  1. THanks girls! I figured I would share the web site that I found to order the pink starfish from - since so many girls are using pink in their color scheme.. You have to place an order for $50 though. Dyed Light Pink Finger Starfish 4"-5"<br>(Case Pack 12)
  2. HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE! don't make resolutions that we can't keep! Keep them realistic and they will come true! I was gonna go out dancing this evening- but it is looking like we are going to get SNOWED IN! AGAIN! It is friggin bad out! and I just started you know what, that uninvited friend on that night that can be really fun staying in and getting cozy...dosh garn it all!
  3. Hey there ladies..... 2 projects that I started and now starting to complete and I wanted to share. I dont' really have a template for them but will explain how I did them.... First- table numbers.. Pics in the sand. (how original!) But I still love this! I have 2 cardstocks of the pink and teal metallic sheets of paper. Teal I cropped to 5x5 Pink to 4x4 I have a cut out of the frame square that I exacto knifed out of the pink for the "picture frame" I cut the sand pic to size, then I sandwiched them together with glue As an added treat I used the MS sanddollar punch to glue them to the corner and on the edges in the back. Second- placecards! I am so bummed because I found this awesome paper, but it keeps getting jammed in my printer, so all of my placecards will have to be hand written! The other thing is that some pens will run, so I happened to find a pink and a teal inked sharpie at staples for like a $1, so I will have to write them out by hand. Which is OK. These were so simple to make! I bought a pre-made punch at Micheals- the best place on earth! punched out the luggage tags, used a hole punch for the tip, used the teal paper to punch out my palm trees and glued them to the corners. No computer needed for these! I have teal ribbon, and already ordered my starfish since I will attach them all to the starfish and them place them into a sandbox for collection... here are the inspiration pics! One thing down - a million more DIY to go!
  4. Very personal, your guests will love to see you in all the different activities you love to do - that is why they are there!

So much sentiment and thought was put into it. I love it! Here are my opinions to your questions.... This is the first hair flower I've looked at so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I like it. It seems pretty simple, but elegant at the same time. I also think that the sash, the flower and the chandelier earrings would be to busy. Could you wear the earrings your student gave you to your welcome dinner or another wedding-related event while you're on vacation? Then you could wear a simpler earring w/ the necklace and bracelet your mom gave you (I'm assuming she'll be there and may be a little hurt if you don't wear them?) While the dress looks amazing with or without the sash, I kind of like it better without. Anyway, good luck deciding what to do. I know these details can become very stressful! OK - so I love the earrings also, but I don't want it to be too much, and If I have to choose, then I have to go with the necklace. My mom spent a lot of money on it and she really wants me to wear it on the wedding day itself. I guess I can find a simple pair to go with the necklace, and wear the chandalier earrings another day. Plus my student will not be in attendance! Thank you for the assitance girls! It seems like most of you like my dress without the pink sash? I do like the idea of adding it during the reception I think! And I do want to look bling, yet classic, not too much. so maybe just a flower in my hair. I think that I am on the road to figuring it out- sometimes you need an outside eye - thank you all! My mom and friends just think that everything looks wonderful and will not give me an honest opinion one way or another! LOL

I'm not a fan of the sash, but I don't see how else you could wear the flower. Also, how are you going to wear your hair? I love the flower also- I don't have the sash with me to put it on, but an idea was to tie it in the back rather than the front and the flower pinned to it where it met. My hair, loose curls, tied back low, it is a bit longer now than in the pic. I wanted to put a flower in my hair, lower and behind my right ear. Maybe I should just do that, and no sash?
  7. Girls- I just had to share with you! For Christmas, my mom and dad took my grandmothers hope chest that my mom was suposed to have, and refinished it and gave it to me! I was in tears. here is a pic! Then... my mom gave me a swarovski AB necklace and matching braclet to wear on the wedding day! I LOVE swarovski and I can't wait to wear this! AND!!! my mom gave me the blue garter that she wore on her wedding day, I didn't even know that she had it! So, here is a question! Although I am super excited that I recieved these gifts, I was planning on wearing these chandalier earring w/ AB stones that a student of mine had made me.. But, now I am thinking that it will be too much bling? Should I get a more simple earring? What do you think? And also, here is a pink flower that i bought to wear with my pink sash for the dress, I wanted to add some stones to the center, which my student made me a bunch to add, but I think that the flower may look to flat / that the stones are too much... any opinions are appreciated! Here is a pic of my dress to help you try and picture the ensemble all together. Honest opinions please... Is it too much w/ the earring and the flower? Or is it ok? The ceremony will be on the beach. OR... should I forgo the sash alltogther? that was a thought also! AGH! Much appreciation on your idea's!
  8. I would have FREAKED! That is crazy, I hope that you dont ' have to pay for all that headache!
  9. Those are the current prices that we were qouted, and we have based our budget on what is posted. That is also what the wc sent to me via email.
  10. Great PICS! I am looking at your photographer but have to ask- what location did you have the reception on the resort, and did you do a full review to share? I am curious! Thanks! And CONGRATS you wifey!

Our package only included 50 pictures, but of course they took many more, and we ended up buying more. We ended up with 92 edited photos and all 237 original photos for $800 which we were extremely pleased with (after a lot of negotiating!) We were nervous when we first got there and realized the photogs walking around each day taking guests pics were going to be doing our wedding, but we seriously could not be happier. I think as long as the photographer has decent equipment, it is all about the poses and locations, and we were able to direct the photographer according to what we wanted...plus my husband looked to handsome and i felt so beautiful, I don't think anyone could have screwed up our shots! i would def say if you are on a budget, the dreams resort photogs did great! i don't think i would have been any happier with Photosouvenirs, and we saved at least $400 Hi there! Thanks for the quick review! I was bummed that Photosouv. is not avail for my wedding date - so now I feel stuck. I did email TP asking about how much it was to get all the pics for proofs, and they did tell me that we will have to negotiate. I kind of hate that idea, I feel like they should have a better pricing system so that you can be better prepared with a budget- especially since I know that I will want all the proofs! Do you have any shots that you can share so that I have an idea of what I am looking at? And - did you meet with the photographer prior to go over your shot list / did you give it to him that day? Sorry for so many questions - I feel like photo's are a really important part of the wedding!
  12. I am so bummed! PhotoSouviner is not avail for my wedding date and I can't find any reviews from brides on here that have actually used Tropical pics from the resort.... Any help?
  13. Welcome Erika! It's gonna be here before we know it! AGH! I can't believe we are under 100 days to go! double digits and so much to do!
  14. Holy crap- the Holiday's have put a slight delay on our wedding planning and errands- wouldn't you say girls!? OK so now back to reality! We are going shopping for white lights today to decorate the tent for the AHR since they will all be on sale! I got my mom's garter as a gift. (and it is blue) I got my wedding swarovski necklace and bracelet as a gift also - so accessories are looking good! But that is just the tip of the iceberg! FI reminded me that we have to start the invitations soon! Wow- I thought that time would never come!
  15. HMMM I wonder if they would melt quickly in the sun at the beach? Melt in your mouth not in your hand. Can we put that to the test?
  16. ugh- so sad, tear..... The only thing that I can think of to make me sleep better is that her mom had mental issues and really was not in the right mind. I can't see how anyone of sound mind could do such an act!

  18. Yee Ha! this is so much fun! I am snowed in right now and baking cookies for Christmas! The roads are really bad out. WE cancelled our christmas party at work because of the storm, and I haven't even started my holiday shopping- so I hope it clears up for tommorow!

  20. Phenominal pics-- it looks like you had a wonderful time- and you look wonderfully glowing! Congrats
  21. Yeah no kidding! 4 months away! AGH!! This weekend I made my centerpieces for DW. I bought paper to make my placecards - used Micheals coupons of course! Sent off an email to the WC with some timeline questions so I can start thinking about the details of the ceremony. I still have to find someone to watch our puppy when we are gone - we don 't want to kennel him. Have to make a block of hotel rooms for the AHR back here in MAy. Have to get the wedding ring sized! - need to find a new jewler! and lots of other stuff. But i think that is pressing at the moment.
