  1. Hi, welcome! I'm a BM in a wedding in Belize this October at Caye Chapel. It's a small private island not far off the mainland. I think they are expecting about 50 guests, if the plane ticket price doesn't scare away too many people.

And I know she has had a rough past month or 2 but during our lunch, you would have never thought you were talking to the same person. She stayed soooo positive and she was full of laughs! I must concur! Twinkletoes is always delightful, even when her personal life has been turbulent.

  5. All I can say is SHADEY SHADEY SHADEY! Keep us posted as the saga unfolds.....
  6. I really hate that Robin is so nice! LOL She needed to give those people a piece of her mind!!! Although I'm sure its scary to be in a foreign country, alone, and accosted! But they can't just treat people that way, especially when the resort says that they ALLOW outside photogs! All that said, I'm glad that this happened after the wedding and that you were still able to have a wonderful day.
  7. It should not matter how many times Robin has been there or how many weddings she has shot b/c they do not have a policy that says outside vendors are not allowed! They say over and over that you can bring your own photog they just have to stay for 3 nights or pay for a day pass. For those of you who have upcoming weddings, I think you need to be upfront with your photog and make them aware of the situation so that if someone approaches them they won't be caught off guard. I would also make sure to discuss this with Chandlyn when you have your face-to-face meeting. She may not even be aware that any of this took place.
  8. I don't want to disappoint you, but we went to several "botanical garden" type places while we were touring around Ochos Rios and I never saw a whole lot of really pretty tropical flowers. And Tai Flora there told me that most flowers have to imported, which is why they are so expensive. So if you are really picky about the flowers you might be a bit disappointed... but if you are open minded I think you would be fine. Also, do you or anyone in your wedding party have any experience with flower arranging? Cuz it's harder than it looks! And you will need some supplies, like floral tape, pins, ribbon, etc. I'm sure you can get all this once you get there, you just need to know what to look for.
  9. I got married at the beach gazebo and I thought my DH could see me while I was standing there waiting on the BMs to get down the aisle but when i asked him later he said he couldn't see me b/c of the palm trees. I also used my parasol to block my face while i was standing there and then when Chandlyn motioned to me to start walking i put it down.
  10. OMG!!!!! The people at that place are insane! I am the April bride that had all the drama. We ended up escorting Robin everywhere with us so that the staff wouldn't continue to harass her. They tried to have her removed during our reception at the disco and I had to tell off the dude. And they kept trying to figure out her name and room # and we wouldn't tell them. I just can't believe that happened to her. I saw PLENTY of people with professional cameras while we there. One of our guests had a pro camera and no one bothered him!

I'm trying to make a brochure that has the restaurant info in it for the guests, and I'd like to let them know if they need to bring nice clothes. Men cannot wear sleeveless tops. I don't think they could wear shorts either. And no swimsuits.

He thought the men were prettier than some of the women.
  14. We used Chukka to book the zipline tour, which was $80pp including transportation. We didn't book directly with Chukka and probably would have gotten a better deal if we had. If you are at ROR, all the major tour companies that your trip is booked thru will have a table in the lobby everyday where one of their reps can help you book excursions. We didn't book anything until we got there b/c we didn't want our guests to feel like we were monopolizing their vacation. Most people booked the shopping trip, which was like $7 i think, and then Dunns river was $20, and horseback riding was $80.
  15. Ok, I'm feeling a little slow... what/where/how exactly can people access this webinar and site visit info?
  16. It' beautiful! And your day is so close!!! How exciting!
  17. I sent mine certified via USPS and I never got the delivery receipt but everything did get there in time. I think you can just take it with you though b/c when we had our meeting with her she still had our paperwork in her file folder.

When you get your pics w/o the copy right stamp I would love to add a few of your pics to her website if you don't mind. And I must say your hair held up FANTASTICLY in the rain! I would have been a gigantic frizz ball
  19. Gorgeous!!! You can't even tell it was rainy day! And you got your heels and the oceanview Your flowers turned out beautiful too. I saw them before my mom shipped them and loved them, but they really pop with your girls dresses.
  20. Congratulations!!!! I'm glad to hear that the rain didn't spoil your day. PICS PICS PICS PICS! You know how impatient we are around here!
  21. I know Lizz had a big wedding, like 80 people i think and she was in the plantation. Mammee Bay where they have the free receptions is not that big, but the plantation has upstairs and downstairs. Maybe you could do a beach reception.
  22. ROR will get it pressed for you, but they send it somewhere in town.
  23. I love the 2nd pic, the one of ya'll in the sand. That's one that needs a frame!
  24. One reason i picked Jamaica over Mexico was so that I didn't have to worry as much about people getting sick from the food, water, fruit, etc.
