SO beautiful, and your hair looks amazing!
  7. I've been able to finally get a few things off my to-do list: We selected our flower girl dress yesterday (shopping with a flower girl dress for 3 year old can be challenging...when she wants the pink one, and the wedding colors are blue and brown), also purchased our ring-bearer shirt (beautiful white linen shirt), which he will wear with khaki shorts. Invitations (to be sent within the US) are done and ready to mail. Canadian one's are on hold, because I have to get some Canadian stamps to put on the rsvp's - so i won't be able to get those for another week or so. Wedding Bands are bought, Luggage tags are made and BIG NEWS...yesterday I picked up my dress, headband and veil........it's great to have that sitting in the house now So....what's left: -Fan/Programs -A few more things for the OOT bags -MUSIC...(this will be a biggy and i estimate about 20 hours - i will make a Ceremony Playlist, (pre, during, post) Dinner Playlist, Reception Playlist, Snorkel trip boat tour playlist -Informational brochures (which I will send with luggage tags about a month prior to the wedding) -AGenda for the week (which i will include in the OOT bags) -Groomsmen Gifts -Centerpiece, flower and cake confirmaton with hotel -Photographer - we have the photographer, but need to meet to confirm what pics we want, the style we want, times etc Im sure there is MUCH more...but that's what's jumping out at me for now. OH YEAH...and figuring out how to get all this crap to MX, and who I can beg to take stuff with them - ha ha. How's everyone else doing?

Or my BMs dresses... they haven't gone shopping and may not... What I've sorted out since the 14th of July: Create monogram/logo (THANK YOU Amarillis!!!)See if my aunt can perform our ceremony - she can't If not, book minister in Playa through WC - done! What wasn't on my list, but I've done: - Bought and received my shipment of raffia fans - Bought and received some rhinestone 'Bride to Be' and 'Just Married' iron ons - Bought and received our favours (cute little shell Christmas ornaments dipped in silver) So yeah, back to the colour problem. I can't make up my mind! light pink, green (romantic feel) fuschia, pink, lime green? (more vibrant) fuschia and navy blue (classy) Arrrrrrrrrrrgh!!! I LOVE the Fuschia Pink/Lime Green combination. I've seen a few girls with that, and it looks really really good.

  10. i lived in Whistler for 4 years - PM me and I can share loads of information with you...i think it's a great honeymoon spot!!!!
  11. Those prices seem very, very high to me. Our guests flying from TX to MX can get 5 days for about $1500/couple.
  12. October is "higher season" in Maui than September is.....it's possible that the tickets may not go on sale for October, like they did in September. Later in October (closer to Halloween) is even busier, as they do a huge Halloween thing in Lahaina each year and thousands and thousands fly in for that.

  14. We were using an online destination wedding travel agent, and it didn't go well - I had most all of the same frustrations you had, and I did not find the rates to be any better than I could find on my own. Now we are using a local TA and tha tis working out much better for us. She is not necessarily finding us better rates, but she is repsonsive to people, workign with them on options, deposits etc - I think it's nice to have a TA as an option for those not comfortable booking online. we did NOT do a group rate at the hotel, b/c it seemed risky on my part - contracts to sign, deposits to make etc - I did not want to be financially obligated and really had no way of knowing at that time how many rooms we would need etc. We have been booking thorugh apple vacations, funjet, AA vacation (or our TA has) and those rates are competitive and fair - so we just went that route.
  15. thanks for the web-site. I was going to use Paradise Catamaran's as Mark has been very helpful and good to work with, but i've been discovering (like Laura) that it is $10 p.p.for just about everything - food, drink, transportation etc - so it is actually turning out to be quite pricy. I was hoping to stay at about $30.00 per person, and i'm way over that at this point.
  16. Here are the shirts our groomsmen are wearing with ivory pants. I love them! The bridesmaids are wearing mocha brown dresses - so our colors are mocha and teal. The shrits have palm trees in shades of brown - so i hope it is a good compliment to the dresses. We got these for about $70.00 each. We paid for the GM and BM attire for the day out of guilt.

Arrrg! Do you have friends in Ottawa/are you from Ottawa? Seems a bit of a distance to come from Texas You probably liked our summer weather - I hear although it's boiling for us, it's lots cooler for those coming from the south! p.s. did your strategy work? are the invites done? Andrea, I actually grew up just outside of Ottawa in a small town called Renfrew - so I was home visiting family. It sure does make it tough for you though when your BM's are out of the country. So - how is everyone doing on their "to do's"? I got my invitations all printed and cut, but I ran out of star-fish, so I had to order more and am currently waiting on those, once them come, we'll be sending out in the mail. I also picked up my BM dresses this week and shipped them off to the girls, and my FI and I went shopping and got our bands (yippee). I started my luggage tags today (am going to send everyone luggage tags about a month before the wedding along with an informational brochure). My next big task is shoes for me (flip flops and sandals and wedding jewelery). Did anyone get flip flops anywhere? Happy Planning - let me know how things are going for all of you.
  18. i ordered my Alli today from drugstore.com (the $10 off coupon from the Alli web-site wasn't working, but drugstore.com also had $10 off) -will get it later this week. In the interim, I am watching the regular things I eat to try to become more aware of fat content...it's fascinating actually - like margine on toast has 6G!!!! WOW - going back to the spray, with 0
  19. Iberostar Paraiso Beach and Del Marl also have these - but let me tell you - I think people must wake up at 5am or something to secure them - cuz I've been to the pool by 7, and they are already being "held" with people's stuff!! PS - that really bugs me - when people "hold" them, and don't show up for hours - GRRRRR!
  20. You look beatuiful in that dress - all the Alli and weight watching definintely paid off
  21. Well, Y'all have sold me on this!! I am going to buy some this weekend and see if it will kick-start what WW doesn't seem to be kick-starting (or more likely what I am not kick-starting). I'm not always good at knowing the fat grams per serving though - especially eating out and stuff - so I will have to try to do some research before I start heading out for lunch and stuff. Maura, Tara and Jill - thank you all for the tips, the motivation and sharing your stories.....I'll keep you posted on how it works for me

The last think I need to do is shit my pants at our first birthday party for her at our new home or on Thunder Mountain! I almost just shit my pants laughing so hard at your post above..... How is the Alli going for you Yari?
