  1. I agree with the other ladies. And if your guests already have their bookings and it conflicts with changing your date to a day earlier, then I say go with the 11am ceremony time.
  2. Hi Cheri! Thanks so much for giving your review. I'm so glad you had such a good time. Did you have the symbolic ceremony or legal ceremony? I'm having the legal one and I tried to write some stuff to have added, actually I wrote A LOT! to have added, but they won't approve it. They said I can just add my own personal vows and if I want a hand ceremony, one of my guests can do it
  3. OMG susie - what a story! The craiziest things happen to you! I might come for a visit just to experience all the drama! LOL! I'm sure glad you slapped him though - he deserved it! Brooke and Sabrina - I agree with Chris - we need some baby belly pics!!! You need to document this wonderful time in your life! Chris - have fun this weekend! That sounds so awesome!! don't let him use his laptop, steal it away and hide it! or you could "accidentally" forget it! Gotta run for lunch!! Mmmmm!
  4. 635.8 + 2.3 yesterday = 638.1 The miles keep racking up ladies!!!
  5. Hi Brooke and welcome!! Your hubbys first name will be my new last name (Mrs. Allen) soon! Happy planning!
  6. YAY!!!! Another February bride baby!!! That's awesome news!!! Congratulations and try not to stress about the AHR planning, as S said to me, just relax, don't overthink stuff, and everything will work out.
  7. Leigh - you will still notice a huge difference in 25 days especially if you add it to a regular one hour per day routine. I've been doing it for about 3 weeks and I feel great!!!!! I've lost a couple inches and they are going to keep coming off! Just make sure if you are running/swimming/biking plus 30 day shred everyday - that's like 1- 1.5 hours of stuff per day, make sure you are eating enough so your body doesn't think it's starving itself and start to go backwards. I started to notice that I wasn't dropping inches as fast over the last week and a half or so, and then when I calculated my calories, I was about 500 under where I need to be to keep burning but not put my body into starvation mode. Now that I've started eating a few hundred more calories, my body is back to burning!
  8. I'm glad to hear that you are doing well ladies!!! Krista - I hope you get good news from the doc and can start trying again! I understand the feeling of everyone else being pregnant. I would really like to have a baby too, but I just can't do it right now with school, finances, not having a house, etc. so I have to be patient. Don't worry it will be your time soon!!! Brooke - I'm getting so excited! All the Mexico planning is done, but the AHR is causing me all kinds of headaches! There's so much to do - which makes me really angry - because this is not what I wanted - I wanted a simple destination wedding! Now I'm dreaming/nightmaring about chair covers, tableclothes, cups, catering, decorations, speeches, alcohol, cake, etc. My small, intimate BBQ when we got back has turned into a full blown reception, except rather than paying someone to do it and/or organize it, we are doing it all ourselves!!! UGH! Sorry, that's my rant. S and I were talking about it last night so it's fresh in my mind. I was asking him, "how did our small intimate backyard BBQ turn into a second wedding/reception with speeches, food, dancing, etc?"
  9. Hi! I would recommend sending them out sooner than later as people have a tendency to not reply, forget, etc. and sometimes you have to ask them a second time, otherwise you'll have people show up and not be expecting them. As for the wording, usually when a wedding or reception are adults only, the invitations are addressed specifically to the adults rather than so and so family. Also, I think it would be a good idea to state that it is a cocktail/appetizer or standing dinner party, so that people don't think it's a sit down event.
  10. Betty - I'm sorry to hear about your troubles with friends and family not booking. I think most of us destination brides have experienced disappointment in that way. It looks like we will just be missing each other at the resort. I'm leaving on July 17th and you'll probably be arriving soon after! I hope you have a beautiful wedding!
  11. UMMMMMM....can you say AWESOME Those are absolutely fantastic! I'm super jealous I didn't do something like that! Oh well, maybe for my second marriage, j/k!!!
  12. Happy Monday beautiful ladies!!! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! What's new with everyone? Sue - how's the planning coming along? Brooke - how you feeling? Breens - anything new? Christina - how's annoying coworker? LOL! Krista - how was your week off?? How's the new hair? Any pics to show?
  13. Di - I hope you had a gorgeous wedding day!!! Can't wait to see pictures of you and your hubby!!!
  14. You can do it barbiegirl - just don't give up because it definitely works!!!
  15. Hi ladies! I've started on level 2 (on day 6 of it now), and it's finally getting easier, but I tell ya, the first couple days on level 2 were like HOLY CRAP! lol! I've been doing a lot of reading on the high intensity workout thing, and I must say I'm glad to hear that because i've always been the kind of person where I like to workout for 20-30 minutes at a high intensity and that's it. I hate running/walking/weight lifting, etc if it lasts more than 30 minutes - it starts to bore me. Anyway, so I'm glad to hear that the best way to lose weight is shorter high intensity workouts.
  16. Another run yesterday with FI - 594.92 + 2.2 = 597.12
  17. Hi Violetvixen, the way I've approached this is deciding my ceremony time (3 pm), that takes about 30-45 mins, so appetizers and cocktails will probably be at about 4:30-6:30 (pictures are also during this time, so it's not a pure two hours of cocktails and appys). Then dinner (the earliest you can start) is 6:30. For one hour - 1.5 hours, then dance and reception from 8-10:30. That's my timeline.
  18. FI and I ran 2.2 miles yesterday He's doing the Couch to 5 k program and I'm so proud of him because he's never ran before! 565.73 + 2.2 = 567.93
  19. Those placemats - are they all the beige colour or do you have brown? How many brown do you have, if you have that colour?
  20. Sabrina and Brooke - I'm so excited to hear about your baby adventures!!! Hearing the heartbeat sounds like such an amazing experience! I can't wait to have that experience someday! Brooke I hope your nausea and cramps settle down soon! Sue - good luck with planning your AHR - I'm sure you'll have a blast!!!
  21. kateandbri - I think you could definitely do this to add to a gym workout or to do alone with good eating, etc. Jillian promotes this workout as a daily thing, and she says that 20 minutes of intense cardio + strength training that you do in the 30 day shred is all you need once a day to see a difference in your body. If you combine that with healthy eating/cutting calories, you will definitely see a difference! I've been doing 30 day shred every morning, then 3 or 4 evenings per week of moderate cardio exercise like a bike ride or run, and I'm eating super clean, and in 2 weeks I've gone from 40-32-40 to 38-31-38 measurements. Make sure you drink lots and lots of water too and eat potassium sources because you sweat alot during the workouts! They are definitely intense, but Jillian is right that 20 minutes of getting your heart rate is all you need to boost your metabolism and continue burning calories through the day. Plus a high intensity workout combing cardio and strength burns the most amount of calories during the workout. You probably burn as much during those 20 minutes as you would during a 45 minute or 50 minute elliptical or run at the gym. Plus you are getting your strength training which really works to tone those muscles! Even before I noticed differences in my body, after the three day mark, I could feel my body was tighter/firmer. I say go for it and give it a try!!! It's highly addictive and Jillian is very enthusiastic and encouraging!
  22. LOL Krista....too funny!!! I'm glad you guys can start trying again in a few months. Take it easy and spend the next few months just relaxing and putting lots of time and energy into your body and you! Tricia - sorry to hear of your irregularity! LOL! I just got mine today too, and major cramps!UGH! I started on the pill again, so my body is just trying to adjust, but when I stopped the pill for about 2 years, I was on a 25/26 day cycle - being a woman really sucks sometimes!!!! Except the baby part, that's pretty cool!
  23. Chris - your pics are gorgeous!!! I really like the one of your mom smiling at you - so touching!!! I also love your gerberas in the chairs - that's a great touch of colour! Brooke the pics of the baby's room look great!! I like the pooh paintings! Timberly I'm glad that the birthday celebration went well! Your daughter sounds so wonderful and smart!! Congrats! Krista- I'm sorry to hear about your pain, but I'm glad that you and hubby are taking it okay and that this won't affect you getting pregnant again in the future well Sean finally found a ring he likes and we bought it this weekend so that is a stress off my shoulders! We got our groomsmen outfits figured out. This weekend is more wedding stuff, next weekend is Bridal shower #1 and Sean's stag. Following weekend is Bridal Shower #2/Stagette. Then it's 2 weekends until leaving for Mexico! And I still haven't started tanning! I thought the weather might be nice enough, but it's been rainy for about a week now. I signed up for a tanning salon near my home though so I can fake bake...lol! I have to get some colour because I don't want to be a lobster on my wedding day!
  24. Hi Denise - my understanding is that they would directly translate the wedding license word for word into English. As far as the registrar of ontario telling you that you don't need to do anything - this may be true, because I remember Sunbride - who is also from Ontario saying that she found out the same thing - that the license was fine as it was. Ultimately, you could take the Spanish version to try and change your drivers license, etc, and if they say no, then you could look at finding a translator at that point. I just googled "translators Saskatchewan", and there was a ton that came up. There is an actual organization that has certified translators for different languages.
