  1. Your wedding was beautiful. You looked gorgeous! I am so glad it all worked out.

At about 11 am this morning I started getting the shakes and eying the bottle of margarita mix as a solution! So, the point of this ramble is this. Since I'm lazy and don't feel like thinking much, does anyone have any specific questions for me about the wedding or the resort or anything? Let me know! I love it!! I am soo looking forward to some withdrawls..That's a good sign of an awesome vacation/wedding! No immediate questions just looking forward to your pictures.

We opted not to do it! I have enough to plan and did not feel like taking on the burden of saving my guests rooms. There are plenty of other things she can assist you with beyond group rates. Especially when it comes to ironing out last minute details.

I will be posting pics and info soon but I've been traveling for about 9 hours now so I am going to go and crash! Love you all!! Thanks for all of your help with everything... I couldn't have done it without you! glad to hear you made it through beautifully. you were DEFINITELY in my thoughts! Do you think it'd be better to go to a TA from AAA or elsewhere to get faster results and group discounts?? -Stef Those dates were not available way back in January, I tried to get that weekend when I originally booked. Definitely send Jill a PM. She is awesome. I actually fired my old TA and hired Jill. She is very personable and better yet was married at the resort so she knows her stuff!! Good luck.

  7. Hey guys! Thanks so much for all your thoughts and prayers. They definitely seem to work. We were spared a serious catastrophe. I was able to read your posts and tried to post a reply from my iphone but service was not very good. We evacuated just north of New Orleans and arrived back early yesterday. Everything seems OK in my area though normal life will not resume for sometime. Again thank you all! Jen
  8. Well talked to finance' this am and if Hurricane Gustav hits New orleans then we may be forced to cancel our wedding. Hell we may even be forced to move! Please say a little prayer for us all...Thanks, Jen
  9. Anyone watching Hurricane Gustav?? looks like Gustav may thankfully miss Cancun but unfortunately it is tracked straight to new Orleans!!! Great..here we go again!

I love you girls and thank you all so much!! this picture means nothing but it makes me laugh!! Good luck to you both! l am sure everything will be wonderful!

I know its different for the wedding reception but I can't imagine them coming and shooing everyone away, no one has reported that yet. I anticipate our group moving on to a different bar as the night progresses but it will be really tacky to have staff shooing every one away and scraping tables around at the stroke of 9:00. I don't think they'll do that but if I were you, I would anticipate moving on at 9:30 or so. SusanK reported that some hotel guests were complaining about the noise and the staffers came and turned it down and she told them H to the No and turned it back up because she paid to have her reception go until 11:00. They might have changed their policy because of noise complaints?? Just speculation... I would keep bargaining on the stereo equipment start time but worst case, don't rent it for 3 hours, just 2 hours and have it start after dinner because it's a RIP OFF anyways. Kathi will give us the DL very soon! By the way Jodey, your new pics are SO CUTE! There is NOOO WAY I would have turned the music down either!! Good for her!LOL! I can certainly see where this would be a problem for other guests but I am on the freaking beach! I hope This will not be an issue with me. I was planning on adding an hour to my reception and skipping the cocktail hour.

The should have lots of practice before I get there next year!

Don't forget about ebay!! I found everything, votives, candles..all for dirt cheap!
  15. I didn't know this list existed! I will be sure to check it out!
  16. Had an appointment with him myself!! LOL!! Guess plan "B"...whatever that plan is??

Would it be possible to have someone make my centerpieces like a flower shop and bring them in? Or does anyone have the telephone number to that shop? $200- is seriously way outta my budget.. Here is a pic of my centerpieces I am buying silk flowers and bringing my own vases and putting them togther the day before. No way an I going to pay the ridiculous price she quoted me!! BTW, your centerpieces are beautiful! Nice choice.

(and we are pissed off because we offered to put deposits down a few months ago in order to hold rooms and our TA said it wasn't necessary!) and don't get me started on airfare, which is currently almost $1000 PER PERSON from Philadelphia!!! Oh of course we could just have connecting flights to bring the price down, but the nonstop flight was one of the main reasons we chose cancun mexico to begin with! or we could fly from newark, nj or nyc and it's cheaper but our guests would have to travel 1 1/2 - 2 hours just to get to the airport (which is the reason we didn't chose tulum or even jamaica ... wanted to avoid long land transportation)! wtf? we are just screwed, and no one is going to be able to come to our wedding! *remind self to just breathe* /rant HOLY CRAP! I cannot believe they are booking up already! I have nicely warned my guests that I will not pay for day passes so they better book early.

I have so many Ideas and my dates not even booked yet! :-) Looking forward to comparing notes with you ladies in the coming months! Thanks! Jenn You might want to start thinking of alternate dates. If memory serves me right there are not Saturdays available in June 2009. I first requested June 6, 2009 way back in February and it was not available. I hate to be a downer but just wanted you to be prepared. Be sure to give MULTiPLE DATES when you respond, because it takes her sooo long to get back. Sorry!

We are planning our honeymoon there next year but I would love a review and some pics...LOT OF PICS, PLEASE!!!!
