  1. ooh - another few to add (thanks to another thread) - travel sewing kit and safety pins. Maybe also some double sided tape - hey, ya never know!
  2. Awesome, thanks! And no, i don't think there is a cure!! Because once you stop using !!! in writing, i always worry that my posts seem grumpy! lol

Short and sweet, but meaningful - the wording is something i have been struggling with!
  4. those are so nice- and the quote about love is beautiful. Did you write it, or is it from somewhere else? [Never mind -i looked it up. Can't seem to find who said it, but it seems to be everywhere. Another one of those 'anonymous' authors...It is still a great quote.]

I was in contact with them and they told me that to have your product in time to order end of dec or early jan.. (we are also getting married in April 2009) Actually at $249, that is a GREAT price for a custom suit. Especially when you consider a standard off-the-rack suit (that isn't a store brand) at the Bay is regular price $500, $350 if you can hit one of their sales. Custom suits generally cost anywhere from $600 up to several thousand. (Unfortunately, FI wears suits every day for work, so i have done quite a bit of suit shopping. That's why he refuses to wear one for the wedding!)

I wanted to find a cool bottle opener but ran out of time. You could also try to find drink koozies. I don't think the boys used most of the stuff, so contents probably isn't that important. I LOVE the word "Manscaping"! Every time i hear or see it, i giggle. I just picture my FI who grows a beard in the winter - using a mini lawn mower or hedge trimmers... anyway, that's probably just me! Back on topic - I have seen some soft side coolers with speakers that you can plug your MP3 into that might be cool. Depends on how much you want to spend, because i think i recall them not being too cheap! I agree w/ the koozies and bottle openers. Maybe some "manly" SPF lipbalm, because i know i have to buy it for FI, otherwise he has sunburned scaly lips!

But seriously - if you have never seen a glacial lake, ladies (and gents) - put it on your list of things to do before you die, because it is a sight like no other. I can't wait to go here and do this hike. The ones i have seen have been on golf courses in Whistler, and i bet they can't even begin to compare!! Thanks again Ana for posting these shots!

I have also added the math formulas to calculate what you have spent. Hope this helps someone else. This is also a great reminder for items still needed. Thanks That's awesome - because i am a spreadsheet kind of gal! Thanks a bunch!
  10. wow - that is stunning. I have to talk FI into that! (He ha lived here most of his life, so maybe he has already been. I've only been here 4 years.)
  11. oooh - me too! (and nerd that i am, i notice we have someone on the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th of October all coming up!
  12. so i went at lunch to the Bay and found a fragrance i absolutely LOVE! It is Bvlgari Jasmin Noir. Apparently it was just released in Canada today (but has probably been in the US for months!) The guy gave me a sample, which i am going to have to resist wearing! It is sooooo nice, but it is EXPENSIVE. I'm talking, OUCH - it is twice as much as my Narciso Rodriguez, which wasn't cheap! So, i think i will keep looking, but if i don't find something better, i may have to splurge and pray FI never finds out how much it cost!
  13. there have been a lot of reports lately of Canadians being killed in Mexico (so much that FI's mom thinks she will get killed if she goes!) - but what people don't seem to realize is that the majority of those are people that are "known to police" at home and just take their shadiness and criminal ways to Mexico with them, and things catch up with them. As long as you are conscientious, you should be just as safe as you would be anywhere else. Unless you are a drug dealer or criminal and have bad people after you... then, all bets are off.
  14. This is becoming a pressing issue that i hope you ladies can help me with! I don't have a traditional dress, but it is backless and sideless, so my options are limited. This is my dress: BCBG MAXAZRIA Blue Jersey Gown by BCBG mine is actually a lighter shade, but same style. When i took it in to have it hemmed, i asked about her sewing cups in and she said, yes she could do that, but the stick on ones would give me better support. The girl in the picture appears to have NO boobs, but i am on the larger side of a C, so i need some added support. I have this, but it totally won’t work because you would see the flaps and how weird would that look?! Victoria's Secret - Adhesive underwire plunge bra I got this, and I have tried it on with little success (it doesn’t seem to do much LIFT-wise) – am I doing something wrong? Do I need more practice? They just sit there, stuck to my boobs – but not doing much else. Victoria's Secret - Invisible shaping bra So, has anyone tried these? Victoria's Secret - Adhesive invisible lifts Does anyone have any other suggestions? You may have noticed by my profile that i need to find something SOON! Thanks ladies!
  15. Really?? that seems way too easy - i'll have to give that a try!
  16. glad to hear i am not the only one with this issue... stinky little buggers. Hopefully someone will have a good solution!!!

I couldn't decide when i first put it on, but the longer i wore it, the better i liked it. FI liked it when he came home. But he was also a bit tipsy from a client dinner, so who knows! It's a definite MAYBE at this point!
  18. Ok, dredging up this old thread again, because i am less than a month away now and want a new scent. I read (as i am sure a lot of you did!) that you should get a new scent for your wedding so that everytime you smell it afterwards, it will always remind you of your wedding day. This is really important to me because i am EXTREMELY sensitive to scents and scent memory. The only problem is that i am having the worst time finding one i LOVE. There are a couple that i have liked okay, but nothing that i was just "this is it!" I normally wear Narciso Rodriguez, or Nanette Lepore (two TOTALLY different scents!) and have recently bought a MAC fragrance that reminded me of an old VS scent i used to wear when we were dating. But i want something new. Any suggestions?? Looking for something a little sexy and sultry - but wearable year-round, so not too heavy. What is everyone else wearing?
  19. sorry ladies - books and magazines are all going to Edna.
  20. Hi everyone, I just came across this shop on Etsy that has those cute crystal Monogram cake toppers that are so popular. (I thought i was going to DIY, but now i am waffling.) Her prices are WAY more reasonable than most places on-line i have seen, and she has some cute designs. So for all of you who maybe aren't inclined towards DIY... 21. i'm not familiar with Pattis Bridal, but i do think you should hold off for a little while in buying your dress. You still have lots of time to shop. I have seen MANY posts on here where girls bought their dresses early and then found one they liked even better later on. Give it some time, in case your tastes or vision of your wedding changes.
  22. i saw one yesterday that i am going to pick up - travel size lint rollers! (Staples had them for $1.99 here, but i am sure there are other places cheaper.)

  24. We got engaged Dec. 24, 2007 and are getting married a month from tomorrow - so just over 9 months. But we've been together for 6 years, so there wasn't much need for a long engagement.
