We're going to incorporate my heritage slightly and subtlety. I'm Brazilian, so we're going to have some Brazilian candies in our candy buffet as well as the guys will all be wearing Havaianas (Brazilian flip flops) on the beach. That helps for uniqueness, right?!?

You're so organized!!! My biggest frustration right now is that I STILL have people that haven't booked yet! Some of them I understand (my MOH's FI is in the military and wont know if he can go on leave until next month), but the rest are just annoying!!!

Hi ladies! I have a new question! About the day passes for guests staying offsite, do they permit people that purchased these passes into the restaurants? For budget reasons, my little sister is planning to stay at a small hotel on 5th and just walk to the hotel to hang out with us. I would hate for her to spend $50/day just to come to the beach/hotel! Anyone have any experience with this?

Shay- glad to see you, lady! Everything sounds good! Isn't it crazy to think how close it's getting- I mean, my countdown is down to a double digit number!!! AAAhHH! I think we've decided to do the same- the ambiance of area and items that the hotel provides for the ceremony and reception sounds like it will be beautiful! I still have my heart set on the chuppa, but I'm not going to worry too much about it- FI and I will make the final decisions in Playa. I'm hoping that Micaela will have a sort-of catalog of the things we can add and their cost. We're going to bring Sand Ceremony items (FI HAD to have the colored sand when I wanted to use the sand in Playa, but whatever!), the same Oriental Trading fans that I think everyone is using, and our homemade guestbook. I'm still deciding on if I want to do eco-fetti, petals, or ribbon wands... have any thoughts girls? It's getting SO close! Woo hoo!

Ohhh... I forgot about this thread. This will feel good to get off my chest! I confess that I'm getting annoyed with FI's selfishness lately! He's acting like a freaking 2 year old that doesn't want to play fair! I confess that it's f-ing obnoxious that my boss gave me a re-gifted teddy bear (taken from a charity event we hosted none the less) to show her appreciation to me for Christmas, when all the other managers got $100 Day Planners. What the hell?!? I confess that I sometimes hate being "the dependable one" at work. Thanks to that, I'm working a 17 hour shift tomorrow (NYE), again on Friday, and working an extra 10 hours on Saturday! That puts me at 70 hours for the week! Grrr! I'd like to have a social life too, you know! Whew... I do feel better!

Athena, Thank you SO much for your detailed review! I have a few questions if you don't mind! I'm in the process of setting up my reception menu and.. it's a silly question, but I would love to know what Tres Fillets Consomme and strawberry and vodka thousand leaves are (the dessert sounds amazing just from what I'm imagining, though!) Also, can you tell me what kind of decor there was on the tables at your reception? Just wondering if I need to purchase extra decorations to bring with me or just go with what they have! Thank you SO much!

Ladies, you are all always so wonderful when one of us has a question... I have about a million swimming around in my head today about receptions and my budget squeaks it's so tight!!! Can ya'll help? What is included in the reception cost as far as decor and floral is concerned? I can manage the cost for food, but much more just isn't going to happen! It was a slow night at my house tonight, so I've been looking through the history of "our" little thread- all 60 pages now! Aeroo (if you're still around!), I saw that you uploaded your reception quote... did you add much to it as far as decor? What was it like for all of your guests to have the same menu? Anything you would recommend steering clear from as far as menu items? Thanks in advance!!!

Just a suggestion to add to your list... Wedding dresses/bridesmaid dresses/MOB and MOG dresses dont have to come from a bridal store! My wedding dress is actually an Alfred Angelo bridesmaid dress that they are doing in white (spent less than $200 that way!) My bridesmaids picked out beautiful dresses online for about $40 each! MOB & MOG found dresses on clearance in the formal department of Macys... I think we paid less than $500 for all 5 dresses! Gotta love that!

Amanda, I have the same fear! I love FI and he's romantic in a different way when we're alone, but he's not big into PDAs and HATES being the center of attention!

We're doing a Mexican buffet with fajitas, rice, beans- the works... with a margarita machine and stuff like that... it kinda ties in that we were married in Mexico- what do you think?
